It's less complicated because the card pool is tiny, nothing about the ruleset itself sounds simpler than traditional TCG's. Maybe the action economy and turn system makes it feel simpler but that also makes your plays more speculative and combo strategies will be hard to achieve.
I got the new expansion but haven’t gotten to play with it yet. I do hope they keep releasing stuff, and a big hope is if they make another crowdfunding campaign there’s an option to get a big box for it. Even if I’m just buying the box.

Sounds like how Zee felt about the core Marvel United. I'll be interested to see where this goes after the expansion.
