I do believe that they watched this video and based on what they saw, they decided to take a chance, cause so far I haven't heard anything about someone from the 49ners was scouting Brock, when he played here in Ames for Iowa State.
@@WmbAlex I don't know . I've never heard Brian Griese coming here in Ames, and scout Brock for the 49ners. Unless, Griese saw him playing in the Big 12 championship game, Iowa State - Oklahoma Sooners. Brock played great in that game, despite the loss .

With how Brock has been playing recently, especially after his first playoff game, it’s actually insane that I’m just now seeing this video and how he flew under the radar
I'm a lifelong 49ers fan, but I didn't pay much attention to this guy when he got drafted. But looking at his college career numbers & his natural running capabilities. I'm genuinely shocked at how late he was drafted.
Everyone needs to pump the breaks. The odds of a qb drafted that late and having good success is very very very slim. He is literally in the best situation in football. Its a lot easier to play loose and confident when you know you have cmac/the running game, elite pass catchers/seperators, and if you score 20 points you will win the vast majority of games. And not saying he cant be a qb with long term success, or not saying he gets no credit for the niners success but damn at least give it some time. I remember many thought nick foles was some stud. And lets be real, the playoff teams they beat during purdys time were tbay and seattle. So lets all just relax.
@@mendalton804 Why do people keep saying this, "wait & see bullshit"? He's played lights out so far & the 49ers don't need him to play well. He can go 20-35 with 200-250 yards, 1td 1int & the 49ers could still win that game. They don't need to him win the game, they just need him not to lose it for them. If he has a good game, in the form of 250yds 2td & no picks. The 49ers beat the Cowboys. Anything better then that & it's a blowout. The Cowboys literally need him to go out there & lay an absolute egg.
@@keitht24 Yeah, Dak throws 2 Ints and lost the game. Purdy played above average and made 0 mistakes and they won. He was 16-18 when unpressured which means he's pretty dang accurate, but even though he faced the Cowboys who are #1 in Qb pressures, he'll be facing the #1 team in QB sacks in the Eagles. We need Shanahan to enter God Mode in this upcoming game, and as much as it pains me to even suggest this, he needs Deebo to be involved in the run game more.
I think if the game was more competitive he would have had close to 400 yards passing. He basically didn’t really play the second half, because he was up 35-7.
I keep wondering if somebody from the 49ners actually saw this video here, and then the team decided to get him with the very last pick in the draft, cause so far nobody from the 49ners took credit for discovering Purdy. I strongly believe that, they got him cause somebody saw this exact video, and they decided to get him dead last, and pay him almost nothing compares to his teammates.
It’s only astonishing because he has absolutely no pressure on him to make these assessments . He’s just a UA-camr. Scouting NFL players make or break careers, especially when it comes to the QB position. Get it right and you get to keep your job a few more years. Get it colossally wrong once and you could be done inside of one year.
You called this one How in the hell did you see this one coming 6 months ago 😳 Gotta give it to you 👍👍 hopefully he can ride the best team in the NFL to a Super Bowl Victory ✌️
This has aged really well. EVERY single point you made has been demonstrated already by Purdy in the five games he's played thus far, and they're all translating to NFL success. Bravo!
Seriously, watching this it looks just like how he plays with the Niners. It doesn't seem like a fluke at all. It is weird that his game has translated so well.
@@RainmakerXBootyWhy do NFL scouts always get it wrong, they just go for the most athletic looking qb from the biggest school and then wonder why everyone is a bust now. Meanwhile guys like Tom Brady and Purdy go nearly undrafted. I don’t get it something is seriously wrong with the current scouting model
Crystal ball? I watched Brock play 47 games at Iowa State. He is fearless, smart, cagey and has total confidence. He is absolutely a baller. He is Super-Relevant.
As an Iowa State fan myself, it was exciting to see Purdy play here in Ames for four years. Hard to believe that he almost went unnoticed by almost all NFL teams.
I just visited Iowa and attended an Iowa State game and I saw at least 20 Brock Purdy jerseys walking around the stadium. Did you believe he'd be good in the NFL at that time?
As a niner fan this gave me chills. I never heard of Brock Purdy but everything you described here is exactly what we have seen these past 3 games. The Niners found a gem. Bring that 6th Lombardi to the bay.
@encinobalboa I agree trey was what we were looking for but Purdy is just that and is proving it he's 5 and 0 as a third string qb just awesome I wish trey could do what he did in college but seems like he can't and I feel more confident with Purdy then trey but Jimmy is still reliable
