Dyno run was scary having no air being blown into the vents. You're going to blow your engine. Garbage results for the price, tbh.

Great video on the COBB ACCESSPORT! I was always wondering what you can do with this as you hear alot of positive reviews on forums. So how does COBB come out with each model's tune? Do they actually test/tune all of those cars on their dyno?

Yes, they are very thorough with testing. They go above and beyond by testing the strength of pistons, etc. Very high quality development with the car for several months. They always leave a little room to get more power but overall one of the best tuning solutions around. Obviously with turbos, you'll see better gains but we're happy with the numbers. We know we can get some more power out once we get the rest of the hardware on, so make sure to subscribe and we'll have updates soon!

I have a 987.1 and added a Soul cat-back exhaust mainly for sound but did not some hp with butt dyno. My question is with a Cobb tune, will it void your warranty? And with the red line increase, isn't that more detrimental to the engine without much gain in WHP? Thanks

We don't have 93 oct in CA. Do I strictly run the profile(s) that refer to 91oct only?

So I noticed that your fuel gauge showed a range of 400+ miles? I have never had my 2014 981 Cayman display anything above 350 miles? Do the wheel sizes impact the fuel estimated ranges? Running stock everything as far as I know.

It calculates based off usage, my guess was it was a full tank and some recent cruising. This is a base 2.7L as well. I'm not sure what mileage we get. I know we saw about 31mpg when we brought it home (all highway).

I was looking at your dyne chart and trying to figure out the actual RPM's of the engine. What gear did you use for these pulls? The 3 HP gain up top was not impressive for the cost of the Cobb, but I am interested in the midrange power gain, if it really is 9 HP then it might just be worth the cost. What do you think the difference in tunes between the 93 octane and the 91 octane that we have here in California would be? Any harm in running the tune in 93 octane but only using 91 octane pump gas?

Unfortunately, with that dyno we would have had to take apart the engine cover to access a coil to read RPM, so we said let's just do speed and get a HP number. Pulls were done in 4th gear. The temperature was 95 degrees. We were hoping for more up top too but not sure if the heat played a role or if we didn't allow enough time for the learning to happen between loading the tune and doing the pull. I doubt it would have a drastically bigger impact but perhaps a few peak HP up top. The Accesport isn't too cheap for the 981 but it really is a great tuning solution that you can load at home and if you want to do a pro tune later, easy to work from. Cobb includes a map for 91 octane. I'd imagine the gains would be similar but you might lose a couple HP overall with 91. Feel free to check out our website, we've got some good information on the Accessport up with some dyno numbers Cobb had tested with.

Is the CTec charger okay for this?

I don't have any hands on experience but it looks like it should do the job.
