Hey Logan, I’m Arab from Oman and I have visited Egypt once and never again. What really makes me sad about this whole scam is that they knew exactly what they were doing and had no shame but to laugh on your face. The guy at @14:44 said in Arabic “he’s filming while we are scamming him” then he asked you in English“why”. Shame.
I will never go to Egypt because the government condones thievery like this. They've allowed visiting some of the greatest wonders on the entire globe to become an absolutely miserable, stress-filled experience. What should be a beautiful and transcendent once-in-a-lifetime trip to see these marvels of human ingenuity has unfortunately devolved into a haven for scammers, thieves and beggars. These people seem to operate with complete impunity, but, hopefully, the more videos that would-be tourists see of what a sordid hellscape surrounds the Egyptian pyramids, the more tourism to this country continues to plummet. And maybe only THEN will the government finally do something about this free-for-all extortion racket. But, until then, I will keep supporting the channels of any travel vlogger who exposes this nightmare in the hopes that no one ever travels to the pyramids again without fully comprehending the abject misery that is in store for them.
The scam begins when some dude enters your taxi ride and you are being friendly instead of freaking out as you should have done. Despite people claiming Uber being super safe, they do that to the uber passangers too.
As far as I can see the taxi driver is not involved in the scam. He asked someone for directions and the dude entered the car. After that he guided the taxi to his shop. Interesting to see this quite elaborate scam on video
@@MarvWe Yeah, maybe. I was in a cab myself, in which the driver didn't know how to get to the Pyramids from the center of Cairo . Despite the most well known landmark of Egypt in the world. Taxidrivers have no clue how to get there.

Egypt is currently facing a crisis that includes oppression, poverty, political instability, and the inaction of politicians. It is a devastating situation that has led me to remove this country from my list of places to visit. It is disheartening that tourists are expected to endure such an oppressive atmosphere and tourist traps as if we were mere cash cows. It is always the burden of tourists to bear the shortcomings of governments. At some point, it is necessary to hit them where it hurts, by not contributing to this cycle that perpetuates the parallel system. The world is vast!

at 17:30 from what I understand they were negotiating with the guy who owns the carriage and only paid him 25, and pocketed the rest. it's a good thing that you have made a video out of it so other travelers can learn about the local scams
My man from New York isn’t getting scammed in Egypt or anywhere else. They paid the carriage 25 Egyptian pounds and kept 25 Egyptian pounds which isn’t much at all in Egypt but the taxi could have stopped at the entrance. But if the government organized tourism better and ppl didn’t treat tourists like money bags they’d make more in tips and improve tourism overall.
I'm from Kuwait and I live here in Ohio. Never Been To Egypt and I NEVER WILL. You've been robbed 3 times already. the taxi took 100 when its 80, that second scammer in the taxi took 25 from the 50 you paid for the "carriage" (if that's what they call it there) and told the other guy to "milk" you (as in "squeeze" you) for more money. 3rd comes the camel ride was less than an hour. Those Egyptians are bunch of hustlers where ever they go, unfortunately.
Omg 🤦🏻♀️ my flight is literally after 3 days to Egypt and I was really excited to visit the pyramids, but after watching this video like I’m really disappointed ! ☹️
I am Egyptian and it happened to me with my family they wants 700 pounds and my husband negotiate to pay 250 only and I was so upset because I don't want a camel or a carriage I also just want to walk around they are very bad people and they made a bad reputation to our country and absolutely the government is tha main responsible for these hard life that we live in.
Dear Tourist. those scammer live on what they gain and they are so ignorant with an immoral culture and no one is efficiently teaching them the consequences of their mischief behaviour . they consider the foreigners an easy catch and a non muslim is not appreciated and could be in danger in case of conflict -just like in any other Arab country- so when yoy're back in NY , do not encourage anyone to visit Egypt . And if absolutly necessary, urge them to go with a group with an acredited tour guide company booked & lisenced abroad . Never deal directly with public never.
