Use the force. :) If you have good instincts, use them. Sometimes you can just feel that something is wrong on a path. Or right on the path. In such cases all the data and advise only serves to obscure the issue.
Example. I've architected some new products in the IoT space. I specified aspects of our products can work completely offline. If the internet blows up tomorrow, our products will still function. I chose this path because it's the right thing to do, though it runs very contrary to current industry trends. I believe it will pay dividends in the market, even though it means not forcing all of our customers into a subscription.
I want to monitor my remote workers and thus I am thinking Remote Desktop Solutions - but if I go to MS they want you to live in their town...everything MS. Amazon seems to be a better fit, Google isn't there yet. and I do want to video monitor everyones screen with 30 sec screen shots...no one has that SW available for their offering - only 3rd party.
