I ended up doing a mono bug run a while ago. My team was sort of similar. I used Crustle, Lokix, Araquanid, Centiskorch, Mega Pinsir and Frosmoth. Ended up winning after 6 attempts. Fun challenge run
Not taking the splicers was criminal. Crustle + Araquanid would have been fun and interesting to see, Stamina and Water Bubble with that Crabhammer....
It would have only kept one ability, when fusing you keep the passive and first type of the first mon, and the ability and second type of the second mon
@@blukins8 stamina is a passive, meaning it would have stayed on the mon

Havent done mono bug yet but did a mono normal and somehow got carried by a sawsbuck, tidy up to get +6 in speed and attack and just spammed body slam or horn leech. Surprisingly good mon in pokerouge IMO

@@darkdecidueye9628 agree, my normal run carries i thought were staraptor but turns out it was birabel and greedent stacking on berries with sawsbuck leech seed

I can't believe it ended in the best possible way.
Shuckle has Salt Cure, and the Ribombee/ Wormadam combo completely wall phase 1 Eternatus. This feels totally possible.
I actually did this challenge myself a little while ago. My final team was Butterfree, Centiskortch, Orbeetle, Paras, Ribombee and Beedrill.
Butterfree took care of most of the game while Orbeetle surprised me at how good it was for surviving Eternatus’ attacks at the end. Paras and Beedrill were just kinda there, Centiskorch’s Fire Spin made the final fight way easier and Ribombee ended up saving the run when I thought Mega Rayquaza was gonna end me thanks to a clutch Quiver Dance set up and sweep.
Took a couple of attempts but was probably some of the most fun I’ve had in this game in awhile!
My 2 victories in classic mode have both been "this was not part of the plan" wins. And ironically both made possible by sudden freeze thanks to alolan ninetales and mamoswine
If you have Double Iron Bash on Scyther and you can quickly evolve it, it's just pure destruction. 180 base power after Technician boost, then Stab, massive flinch chance, and Scizor's 130 base attack...
Don't even get me started on Mega Scizor if you're lucky...
Too bad they nerfed Lokix by changing the passive to Guts
Can you make informative videos on certain pokemons? Like explaining how to use them and stuff. Mainly the non legendary ones. With passives and egg moves I'm having a hard time keeping up and coming up with combinations
Bug is literally the only type that’s challenging then you remember crustle exists LOL
I adore nimble and lokix designs so seeing them destroy everything in these runs has been satisfying!😊

Oohh, wait. Burning Bulwark (or Protect, Detect, King's Shield, Spikey Shield, Baneful Bunker, Obstruct, Mat Block, etc.) + Extreme Speed (or Quick Attack, Shadow Sneak, Zippy Zap, Water Shuriken, etc.) against an opponent that spams Fly (or Bounce, Dig, Dive, Phantom Force, Shadow Force, etc.) Now THAT is a good strategy.
I gotta try to get this idea to work once I start playing Pokerogue!
My first four decent shinies in Rogue were Bug-types. I won't forget my arc as a Bug Catcher.

Beat advice for mono bug is getting a Scizor (Preferably with it's egg move of double iron bash) and make Shure at least one honey gather pokemon is on the team since to my knowledge no bug pokemon have pickup and the extra money is amazing. (Oh also rage powder on volcorona and something else I used butterfree make the final boss not as bad since you can redirect it's moves into a resisted hit)
How do you do the mono type challenges? Is it unlocked after beating classic mode?

I have only the Bug and Grass challenges left to do and I think I'm struggling to find a good bug team, some weaknesses are really incapacitating...

is rayquaza still the best pick for endless? or are there other fusable ones which are a little bit tankier with sturdy or something since rayquaza gets erased if it doesn't outspeed or hang on Focus band
Ribombee is even better now, with tinted lenses. Combine that with shield dust and it could be decent, or just do honey gather for passive income
i’m new to the game but i’ve beat classic about 30-40 times (mostly for voucher pulls), what is the benefit of doing the challenge run? are there any other benefits other than the classic run?

am also doing mono bug type runs, my 1st attempt i reached early 100s, my 2nd attempt i went all the way to 188 but all the attempts afterwards fell off before floor 50 so am kind of stuck i haven't had a good run in a week. I always take adamant pheramosa and if I don't get a protein within the 1st 40 or so floor beast boost starts boosting it's speed instead so that's why there are a lot of dead runs so far.
I didn't start the video but I did a mono bug with:
Araquanid, Ribombee, Escavalier, Shuckle, Vespiquen and Wormadam (ground).

quick answer to the video question. yes you can i completed it in 1 try starting off with heracross, cutiefly, and venipede. this setup does require 1 cost reduction to do. i finished the run with those 3 fully evolved plus durant, lokix, and scizor. id like to add i tried and planned on getting a mega but i never got the mega stone for heracross unfortunately.
What is the difference between finish the classic mode and the challenge mode? You are just adding a "difficult/hard level" in the game for you, right? You do not receive any new reward or something like that, right?

I actually did bug type and gen 7 at the same time because I had just gotten Buzzwole recently.
Can you do these kinda videos on all types, gen, and a combination of both like gen 1 waters only or gen 7 bug only.
Been working on monos for rogue for about a week and a half and I’ve first tried every single one im on rock currently all I have left is flying and ground hardest was poison

I just started playing this game but one run I found a trash wormadam and realized that it is genuinely really good. that was my 2nd best run! Wormadams rise up
For some reason my blue shiny Nymble doesn't show up like his. A few of mine are like that
for me i just use scissor speed boot(as the moument i done it still have it as passive) sword dance gear grind and just oneshot everything
My shiny trash cloak burmy with sappy seed is the best support pokemon I've ever used period
I can’t lie rock was probably hardest for me especially cause I didn’t start with a lileep and had to hunt one down
I ran solo Heracross and ran everybodys shit like it was its birthright

Genesect gets fell stinger by level up at 21 and x-scissor at 42 it sweeps mostly up till like floor 150 it's op can get down to 4 cost
It has tail glow as a egg move so just kill everything
