So you can brag about it for the next six blocks?" Tim would love that one, maybe both songs together. It's a good story! Not sure if anybody made the comment but that little kid at 3:17 is Jermaine Dupri. There's a funny story about the lead singer/Rapper named "Ecstasy" (the one with the hat and "short shorts" {LOL} ). After the group lost their popularity and succumbed to Gangsta Rap, Ecstasy actually had no money and became an ambulance driver.
He said there was one incident where he was rushing some dude to the hospital and the injured dude who was half dying, noticed Ecstasy him driving, raised up and said "Hey ain't you the dude from Whoudini? "

Twins, Whodini was probably my favorite rap group ever. They were very early in Rap...post Sugarhill, Kurtis Blow, Casanova Fly but their hit in 1983 "Magic's Wand" was the song that bridged rap from "Rapper's Delight", "The Breaks" and "The Message" to the Run DMC/LL Cool J so they were extremely important in the history of the music. Remember this was 8-10 years prior to gangster rap so the style was a little different. You brothers have to hear "Fugitive", "Smiling Faces", "Funky Beat", "One Love", "Friends", "Five Minutes of Funk" and "Escape". Once again to me they are one of the important groups in hip hop of their era as were Caz/Herc, Sugarhill Gang, Flash and the Five, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Eric B and Rakim, Boogie Down Productions, Public Enemy, NWA, Tupac, BIG, Nas, Kendrick.

Yes they recorded the song "friends" in the beginning they was touring. The dude in black hat john fletcher aka "Ecstasy" RIP he died recently. Then is Jalil and the dj grandmaster caz. Yes you are correct they were trail blazing in the rap game. One the first rappers to have musicians that played on their stuff. That little boy on jheri curls is the producer jermaine dupri.

Whodini is so underated in the rap game. They had a style of their own. They were and are pillars in the rap game. They were the ones to put sex appeal, taste of r&b, and funk to rap. The new rap artist today probably have no idea of who they are. I just thought about how they were in rap genre of their own. LL cool j song I need love piggy backed off of what Whodini had already created. And of course my brother the way he dressed, sex appeal back in the day. When everyone else was trying to be gangsta.
