- Recording artists Kool & The Gang, Robert "Kool" Bell, Ronald Khalis Bell, Dennis "DT" Thomas and George Brown were honored with the 2,560th Star on the World Famous Hollywood Walk of Fame, October 8, 2015, in Los Angeles.
Kool and the gang is one of the greatest Bands of all time!!

Kool and The Gang without James JT Taylor is just Jack Up!!! Yes you did Awesome with Jazz before JT . But in 1979 You added James JT Taylor as a member to sing lead In 1979. JT left his group and joined KATG . The Voice you hand pick. You cannot just erase JT Taylor. On Every song by Kool And The Gang in The 80’ JT was The Voice ! We your fans saw JT as the Voice and a member of KATG . For 10 years! in the 80’s JT as member help to you go to the next of level greatness . The Top Awesome group ever . Right out the Box with JT singing Ladies Night, Too Hot, and Celebration KATG Blow up. Jame came back in 1996 you guys did a CD together . I read The interview from Songwriting 2018 Hall Of Fame. I was sad and disappointed with KATG. JT was Hurt for his mother not being able to see JT get his STAR.. His family, friends and. Fans also. On every Album cover, TV show, every Award you guys won , Soul Train , Dick Clark, radio station , video on Facebook, UTube for 80’s, The World sees the Entire Group of Kool And The Gang with JT. Taylor. I was glad that The Songwriters Hall Of Fame made it plain JT must be included to get The Award. entertainment in which JT was a Mayor part of the 80’s 10 years. The Songwriter Hall Of Fame . They contacted JT about The Award and did separately interview JT. JT STATED he regret the the money part that caused them from being friends and family. I saw all the pictures of KATG singing and dancing on THE STAGE together at the Awards that was Awesome to see 🎤🎤🎤. Your songs and entertainment blessed the World.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I So Love Kool And The Gangs for All The Time you give us . It time to become friends again and forgive. Together it look like you all were Happy great friends, Family , as you travel around the World 🌎 together . Life is too short with unforgiveness. God is Love. And your Fans Love you. Rest in Heaven Clifford Adams, Spike Makins, and Charle Smith. Everyone in KATG was the Best .

Yep indeed it's a shame to not mention his contribution,although i love them all. from my standpoint "JT" propeled them to superstardom with his voice with songs like celebration/ladies night/too hot /fresh /Joanna /Cherish and so on ....

This honor is for the original surviving members. JT is not an original member. And he LEFT the band to do his solo thing. This is how it's done with groups that get a star. When the band gets elected to the Hall of Fame, anyone can show up.
Nobody is saying he LEFT. Or for what reason. Who's to say he didn't decline. Lots of people get a big head and think they are better off solo. And it doesn't always work out.
The only reason i lesson to Kool and the gang is because of JT Taylor he should have been recognized that day!! Its a shame ☹️

I worked in the music business, radio & movie business... I was not impressed with ANY of those I worked around, genius, handsome or not... Kool & the Gang were one of my favorites (so talented & gifted), I never worked with them, never knew them, never met them :-(....BUT there was ONE GENTLEMAN.... ROBERT BELL...I had a crush on for DECADES (even after I was married LOL)... I am so happy for them being honored... many years ago, my brother surprised me, taking me to see them, years after they 'faded' from the hot scene (not even knowing I liked them...some oldies show at the now defunct Sports Arena in LA)... my heart still skipped a beat... it was a weird crush...never any fantasies ... no salivating... (and I could have arranged a meeting with them any time during my career, but did not)...had forgotten all about that "school girl crush" until now.. (some of those years I worked with Motown, so you can imagine who I got blessed to know & meet..God is good)... Robert Bell has "held up" well!!!

This event felt empty without JT Taylor. Classless band for not mentioning him.
They should have at least mentioned JT he took them to a new height.
Before JT became the lead vocalist, Kool & the Gang were already swinging & although JT is a very good singer, he wasn't an original member of the group.
Still, that part of their success is undeniable. And a whole generation grew up during their Pop years. Unless they went to a concert and heard the older songs, or like me, looked up the older songs, all they know is Kool & The Gang featuring JT Taylor
They had moderate success before JT and were on a slump when they recruited him. It was JT who catapulted them to their peak, which they've never regained since. Never would have done it without JT
Can't think of any hit without JT
What you don't understand is that they were primarily a brass band prior to landing JT. They had 2 top 10 hits (Jungle Boogie 1973 and Hollywood Swinging 1974). When JT arrived they picked up 10 top 10 hits from 1979-1987. They became a commercial success only because of the addition of JT. And, I promise, they would never have received a Walk of Fame Star without JT.

This is an alter disgrace for you guys leaving out JT Taylor and you lot should be ashamed of yourselves. Regardless of what has happened between you lot, without JT is is technically no Kool and the gang.., he may not be a member of the group but always acknowledge his accomplishments within the group all the songs played today where all sang by JT. Did any of other members sang lead and got a hit????? I have all your records and the is NO. So why disrespect the man. I saw the soul train or BET award one time again these guys left out JT. Your new lead song sounds nothing like JT though he is talented and leaving JT out off any thank you speeches is a sign of ungrateful spirit....