@@encinobalboa if the 49ers give up on him, it immediately drops his value. They'll get a single low round pick at best and it's just not worth it. You're better off keeping him as the backup, because what you'll get for him won't allow you to find a decent QB (and Kyle believes Lance can be a starter for this team, so he can definitely be a backup) The extra picks we gave up for him are about to end up being two end of the 1st round picks...
Purdy was quite literally projected to be a 1st round pick before his senior season, Jesus christ the amount of people dickriding this youtuber as if he was the only one is ridiculous
This is really impressive. As I type this, Dec 14, 2023, Purdy has had a very nice NFL career so far. I won't be surprised if he is a Superbowl winner in a couple of months. You were prescient.
There was a play where someone had a clear shot on his blindside while he was in the pocket. He either heard him coming or his senses are just that good but Brock makes him miss bad and then makes the play. His poise is beyond incredible for someone only in his second year.
Purdy is going to change the way QBs are drafted. He’s a huge wake up call that people have been too obsessed with finding the next Mahomes, someone super flashy with a huge arm. When what you really need is someone with really solid fundamentals, good decision making and calm under pressure.
Completely agree. Purdy and Burrow are my favs at the moment. I think franchise QBs can’t be flashy. There’s a reason why RG3 doesn’t play anymore. Next up on the short careers list we’ve got Murray, Hurts and Fields.
@@Aaron-fb1pq so the white QB’s are your favorites and the only QB’s with short careers just happen to be Black huh? I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
About 5 years ago, I read an article about how to predict the success of quarterbacks in the NFL from the draft. I can no longer locate the article, but it had two major points. The first point was that amongst all positions, drafting a QB was a bit of a crap shoot. The reason is (second point) that the only positive correlation that the group uncovered were the number of start in college. The magic number was 30. QBs that started 30 or more games were more likely to succeed. I can not confirm if this has stayed true or not.
(...8 months later on 12/11/22 after Purdy starting for SF and destroying Tampa Bay!) Dude! You nailed this video!! Nobody expected him to do what he did today. Or last week when he came in during the game. He beat two good NFL defenses in his first two games! Crazy
Nobody expected Purdy to do what he did Yesterday... EXCEPT Tank Sports.. He pretty much nailed exactly what Purdy did yesterday from his film breakdown.. Great job
I really like him! I'm hoping he can play good in the pre-season and earn a roster spot. If JimmyG gets traded, Purdy has a chance to earn the backup spot behind Trey Lance
Just found this after the week 3 Giants beat down. Curious to see if you work in scouting. This was an excellent analysis that has been proven at the NFL level. Great stuff.
One of the things I love about the internet is that if someone has an opinion and puts it out there, say finding an NFL quarterback before anyone in he NFL does, it's documented with a date and everything. Very impressive this dude was so ahead of everyone.
Serious props to you. Basically everything you pointed out in this video has shown up in the few weeks he has started for the niners. Feel like we have ourselves a keeper. The force is strong with this one
It’s so unbelievable how you where able to see this coming and this is why I prefer to have a Purdy in my team than a Prescott, Purdy is reliable play after play, no matter the pressure or the circumstances he finds a way. I’m so happy my 49ers got him now we really have a chance of winning the superbowl with such an amazing team
I'm right there with you-Niners for life here! I imagine you enjoyed the beatdown of biblical proportions of Prescott and Dallas tonight! @@samarlt8494as an Iowa State fan myself - and seeing Purdy play here for four years - I was only hoping for one thing, and I believe all other ISU fans were hoping the same. To see Brock drafted, and if he was lucky, to see some playtime, cause we witnessed his talent, and believed that he can play in the NFL. Now the odds of him playing in the NFL were very slim, since he was the last pick in the draft, and according to the coaches and scouts, he didn’t have the arm, he was not accurate, and was not tall enough. But... he proved all of them wrong. Now, are we surprised that he’s doing so well in the NFL? I think we are, cause not a lot of players can do what he’s been doing in the NFL. As a freshman he garnered nfl attention. Sophomore year he leveled off a bit. As a junior he was projected 4th round. As a senior he put a stamp on his career and finished well but many think his junior year was his best season in college, and the teams best season with a fiesta bowl win over Oregon.

