I think he is the GOAT, or at least one of the best of all time,,,Not only is he a true power breaker, but his moves and skill set is crystal clean AND he can reallly vibe and is a TRUE dancer, not just and acrobat
@@FCnNEo I can kind of see that. He has variety in skill and well rounded. Haven't seen much of him lately but back in 2009 he was very active. However he lacks the energy,.speed and charisma of Ivan so I wouldn't be able to relate him to Ivan really.
Ivan was a personal friend of minds back in the day, I was a freestyle contest killin emcee, he was a bboy superman, he had hella different moves, and one thing that can't be argued is he was one of the guys who kept this artform alive during an era where mainstream media was trying to kill b-boying, now it's bigger than ever worldwide, he is one of the bridges from the old to the new and he is one the dopest bboy's ever, much respect due, i knew him, partied, smoked, drank, and entertained hip hop crowds with this man and his brother, they went by the manriquez brothers, out in modesto, ca, im from the bay but a traveled to any bboy/emcee event in north cali. i miss those days, i won't lie, don't waste time, you can't get it back.
@@nikittoo1 I moved around alot, I'd say 87 to 92 was nationally dead but bboys were still around, but Das Efx and the techno/house ushered bboying back to the front. DJ's playing 70s breakbeats, freestyle contest, early 90s period, brought it back. Ivan was right in it, from 89 to 91, at the front before everybody was trying bboy again, he was one of the ones keeping it going.
yO i LOVE IVAN... HE WAS ALWAYS KOOL WIT ME... GOT TO HANG N CHILL N TRAIN WIT EM AND DID A COUPLE SHOWS WIT EM...IM ACTUALLY IN A FEW CLIPS IN THIS VIDEO hAhA DATs A GOOD FEELn n MEMORY FAMILIA! 😁🤙 I MISS EM... MET EM THRU BOOGIE T SEC... SPREAD JESUS LOVE AMEN!😁🤙!
Ive been very fortunate to have rocked with Ivan as well as had many long conversations about the dance with him. Ivan is and was a big inspiration. The world will never see another bboy like this. I hope you are well wherever you are homey.
Poder con el mas puro estilo. Eso era ivan cuando bailaba. Mi idolo cuando yo todavía le daba. Saludos y gracias por el vídeo. Pense que solo existia en mi mente.
@MrMieetek Oh wow! Thank you so much! I actually use Shazam to find the music but it looks like it only reached to the one that's not the original. The original is so much better, thanks man! :D
@chezone1 And if you knew anything about "real hiphop" you would know the song is an instrumental to Skhool Yard's "days of our lives" which was released in 2002 on their album "A new way of thinking"
Dude, I think some of the world's scientists need to study Ivan for the possibility that he's an alien from another planet. His speed is literally superhuman.
B-Boy Brian Both have they're place. I love both equally. The kids that skip technic and footwork and only learn power just remind me of gymnasts, There has to be style.
Song name: Skhool Yard- days of our lives Now if someone can turn it into an instrumental like it is in this video and send it to me then that would be ace ;) Peace
@chezone1 Look man I have no quarms with anything, but if you speak to bboy's about the music they listen too when they practice they will often say breaks as their last genre because a "bboy" is a dancer and dancer's tend to understand many types of music which helps their musicality and beat killing. This isn't necessarily a song for "powermoves" and going all out, but I have trained with some pretty well known people and when this song came on, the session went "hype"
One of my favorite bboy videos right here... Even after all these years it's still fresh!
I think he is the GOAT, or at least one of the best of all time,,,Not only is he a true power breaker, but his moves and skill set is crystal clean AND he can reallly vibe and is a TRUE dancer, not just and acrobat
🥷🤙FACTS!🙏
I love how there's still never really been anyone quite like Ivan
His shoulder mills are perfect, no one has this energy
Bboy Flying Budha is probaby closest one we have that resemble Ivan.

Ghacobie Bell This is one of the best comments I've read on a UA-cam video! Thanks for the insight, just finding out about him now.
What is his real name??
beautiful!
How was the breaking scene in the late 80’s in your area? Cause back in LA was dead, I think he slowly brought it back in Modesto in 1990.

sweet vid
ivan is my favorite breakdancer
@TomBreakdancer the Ivan in this video doesn't do hand hops. That's a different Ivan.
windmills are insane
Were can I get this song!!!!
Nome do beat?

Respects to the illest bboy ever. What beat is that!!?? Bananaz!
Dude, I think some of the world's scientists need to study Ivan for the possibility that he's an alien from another planet. His speed is literally superhuman.
