9/10 is absolutely genius. The joke itself doesn't even come anywhere near offensive, but it plays on the expectations of a jaded audience. It's basically metacommentary about offensive jokes turned into a pun. Brilliant.
The 9/10 is brilliant, you've got the "wait, this is a 9/11 joke right, but where's the second pin?" the slow build-up, the anticlimax and then the pun tying it all together
The 'Spare'd' school one from the last video and 9/10 are definitely my favorite ones of these. Both are done so well and don't actually show anything bad, they take a moment to sink in. Niko has definitely mastered the art of slightly offensive.
I love that... being offensive requires no art, being Slightly offensive requires art because you know where to draw the line in a fun way. The same principle can be applied to a lot of things.
Also I feel like this can apply to satirical humor as well. If you want to joke about something and call it satire, don't focus so hard on making it offensive that it outweighs any humorous aspects or any ability to spur discussion of or interest in an idea
It also shows that the person is pretty aware of social norms and other people's comfort levels... as opposed to just being a morally shit human being who therefore would struggle more with being able to accurately locate that line. Something that helps is the goofiness. Also only alluding to the thing if it's too much to show (9/11 one fits there). Also very important is to clearly indicate who the immoral characters are. I honestly found it difficult to laugh with them during Jordan's animation. The horrific irony of a bunch of white guys making light of something the US is still in the wrong for, and then following it up with an overly enthusiastic "on the line!!!" applause. The whole situation just hurts a bit. Niko's had an offensive implication given the context, but still paid respect to the tragedy.