Garrappappaplpaolo would have been a top level QB but he panics after a couple hits. We all saw it. Usually followed by 2 interceptions. Purdy is rock solid, smart and fast. Gonna be a good year.
Yeah, Jimmy G would panic sometimes and Purdy is alot more accurate. But I wish him well, he missed a game already. Could never stay healthy enough to play consistently.
Niner fan here after watching the game against Miami. Loved how he stepped into that game like a starter that had been practicing with the 1st team all week. Watching some other videos on him, sounds like the biggest knock on him was his height. Everything he does well, fits perfectly into the offense Shananhan has been running with Jimmy.
Niner fan too. I was impressed with his game management and performance. Went back and watched college highlights. Time will tell but I think he could have some really good success under Shanahan's system.
Lets hope he can "sling it" XD He did amazing for us in the first game, lets hope he keeps the butterflys to a minimum and stays off social media and gives another awesome performance this weekend!
he had the playbook all offseason, jimmy didn’t despite having been with us these last few years. this kid has me very hopeful he can do his thing in the playoffs combined with our run game and defense
I just watched this for the first time after he absolutely destroyed the cowboys in week 5. You were right on the money sir, i think he's here to stay.
Good QBs come from not as great of schools. Josh Allen, Wyoming. Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech, and Brock Purdy Iowa State are just a few. I think with their O-Line not being as strong, they learn to develop and think quickly on their feet. Of course, I'm omitting CJ Stroud, so its not an end all be all metric.
He does everything our organization have been missing in a QB since Steve Young retired. The kid is mobile, can actually throw with accuracy, can go through his targets and see who’s open. He has a lot of growing up to do. But so far, this young man gives our team touchdowns instead of FGs. This team is complete now. Niners literally struck Gold with this 7th round 262 pick. Thank you Brian Griese for taking Purdy.

Iowa farm boy here. Retired in Mesa, AZ - a few miles from where Purdy starred as HS QB. Won player of the year. Then not a nibble from AZ or AZ State. Chose Iowa State. I watched him for over 3 years on TV games - became a real fan! Heard nothing about him in the draft. Then saw him pre-season in a 49ers uniform. Then not a peep - until the Miami game. Now I can't stop smiling! The announcer said, "Purdy did ok coming in when nobody knew him. Let's see how he does when he starts the game next week vs the top 5 defense of the Bucs." Smiling bigger ( 35 -7 ). Then came Brock vs Seahawks super defense. OMG - my mouth hurts from smiling! Steve Young says Brock Purdy "has the Force". Keep on rockin Brock!😀😃😄😁😅😂

Tank Sports hit the nail on the head with this video, how relevant, LOL. I watched this and other Brock Purdy college highlights after seeing his impressive debut against the Dolphins. You are so right, his skills translates to the NFL and showed in his performance, it wasn't luck, it's in his game, exactly what he did at Iowa St. He showed accuracy on the run, zip on the ball thru tight windows, touch over defenders, great anticipation, enough quickness to maneuver in or out of the pocket, poise and courage to get passes off under extreme pressure. I felt so bad for Jimmy G, I thought the season was over for the 49ers but I have no doubt now with the talent the 49ers have and after seeing Brock Purdy's tape that the 49ers won't miss a beat towards a Super Bowl run.
This kid has natural QB1 abilities.... After he was doubted from start to finish throughout the draft. He's now the starter for a legit Super Bowl contender in his rookie season. From Mr. Irrelevant to Mr. Relevant 💯💯💯💯
4 year starter is a huge advantage. He reminds me of Brees. I think Brees was a 3 year starter. Herbert was a 3 year starter and seemed already used to the speed and defenses in the NFL. There are more examples throughout the years too. These guys are a little bit older, more mature and seem to be film junkies. Well done sir.

As a Niner fan. It’s amazing seeing his college highlights because he looks exactly the same. I think his problem is he makes everything look easy. And does such difficult things that you don’t even notice. Even his athleticism when unnoticed. Every other QB in his years draft looks like they’ll be a bust. And Purdy has the chance to carve out a really special career
Here’s what I was thinking about Purdy the other day. He just makes the right plays. Initially I called it luck because of the talent he’s surrounded by but this video solidifies the fact that he just does makes the plays when it needs to happen. When you said he’s a “chain mover” and just finds first downs it perfectly explains who he is.
He’s this generations Tom Brady, I know that’s hyperbole to say but it’s the same thing that made Tom under appreciated: he just makes the right reads and makes the right plays based on what he sees. Very instinctual but at the same time using real time knowledge to break down where the ball needs to go when it needs to be there. The touch is amazing too who needs a huge arm when you can put the ball where you want it to go and you know the defense like the back of your hand
After what Brock has done against Miami and now Tampa Bay I think you should be working for an NFL team as a scout! Great call! He's got heart and he's probably a genius on some level. Stuff you can't teach. Keep up the great work. Super video! You basically predicted what's happening now in the NFL for him...!