From 17:15 to 17:40 the guy who Logan initially was bargained basically took 25EGP and let the driver keep 25EGP. In other words this ride was no more then 25… this is how these guys work, they’ll tell you a crazy price and then split it amongst one another based on how much it actually cost. Same as the ppl who lure you into a store and hand you off to the shop owner, they get a kick back if they sell you something for a crazy price
hey guys im from egypt and this is not the egyptian people but to enjoy ur trip in egy its better to be with an egyptian friend or any egyptian u do really trust

Watched one Egypt scam video and that lead me to a dozen more videos....I have now crossed Egypt off my list of places to visit.
Omg 🤦🏻♀️ my flight is literally after 3 days to Egypt and I was really excited to visit the pyramids, but after watching this video like I’m really disappointed ! ☹️
what happened to your flight
14:45 he said he’s recording while we scamming him 😂
No, he said "Let him film, we aren't scamming him"
@@princeicioNo he Said " Let him film , We are scamming him "
I am Egyptian and it happened to me with my family they wants 700 pounds and my husband negotiate to pay 250 only and I was so upset because I don't want a camel or a carriage I also just want to walk around
they are very bad people and they made a bad reputation to our country and absolutely the government is tha main responsible for these hard life that we live in.
The entrance to pyramids look like entrance to the prison 🤦🏻♂️ (dirty, dark, zero decorations)
It's called the Pyramid scam
well done Logan. would love to see you there again and give them what they deserve. please revisit them and show them who's the boss. 2 thumbs up
At 24:12 you got cussed out xD. Great patience man. I would have lost loll
He said somthing no good 😢
@HamoudiLumon instead of it he used a vulgar word to throw his anger
hey guys im from egypt and this is not the egyptian people
but to enjoy ur trip in egy its better to be with an egyptian friend or any egyptian u do really trust
I hate it wen they try to scam nice people bro
Wow what a scammy racket that was getting there. At first I was thinking dude you're from new york, why are you going along with the guy getting in your taxi, and the obvious scam. But then I thought well you're in it now and you were pretty composed, stayed calm, and stuck to your guns about no tour despite heavy pressure.
It was definitely a setup the way the taxi driver didn’t take me right to the gate
12:46 Looks like a scam gone wrong..😆l been all over N.Africa, M. East, E.Africa Asia in the 60,s 70,s The scams still the same, i just subed, and you take care over there LOGAN...
Thanks man. What countries have u been
معاملة زبالة. صحيح
ياريت كل سائح يكون معه كاميرا مخفيه
14:47 the guy sitting with an injured arm said “hey be careful he is filming you” and the guy talking to you literally replied with “ Dude let him film us as we are trying to scam him” and then he asked you about the camera if it’s working or not, after that his friend “the guy from the taxi”comforted him by saying “Don’t worry he is not filming you because you are scamming he filmed in the car too”
I am Egyptian and u are absolutely wrong he said let him film we are not trying to scam him
So if it’s 20 km to get to the pyramids, and the horses take 10 minutes to get there.. they’d be going 120km/h😂
Logan i appreciated ur smart u know they want to scamm u good job
I am your new subscriber,,from phiippines!☺️
Thank you for supporting! :)
The guy with the horse took 25 the other guy did nothing and took 25 as well .. as an arab man I understood everything.. they all want to take something out of you
When the guy stepped into the taxi and started speaking fairly good English my Egyptian scam alarm was going mental 😆
I feel disgusted hearing what they were saying in Arabic …. They milked you good ….. next time don’t be so friendly…
You are too pure to travel alone man, but this the best way to learn...
