The Wonkabedia is awesome!!! I could discuss the Wonka movies and books for hours and that doesn't even touch on the 2023 Wonka prequel of sorts. Did you see it? Of course as a child of the 70s my heart will always be with the Gene Wilder version. I'll be ruminating over the fact that there would have been no room for Augustus in the boat. I never noticed! A most excellent project Whitney Wonka 💜✨🍫
Yes! Me too! I really loved the 2023 Wonk orgin story. I thought it was really well done, and what I really enjoyed was that the story could stand alone without having ever seen the original. Timothee Chalemet was great and Hugh Grant stole every seen he was in! There are other really fun littel nuggets I'll share as we go on this sweet journey!
What a transformation!!! from a normal brown bed to a whimsical out of this world bed 💗💗💗 love how you put your creativity into this bed, it’s amazing 🤩
same about the 2005 movie, I was not a fan in how Depp played Willy Wonka, but I really loved Charlie for some reason more in the newer version. Either way, the idea of living in a magical candy factory is just such a fun thought!
Fantastic bed and I can't wait to see the rest of the room! I can imagine all the midnight snacking that would happening if I had a chocolate river in my bedroom 😂 Love your work! ❤
oh I know! The night snacking would be out of control! I admit that I usually do have a little chocolate before bedtime. as it is..if I had a chocolate room I'd be in BIG trouble! lol
Oh my GOODNESS- I love this bed SO MUCH!!!!! I’m totally going to use Testors on a bed frame for a regular bed - it came out so gorgeous! And nice nod to all 3 Wonka things. I have not read the book, nor have I seen the J Depp version, but perhaps I should…. Thank you for this awesomeness!!! ❤
I love Testers paints, I had not really used them much for my projects until I did the Indiana Jones office and I needed a really metalic gold for the little fertility god statue. Once I used it, the color was so brilliant that I never looked back! Yes, if you are a fan of Wonka, the book is fun, its an easy 150ish pages and since its a kids book its a easy read of course.
@@WhitneyLaBrie Right - I remember! (I think it was me who recommended using Testors paint on the "idol" to punch it up). I just never thought about using it on the wooden posts of a bed. It looks amazing 💘
thank you! I'm so happy you like it! My initial version of the bed was to make it the character of Willy Wonka but then I began to imagine the bedroom differently, I hope you enjoy the journey to the end result!
The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!!! Lol I love that grandpa Joe hasn't been out of bed for years but when Charlie gets the gold ticket he jumps right out of bed!! Lol I grew up on the original but I love Johnny Depp he's from Kentucky which is pretty cool... anyways I love it so far! ❤
Snozzberries! They will make an appearance in the room for sure! lol. I agree about grandpa Joe, and I will touch on that very subject. Johnny Depp is a favorite of mine, I've loved much of his work. I love scary movies (as you know) and he was in the first Friday the 13th and oh how I crushed on him, also in 21 Jump Street too.
@WhitneyLaBrie Yessss... I love Johnny Depp I've watched a lot of his movies and grew up crushing on him too!! See girly were a lot alike!! Lol The original 21 Jump Street or the movie with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill? Me and my niece would just randomly start reciting scenes and my sister hated it lol!!

Willy Wonka fabulous! So creative and reflective of everything Charlie and his adventures! Super, as always! Signed, another non-sewing soul! ❤❤ Kathleen
I'm happy I'm not the only non-sewing person out there, I always tell myself to learn a little at least..but guess what...I never do! lol I'm looking forward to bringing all the elements of the movies and book together in this space! There is going to be a lot going on here!
@@WhitneyLaBrie yes - there has to be a lot going on … it’s Wiily Wonka! I have long ago given up my dreams to learn to sew. I’ve tried and tried - nope! I can and do enjoy sewing by hand, though. But best of all, my sweet husband put himself thru college ages ago by sewing saddles! He’s incredible with a sewing machine. He makes clothes, backpacks, gloves, cushions, etc etc all without a pattern! Can’t wait to see more of your creations! ❤️ Kathleen
There are several little nuggets in the movie along the way like that, kinda cool! I'll try and point out other neat things I've learned as I go along.
Whoa! That’s one cool bed. I love how you incorporated the Wonkatania as the bed. You come up with the greatest ideas. I love the original movie too. I didn’t mind the 2008 one, but couldn’t stand Johnny Depp’s character mannerisms. Never read the book so didn’t know that information about the movie interpretations. Interesting! Looking forward to the upcoming videos!
Yeah I agree about JD, his mannerisms and his social awkwardness with everyone was awkward for the audience too! My goal is to make this room super fun, colorful and of course delicious! Hope you enjoy the journey!
Whitney, I am completely in love with this beautiful project! The YT algorhythm is just sending this to me today and it was posted two weeks ago? I feel like I am late to the party! Can't wait to see more! My father actually WORKED on a paddle wheel boat on a river in Alaska and proposed to my mom in the wheelhouse of the boat. They were married for 50 years. Nautical themes and especially paddle boats have a special place in our family history. Fabulous video.
That's so weird about the algorythem! But I've heard that froma few people now, not sure whats going on. What a cool family history, thank you for sharing that with me. I'm so happy you are enjoying the room so far, it's been such a fun concept to bring to life!
As a Roald Dahl fan I highly approve of this cool little bed. I love the first movie as well, it was so made for the times and Wilder is funky. Can’t wait to see more of your ideas for this fun room! ❤ xx
I loved Gene as Wonka, he was lovable, funny and bizarre..and it was perfect for the times. I'm thrilled you approve of the "Wonka-Bedia!" It was a fun modification and I can't wait for the full room to come together!
This was perfect timing, I had a hysterectomy today, so my stomach is orange like an oompa loompa 😂 Stupendous job, as always, ❤ thanks for being here to make my recovery more fun! 🥰
Thank you! It's so random that I made two beds in a row, I almost went in a different direction because I had just made the pancake bed, but I really needed the Wonka bed cause it's kinda the anchor of this new room!

I love it so far, lots of potential with a Willy Wonka theme. My brother actually has a letter from Roald Dahl! He wrote to him when he was a child, and Roald wrote him back!!
What’s interesting is that it is written on what’s called onionskin paper,it’s very thin and translucent, almost like tissue wrapping paper! Apparently that was a common type of paper for correspondence back in the 1970’s
This is really, really cool! You are so talented and so creative! It is always an absolute joy to see what you come up with next❤ Also I’m not gonna lie… In the original movie that whole tunnel sequence scared the stuffing out of me 🫣
yes, so when I was a kid that scene freaked me out too, and it was the images on the wall like the centipede on the face...barf! When grandpa says" its scary but arent you having fun?!" is kinda of an interesting comment because it makes you realize that you get to decide how you are going to respond to a situation, will you be afraid or will you be excited!? kind of interesting!

This is such a creative idea paying homage to the films and book. The drawing on the pillow was so neat. I thought you outdid yourself with the bacon and pancake bed, but I like this one just as much.
Depp plays Wonka as a socially awkward child and the way he talks to everyone kinda sounds like Mr. Rogers..so he is not as appealing as the way Gene played Wonka. However, the story line is much closer to the book, still filled with lots of candy and magic and worth checking out! Thank you for appreciating the pillow, it's my favorite added detail to the bed.