I'm watching this video after seeing brock win 6 straight for the niners and lead them thru a post-season win against the seahawks. Absolutely spot on.
If this kid was the missing piece all along for the Kyle Shanahan offense, holy crap. So far, so good. I really liked Jimmy G especially this year, but he had a clear ceiling that Shanahan wasn't willing to hit. In 2 games, I'm seeing those improv skills and evading skills you talked about, which led to touchdowns. Brock seems to have a higher ceiling that Jimmy G. I love his attitude when he says "I don't really feel like I'm playing a game until I take a big hit." He's got that fire
Holy shit. The window throw over the defender at 2:00 is soooo identical to a pass he had against Dallas. Threw it to BA and over Van Der Esch to where he just barely couldn’t touch it. And it just placed perfectly for BA for a first down

Amen. I was a jimmy fan and apologist, he did well for the franchise and made us relevant and made people wanna play for us. Not to mention he had us up 10 pts with 7 mins left in the Super Bowl and did his job. But this dude looks legit man. Accurate and pretty spiral. Maybe arm strength isn’t amazing but if you put it in the spot you want it doesn’t matter. Drew Bree’s but he can move around in the pocket. Does he have the mind of Bree’s? Probably not. But hope so.
He also has great chemistry with JJ and the backup TE, probably from taking 2nd team reps with them. But he looked really comfortable throwing them the ball.
Who’s here after he made it to t he Super Bowl thats awesome( I know he lost but still being the last pick and then going to be the starting qb of a superbowl team is awesome)

The NFL is going into this we need a QB like X. No you need a good QB, not Josh Allen. This idea you can find another guy like another or keep up with the Jones just allows for an absolute bust to be drafted where they have no place being drafted.
@@jaseallenson316 and most of the miami game, but ye let's see how he does against the cowboys.
This guy did phenomenal today against the Bucs. He made throws 49er fans haven’t seen in a long time. Bravo Purdy.
For real.
💯
I think if the game was more competitive he would have had close to 400 yards passing. He basically didn’t really play the second half, because he was up 35-7.
@@christopherwharton6022 he only had 3 pass attempts in the 2nd half. He really didn't need to throw the ball that much
facts i be so scared when he throw the ball cuz im not used to mahomes level play like purdy givin us
The fact that this guy saw the value in Purdy before the entirety of the NFL is astonishing! And what’s crazy is that this is SO accurate
Yeah it is. Not to discredit this guy but everybody says this about almost every QB. Some just get lucky and they hit on their prediction.
@@soziahz8412 So, Why did others scouts discredit Purdy?

Crystal ball? I watched Brock play 47 games at Iowa State. He is fearless, smart, cagey and has total confidence. He is absolutely a baller. He is Super-Relevant.
As an Iowa State fan myself, it was exciting to see Purdy play here in Ames for four years. Hard to believe that he almost went unnoticed by almost all NFL teams.
Same here I got to see every year at Iowa state. Loved him and Hakeem butler and Charlie Kolar over the years in isu
All good adjectives to describe him. I like the mention of his caginess especially.
Im a hawkeye fan and a niner fan and I’m his biggest fan but let’s not pretend he didn’t make some absolute head scratching plays at isu lol

Trey experiment is very close to being over. Niners should trade Trey while the rest of the league still thinks he is a top prospect.
We don’t care what fan you are
@encinobalboa I agree trey was what we were looking for but Purdy is just that and is proving it he's 5 and 0 as a third string qb just awesome I wish trey could do what he did in college but seems like he can't and I feel more confident with Purdy then trey but Jimmy is still reliable
@@encinobalboa if the 49ers give up on him, it immediately drops his value. They'll get a single low round pick at best and it's just not worth it. You're better off keeping him as the backup, because what you'll get for him won't allow you to find a decent QB (and Kyle believes Lance can be a starter for this team, so he can definitely be a backup)
The extra picks we gave up for him are about to end up being two end of the 1st round picks...
Man, you're the only one that made a scouting report on him. He's now one win away from the Super Bowl. Good job sir

A little bit reminiscent of a 3rd round draft pick by the 49ers with an iffy arm and not very athletic.
Exactly what I am thinking! I wonder if there's a guy like him this draft or 2024??