the country deserves terrorist destruction
Bro I'm Egyptian. And I feel so sorry for you to meet this kind of people. Real Egyptian people ain't like that we share same suffering. I go through same shit you have been. The government and tourism ministry use these beggars to fraud over the tourists. I feel really sorry for what you went through. Egypt lives the worst times ever under the military regime. For god sake I don't know why the freakin government are still using uneducated people and beggars in this significant touristic places. This is a crime against toursists and even the human-being. As an Egyptian I recommend you not to come back to Egypt at least in these hard times. Just for your safety. I put myself in your place and I was pissed off along the whole video. I'm sorry again for you and for my country to become like this way 💔
It’s alright. I know not all Egyptians are like that. I met very nice people like u along the way that were very helpful
@@loganmcgurk You're such a nice person, Logan. I like the way you controlled yourself against that bullshit. And thanks alot for documenting these moments, so the world could see how cruel is that regime and how native and non-native civilians got treated. Wish you all the best, dude ❤️
Respect to you for recognizing that there is a problem unlike other egyptians you dont talk it good. Only then change can come and one day your country and its people will be better! You have a good heart brother. Greetings from Germany!
I travelled to Egypt 2006, and I swear not to do it again 😊
Not only Egypt like that , U can take tour guide if u are going to pyramids , every day i see in my city , Alexandria , a lot of tourists without tour guide and they are happy and no one is annoying them . Come to Egypt u will really enjoy it
The driver indirectly changed his plan by selling him to those guys
300, including the entrance fee is a good deal, though 👌
19:36 look at Logan 😂😂😂😂
Just stop answering back and theyll shut up eventually
That’s exactly what I do! Although some scammers are more persistent than others, but if they don’t accept my fair price for a camel ride then I totally ignore them as if they weren’t there and move onto the next one, they will quickly see that it’s a lost cause and give up.
New sub my friend I love this content
Imagine being kidnapped and staying with your kidnappers
Ayyy bruhh drop more 🔥🔥🔥
To visit a country like this you have to carry an ATM with you
😂
They see you like a walking ATM
Bro, you jumped from 50 to 80 very quick. 🤣🤣
Disgusting scammers putting tourists in danger. Always ask the people where you are staying the best taxi or uber to trust.
You made a big mistake when you agreed to pick up a guy from the street and then made you stop to haggle with a bunch of scammers. Do not do it again , for most of them consider you as a bag of money.
Bro u can pay only in the gate no other payment u can walk only
The taxi driver was a part of that scam. He should have driven you to the entrance of pyramids. He made a deal with those scammers and drove you to their area instead of the pyramids. I'm Egyptian and it's sad to see what you went through 😢.
The most nasty guy in the world is in the back of the car
I hope these scammers aren't the norm in that place
They are hahahahaha
@@loganmcgurk Thats for sure, My worst scam was from a COP in Manila Got to hands on, and lost my Seamans ID book, so had a problem with Ships Captain over that, 25$ fine, and the ship had to pay a load of cash for me pushing the cop! Be Careful mate
"I am not a boy I'm a man." What was this guy talking about?! I'm dead rn 😂 This process probably takes longer than one would spend visiting the actual Pyramid sites! If i had to go through all this, i'll visit the Pyramids thought the eyes of UA-cam content creators 🤣 Even the Ancient Egyptian Gods must be laughing and aggravated! Omg...
Brother Logan, Hi
Iam Egyptian guy, I am sorry for your travel in here but not all people like that the people in here is so beautiful and helpful but some people like that so I am sorry and when you will go to Egypt again can you tell me and I will go with you enywhere... Iam sorry again Bro and I hope you will visit Egypt again and I will see you❤️
❤I am Egyptian, and I apologize to you for what happened. You are a very good person. Welcome to Egypt, but next time you have to be careful, or at least you must have an Egyptian person with you in order to be able to deal with this type of people. ❤🇪🇬🇺🇸
one trick is not to smile and laugh so much, low ball them as much as possible on prices
I'm Egyptian and I'm very sorry for what happened, but I blame the Egyptian government and the President of Egypt for allowing fraud. I apologize to you once again.
I hope that next time you will come and find Egypt in a better condition❤❤
I'm so sorry for you 😢
the way they pretend they dont understand you. i lived in iraq for 2 years as a contractor. i lived with iraqis, ate with them, worked with them - they understand what you are saying. when they pretend they dont, suddenly showing anger now they somehow get the picture.
