    Hi daddy, it's the alcohol in the pen that is doing the work. I use isopropyl alcohol 90%
    I'm sure it will save you money. Use cloth dampen on end and use the other end too wipe with. I hope it helps you. I watched you trying to find a better way. I have learned much from people like you sir. Thank you. 🎉

    After watching this video I had to give it a try. I have an old matchbox Porsche 928 from 1979. The stripes on the sides and the logo on the hood had the majority of it rubbed off. So I picked up these dry erase pens. with a little elbow grease and scrubbing it removed a majority of it. It has a little ways to go on the tiniest spots.I have to careful because the doors open plus it’s an old car from my childhood. I want to try some of different ways people in the comment section had suggested as well. The less scrubbing the better. Thanks for sharing and have a good day.

    I been using Deep woods off to remove decals. As long as you wash it good afterwards to rrmove the off or it will eat the paint

      @@TheDiecastDad I descovered it by accident. I had some ants invade my room and I sprayed them directly with the deep woods off. The spray got on a couple of my diecast. And a day or so later I noted that it had eat the paint from the diecast. So the next time I decided to remove some decals I thought let's try it. And I did and it worked good and fast. So as I said. Wash the casting with water afterwards. And shake all the water you can off and out of it and then set it in the sun for a while and let the sun heat it up and it will help dry the casting out good. And quick too

    I had Absolutely NO idea about this! Thats pretty cool & something a lot of us have on hand at home without having to run to the store. I may let my daughter help me clean a few up with this Method! Cool Vid! 💪😎

    The Bic dry erase markers work a lot better than the expo brand. FYI. I watched another guy use them and tried it out. Thanks for sharing this technique though and have a good day sir.

    yes it works on some cars but used on the white and blue pinnifarina batista and it took it down to the bare metal.

    I did this on one of my Neon Vipers. I just left the manufacturers decals and removed all the neon. I also threw on some aftermarket wheels with drag slicks on the back, skinnys up front.
    The thing looks amazing! Better than most RLCs 😂

    All you have to do is either paint over it find the same little jar of paint can you paint over. Or you could just use a screwdriver or if you have a knife you just do it slightly to it and then you just spray cleaning product on it and it cleans off the scratches😂

    No offence, this looks like a lot of effort when I've seen the same technique used getting faster results on other cars. Could it be the colour of marker used, the matte finish of the paint delaying the process? On gloss painted cars, acetone alone works quickly enough for the few times I've tried, just to get some direct experience. Strange to hear others say dry erase markers ate the paint AND the tampos

    • @TheDiecastDad
      @TheDiecastDad  4 місяці тому +2

      Iv heard people say the Expo Low Odor Dry Erase Markers aren’t as strong as just the regular dry rice markers. This marker is also older but it also depends on the car some are easier than others I’m not sure why that is I’ve used acetone also and it works good but you have to be careful with it I also used rubbing alcohol this method is a tad more forgiving when it comes to to removing decals vs acetone for beginners I was just showing a method that has worked for me and that easy to use I appreciate you reaching out in the comments. Thank you for watching 👍