That's exactly what I think when I see him play with the 49ners. He plays exactly the same way he played at Iowa State.
Absolutely, he moves those chains and methodically drives the team down the field. He is money! His downfield vision is something else!

Okay. So I am back here on 8th Dec 2023 and it's still crazy how accurate EVERY SINGKE THING this guy stated has translated..just wow.
It’s crazy! He’s a legit MVP candidate🔥
@@TankFantasySportsjust a question out of curiosity. Are you from Iowa and an Iowa State fan? Cause seems to me, that you know a lot of things about Iowa State.
That back shoulder throw is the EXACT throw he threw to Brandon Aiyuk against the Steelers and nailed it right in the tiniest wedge between Aiyuk's shoulder and the defenders' deflecting arm. Amazing accuracy with this being one of his best examples.
Less than 2 years later the dude is the mvp favorite on the best team in the league and is arguably the best qb in the NFC
Comments like this are why he has haters bruh. He’s a good quarterback, fringe top-10, who is bolstered heavily by a great scheme and offensive weapons
@@keithbogansburner4343isn’t that any QB tho,
@@grizzlevorhees8054 no because if you actually put an elite qb on the niners we are talking about one of the greatest teams to ever exist. Purdy is fringe top 10, not “the best qb in the NFC”
Interception King fr
Lamar is unanimous MVP now 😊
My cousin went to the same college as this guy, same class and everything. Brock Purdy is described as being the coolest guy on the campus.
You actually nailed it on Everything, Shanahan literally calls plays to his strength aka (throwing inside the numbers) and he’s mastering all the anticipation throws, good decision making and CLUTCH BROCK PURDY IS CLUTH
The funny thing is this video is an understatement
best comment
Omg! Honestly never had the chance to see him play in college, but seen him after he came to San Fran. First time I seen him in the pre season, I wanted them to hand him the team right then and there! What's even crazier is this footage you show, are all the throws and touchdowns from recently almost to the T! Please go check them out
This is absolute gold. My man, you know your football and out scouted the entire NFL.
This aged so well.
I go back to this video at least twice a year and it amazes me how good this breakdown is lol. Absolutely crazy
Dude… you deserve all the credit in the world for this video. Absolutely incredible job. Subscribed
After the game with the Dolphins, this video could not be more relevant.
this guy is a better scout than all NFL level professional scouts. damn, great vid
Well now he’s in the super bowl
Now here is a video that aged VERY well!
Extremely well
I thought it was over when Jimmy went out. By the end of the game I was saying game looked no different if Jimmy was not hurt. Also looks like this kid has faster wheels and elusiveness. Feel bad for Jimmy, but that's football and looking forward to seeing what BP can do.
Brock just got handed keys to a Ferrari…Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, McCaffrey and Juice 😮
Couldn’t have picked a better offense to be a part of !
He also has great chemistry with JJ and the backup TE, probably from taking 2nd team reps with them. But he looked really comfortable throwing them the ball.
don't forget to give trent williams some credit, huge key piece
Who’s here after he made it to t he Super Bowl thats awesome( I know he lost but still being the last pick and then going to be the starting qb of a superbowl team is awesome)
Aged like a fine wine.
You ain't lying
It's impressive that you spent so much time on Brock and even more impressive how spot on you are. Well done.
Now he’s in the SB
This aged real well. Seriously. Nice video.
THIS MAN GOTTA BE FROM THE FUTURE BECAUSE THIS WAS AN INSANE CALL
Spot on analysis.
This aged incredibly well.
Looked like an elite and a game changer QB then and looks like it now.
The best analyst I’ve seen about Purdy by a long shot and waay ahead of everyone else! Good thing he came to the niners instead of Pittsburg, bang bang 🎉
damn. this man called it 100%. 9ers need to pick this man up ASAP on our scouting team ASAP.
Purdy was projected as a 1st round pick before his senior season. This guy didn't do anything special but not overthink it
The NFL is going into this we need a QB like X. No you need a good QB, not Josh Allen. This idea you can find another guy like another or keep up with the Jones just allows for an absolute bust to be drafted where they have no place being drafted. Every TV personality that hyped Trey Lance to the first round should be fired. I don't say Zach Wilson because his problem is between the ears and not normal off-the-field problems. He is just immature and needed a year or 2 of being coached up with no pressure to be the guy from day 1. He was set up for failure.
