just want to clarify on the situation in Singapore. While yes what the video said about how the cases in Singapore are surging is true, it does not indicate that the virus is widespread in the common population. Majority of the cases in April have been due to multiple dormitories (for the foreign construction workers) being affected by the virus, and the workers did not seek medical help or alert any health authorities because it was a minor respiratory symptom and were not aware of the severity of this illness. Because of that, the virus was able to spread rapidly undetected, and by the time it was detected, the virus had time to spread to more people living in the dormitories. With that said the virus is not spreading uncontrollably as what some may think. As for the lockdown the reason for it was because previously, most of the cases was able to be contact traced and because of that we were able to track and isolate people who may be infected with the virus. However, late march, there have been a increase in the number of untraceable cases (from 1-2 untraceable cases daily to around 15-20). Because of that the government and ministries have decided to do a partial lockdown to help prevent the virus from spreading out of control as a preventive measure (instead of doing it as a reactive measure).
Also the app, tracetogether, does not store any data other than who you have come in close contact with for prolonged periods of time (so no name, location, identification stored on the app. simply an anonymous user), hence personal data is not compromised.

Yeah more than life you people are plain dumb.
@@Smile-ow4xj its not "privacy or life" calm down hypocrite you act like this tracking thing is the cure and we are refusing it... we can have privacy and life its a free country.
Our rights are not something to give up, even when lives are at stake. Think of how many times we've had to put our lives on the lives to secure rights in the first place. A disease rolls by and you want to undo the victories of the past?
Again the question of security over liberty... Not this time
That one guy saying that the data needs to be destroyed? LOLLLLL
Not happening; data is currency and, trust me, this would be a goldmine. Score of a lifetime.
This privacy thing is ridiculous... My wife has to OK me on the HIPA Form and in person just for me to order her prescriptions, and I'm the one paying the bills and the insurance -- and we've been married for 35 years.
After it’s over, wipe the slate clean. But that won’t happen.
It would never stop there will be just continuous threats to keep people forced to reveal every single thing they do.
how about you just address that "Crisis" appropriately sooner and then none of this would be necesary?
Conflict of interest: We have to live to see tomorrow's problems.
Another pandemic: paranoia
And fear
Biggest concern is not privacy but veracity. This tool can spread false positives and increase paranoia.
From a technological standpoint, Sure... you can go ahead and develop something that can protect privacy but its going to take you much longer because of all the red tape. When your done, tens of thousands are already dead. Also Americans might not even go for it given their level of distrust concerns for privacy
Why Hong Kong is not mentioned?
I don’t need the latest snapshit that bad. These phones are getting ahead of themselves
Indian government has launched a contract tracing app named aarogyasetu. It uses Bluetooth and location to inform.
Nice work
CBNC loves the CCP surveillance state!🇨🇳
what if data is false in contact tracing?
Once this is over, I'm switching my cell phone to good old BlackBerry with their original RIM software.
I turn off my smartphone and use an old school pager...$12 a month.
@@mikeca98 Thats better lol
Can't they leave the phone at home? Bracelets would work tho
Nope, almost all payments are made using phones in China.
@@bftjoe not taking about China. The other countries. China already has mass surveillance+instant facial recognition. So technically anywhere in public place, they can be identified
And there it is. Boom.
NBC, u just gave wet dreams to conspiracy theorist all over the world.
Contact tracing then TREATMENT.
Don’t y’all look,see,hear everything already
I don't understand, why it's difficult to make the people which are infected with "corona virus", stay in hospital and treat!
one reason, why it's difficult for the small countries like mine, is the scarcity of places in the hotel... but I don't know if you have the same problem in US and don't think that you have problems in diagnostics
This is really scary.
It really is but I have no intentions of telling you "only through Christ will you survive" well it's not wrong, although it's not right to implement the belief forcefully at times of Crisis, everyone has their own individual relationship with God,and through their voluntary decision will they be at peace with oneself and Christ
But in other words Stay Strong and stay safe
this shouldn't happen unless and until they give every single person a free smart phone, free unlimited unrestrained internet access and electricity in every corner of the country.
I'm sorry, but who on Earth thinks this is a good idea???
Do they make you live in a little box? Cells.
Cells.
no.
I'll take my chances compared to china 2.0!
I do not consent
There is no privacy when you're dead.
@RingSight91 let’s be honest. Korea’s security is also america’s best interest. And id think 50k dead is quite significant given that the whole country is still in lockdown.
