    I only went in the old southwest terminal 1 once back in December of 2013 aka the blue box.

    Great video... Piedmont is a legacy carrier, too...their story goes like this...Piedmont merged in to US Air(ways) which eventually was merged into American Airlines.

    Nice video! When I was a kid my dad flew a lot. You could walk out the back door of the one terminal (the one with the Wright Bros inlaid in the terrazzo floor) and be at the planes. *Zero* security. I remember climbing on that metal fence seen in ur vid and being almost at the nose wheel of an Eastern 727 or someone’s DC9 or a Piedmont turboprop which were loud let me tell you! And we got to the airport on a 2 lane road thru the country which doesn’t exist any more

    Can’t wait to see what’s to come at RDU. Air France arrives this month, Lufthansa in June, travel is peaking, and construction is underway. I can’t wait to see what it’s like 15 years from now

    3:53 i know this is a year old but this Midway airlines is the wrong one, this one actually operated in chicago and not raleigh and they went under in 1991, then a different midway came in 1993

    The way you can find out the runway numbers for the old runway would be to find its heading and then divide that by 10, thats how runways get their numbers. Like, if a runway is numbered 36L, this would mean that the runway is pointed at a heading of 360.
