Grew up around my great uncle who acts as my grandfather. There wasn't a day after school or a weekend I wasn't with him on his 3020 putting work in. Missed that sound. Thank you
Thanks for sharing the video. Thanks for not drowning out the sound of the tractor with music. Beautiful looking 3020 - in it's "work clothes", but yet in good shape. Looks like it is a powershift? 3020 diesel with powershift is very nice setup.
Do you have a transmission temp gauge on that machine? How long do you have to plow to get the needle to unseat? Replaced mine but can't tell if it's working. Thanks for any advance.
I haven’t seen to many of the three bottoms mounted like the one on my 70. But the ones I have found are pretty expensive. I seen one restored for 1,200 bucks.
Check AuctionTime.com . I see them go cheap there fairly often. I haven't been around a JD 70 but if they're like an A & don't have a draft control, you'll probably want a gauge wheel. From what I've seen, mounted plows don't work very good without draft control. Hard to keep at the same depth unless you're on flat ground.
Looks like the front plow is running a lot deeper than the last plow.Notice the ridge that the front plow makes on every pass. Years ago I had a 3020 with a 1250 3 pt. plow with 4 -16’s. Usually strolled along in 5th gear plowing 8 or 9 in deep in sandy loam soil. You have a good looking combination doing a good job. Enjoyed your video!
Kinda hilly out that way if i remember right. anyways what caught my attention was the potato planter . The farm i grew up on had one as well and as little kids we would play on it , brought back many fond memories . Thank You .
On those tractors, the radiator isn't in the front of the tractor, the fuel tank is and the radiator is behind it kinda in the middle of the hood, it pulls in air via those 2 side screens
the thing is we can plow our field cause of the stupid no till, but we have one filed we could plow if we wanted to, but i would like to hook up to plow and plow the garden though lol
we can do like vertical tillage and disk if we put in a cover crop, there was talk that we couldnt even disk ditches to fill them in somewhat, but we have a JD 18780 for corn, which we do vertical tillage on that so thats not an issue, but we have a Great Plains 2020 20ft notill drill, and a JD 515, non no till, which is a real pain to plant with in corn stalks
Douglass Wilkin Agreed - may be the rear furrow wheel stop bolt is set too long, compared to basic starting length in OM. Otherwise good to see the pair out earning their keep. 'Hope spud crop is good next season.
Show the young lady how to properly adjust the plow. The front plow is going much deeper than the last plow. Adjust accordingly so that the furrows turn over smoothly and level. As nicely as the soil is breaking you really shouldn’t be able to count the furrows. You may have to pick a lower gear and pull the throttle down wide open. Don’t lug a diesel engine down, open it up! The muffler will glow cherry red at night and flames will shoot out the top when you are pulling it good. Had a 3020 w/synchro range with a 1250 plow w/4-16s. Would walk in 5th gear 8” deep in sandy loam.
That same Tractor is sitting in my Barn right now. One of the most useful Tools I have ever bought
It sure is! Thanks for watching

Thanks man!! I spent 100's of hours staring over that bonnet, in the 70's and early 80's!! Ploughing wheat fields . Greetifrom South Africa!!!
Nice good old tractor. If it wasn't for the generation of the 2020 3020 4020 etc. John Deere would have never been as popular as they are today
I miss the 3020d sound working. I used to help friend do hay and a 3020d was his main muscle

Love the sound of the tractor. Thanks for not adding music.
A very fine team there. 3020 diesel and a F-145 plow.
Great video nothing like a tractor without a cab the smell of freshly turned soil and diesel fuel Is like sugar in ur coffee
Fine video ! Happily J have the same tractor and plow ! Too top !
I can just smell that dirt...THANKS for sharing the video
Thanks for watching! glad you enjoyed

Nice to see that old girl in the field. What happened to the 70 and the three bottom plow?
we would have used the 70 but we are working on rebuilding the carburetor and fixing the water pump.
Are the three bottom fully mounted plows hard to find? I’d like to have one for my 70.

Hi folks! what is a roll o matic front end doing up the plow? nice vids!
Hombre del campo very good spot to see the roll o matic. Not 100% sure how it got there but just decided to not take it off. Thanks for watching
Not level and colters not cutting.

Nice video . i miss working on the farm now ...
Thomas Marti thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed
I grew up in northern Iowa so it made me kind of nostalgic :)
Nice, we’re from over in north east Nebraska
Kinda hilly out that way if i remember right. anyways what caught my attention was the potato planter . The farm i grew up on had one as well and as little kids we would play on it , brought back many fond memories . Thank You .
Thomas Marti your welcome. We really enjoy making the videos and having fun. Glad you enjoy them
Is it wise to block so much of 5he grill/radiator?
On those tractors, the radiator isn't in the front of the tractor, the fuel tank is and the radiator is behind it kinda in the middle of the hood, it pulls in air via those 2 side screens
Nice tractor. Are you pulling 4/14’s or 4/16’s?
Steel Blue 4/14s
Kool, I grew up on a Dairy farm and we had a 3010 Diesel with a 3 pt hitch 4/14 plow. Nice 4 bottom tractor.
Yes she is a good old tractor, were was your dairy farm? We’re from Nebraska
We were in Sedalia MO.
nice video, she is ahead of me already, cause i have never plowed haha lol
haha thanks, plowing is pretty fun you should definitely try it.

nice job of plowing.
thank you sir!
Rear not getting down.

@@ddow33gmailcom that's the beauty of an integral 3 pt. Hitch plowed versus a semi integral.
You can level an integral with your top link
Are you plowing only in one direction?
john deere must of made a million f145 plows
When you going to adjust the back of the plow you'll plow job sucks
If you would actually put the plow in the ground instead of just flying along scratching the surface you might accomplish something.

so now neither one of you no how or do it right or know how to set up a plow :(
Looks A little shallow
Time to disk and cultivate or chisel plow
You should have someone show you how to run that plow.
gone rydin you should have someone show you how to fuck off
Clever
Ain't that the truth!
Nice response! At least u wont be plowing my farms if you cant see that, just bc its green doesnt always make it right!
The front of the plow is much deeper than the back.Very uneven results. But it still looks as good as my first plowing 50 years ago.
Another plow not set up correctly. Your coulter blades blades are worn out and need replacing
Doodles their worthless anyways just throw the damn things away.
You're not really plowing, get about 4 inches deeper
what's the point if you're so shallow? drop that thing in the ground and actually turn it over.
