That should be 160 MPH, the narrator goofed and got it wrong. Their *average* speed for a lap is over 190 KPH. Be aware that these are only 600cc street bike engines, as well.

i think you would like WRC rally racing its drivers racing on public roads that they haven't raced before so they have a co driver that reads pace notes to tell them where to go and its done in any weather all across the world.
The iron balls of these guys keeps the bike balanced. The bigger the balls, the better the balance😉
The passenger seems to ‘read’ the bumps of the track akin to reading braille. Feel the track instead of seeing it.

There are other Videos showing how they build sidecars, most are family members like father and son or brothers, there are a couple of women's teams and there not bad, the passenger has to be top fit and have a specific weight, around 75 to 85 kilos to put weight on the drive wheel for righthand corners, then on the sidecar wheel for left-hand corners to stop them flipping over and to help in braking, last year a father and son team died in there sidecar, there has been more but the love of racing keeps them going, its the same with the bikes doing 200+ mph, great riders like Connor Cummings and Mike Dunlop now his family have lost so many to the TT its unbelievable that he still races, there is a documentary on the Dunlop family with race clips, again with great information about the TT, enjoy. 😊

there has to be huge trust between the two crew members, and the passenger has to move before the enormous sideways G forces pin them down - it takes a lot of strength & experience to get it right. The monkey needs to be super fit with good upper body strength

Hi I live in North Wales and love you both like sidecar racing and can I recommend you watch sidecar Motocross because I was a passenger in the early 90 s and it's a really tough sport to compete in I think you will love it 😃👍💯
Not as fast but you should check out Moto cross sidecar racing with there Jumps etc. Think Eli Tomac with a passenger on the side.
I've never been able to work out which is crazier, doing this at 150mph or doing it off road

IoM TT has to be the deadliest sport. If you want to check out hardest/toughest sport you need to check out what UK Royal Navy use to do. The fieldgun tournament. There's clips of the actual races at the tournaments but you might want to check out the longer program where they detail the training they had to do to get to the level they were at. Great reactions by the way.

They canned the 1000cc sidecars years ago. Nasty habit of getting airborne. Oh, and never pick a fight with the "monkey", swinger. Apart from being mental they're incredibly fit and strong.

I worked for Brian Pane tranzac exhaust he had the fastest Sidecarin the world on speedway and road a 0W31 square yamaha 4 motor tricked reed valve and exhaust more than the standard 144 hp back in about 76 77 yzr 750cc 0w31 yamaha. Yamaha sponsored him and old Stan Bayliss to go to south africa and old stan bayliss went and he didn't do well as he only knew australian tracks because he had to admit his eyesight wasnt to good and was stopped from racing all together
Oh wow that’s crazy. What an experience for you as well. To me it feels like more of a positive of how he was able to be successful racing because of his study of the track regardless of his visionary faults

i would suspect that they now have comms, but I would expect that there is not the time to do this, wind noise ,engine noise make accurate comms pointless, its purely 99% trust that the guy you are riding with knows how to do his job, like servicemen, you trust your comrades like your life depends on that trust
Horrible commentary - electronic script reader I guess - SNUFELL mountain course? SNAY-FELL is how it is pronounced. My family lives at the 11th milestone, Cronkbane - and TT is the nice annual earner. Balls of steel, no doubt about it. The "Closer to the Edge" documentary is my personal favourite for trying to explain the TT - and there is the lesser known amateur version at the end of summer, the Manx Grande Prix. Anything by Guy Martin is also worth checking out - a household name, and some great tv spin offs, since his appearance and fireball in Closer to the Edge.
