I love this track so much. To me, this is the ultimate flex by Pete and Bas. They're good, they know they are, and they're just going out and doing what they want. Big shout-out to Handsome Dexter as well, beat was 🔥
That fact that BAS is a trained professional musician that can write, as well as play the piano, trumpet, saxophone, and several other instruments is a big plus.
3:16 - Constant innovation without losing their soul. And the massive width and depth of their references and experience, and the absolute conviction with which they deliver... Fuuuuu
I will never get tired of seeing people unable to comprehend how Pete and Bas can be this good. I'm still shook every time. I reckon they should send for some old US heads that haven't had the output recently, ask where the fuck Cube is, what Dre's been spitting lately etc. Play up a jokey beef but really just be calling out the industry for the ageism and writing people off once they're 'too old to rap'.
I bet Dre and Cube would lose their shit seeing these guys rap like this. I've listened to rap and hip hop all my life and I have to say this is probably one of the most confusing but impressive things I've ever seen. They're so damn good but with their age and where they're from throws me for a loop every time.
This reaction channel is actually the best there is. The edits are on point. Your commentary is fire. The button is 🔥. Every time u hit that makes me hit the like button lol
I think what some people dont realise is that a lot of their flows are borrowing from or hark back to a reggae/dancehall/island sound and i think thats why parts of their songs can sound so familiar or just get you up dancing before you even know it.
Yoooo the fucking levels. I can't. "Dipped in the sauce" can mean getting drunk in the UK. Leads into the champagne bubbly. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!? P&B are fucking genius.
I really appreciate the translations of some words that maybe those of us outside the U.K/Europe won't understand or that has a different meaning in the context of the song to what it would otherwise.
The best thing is the reaction from krxovr, it's just so great to see someone who loves something so much that he becomes a true expert and see a person like that be amazed and impressed with something he hasn't heard before.... magical reaction
I love how you guys break it down. IMO one of the musical things about drill style is the kicks and high pitch repetition here and there. Like for a techno it’s boom tis boom tis boom tis boom tis but with drill it’s boom boom tiss tiss tiss boom tiss tiss boom tiss ti ti ti tiss ti boom tiss boom ti ti ti ti ti ti tiss boom boom. It’s like the repetition of high hats and kick would almost make the beat sound off if not for the instrumental melody in the background, and it makes the rapper bend his flow around the beat. It kind of reminds me of a “twisted” form of breakbeats, and seems to open many unique and unexpected possibilities for flows.. I❤it great reaction
Thank you for the comment! I appreciate that you took the time to share this. I'm laughing in my head because I read this and heard the beat in my head LOOOOOOOL. But I think you're spot on!
I dont know what they are saying in the reaction because this isn't a type of music I listen to so don't know the terms.... but listening to this beat has me moving. This is a cool piece. I'd actually like to hear more from them.
so as someone who follows P&B on the Gram it seems like this video was shot in partnership with something called 'Brazzers', which might explain that skeevy-looking man in the bandana
You talk about "Is this drill or is it not" Whats the diff between drill and gangster rap? All the drill guys today are just talking about the same things as old school gangster rappers back in the day like Wu Tang or NWA.
I gotta make a whole video about this tbh because the answer is, "it depends." Drill isn't just about conTENT; it's conTEXT. On one hand, Drill has its own culture that is very specific to modern gang violence, but on the other hand it's a very specific sound. The lines between what it is and what it isn't are so blurry that they really is no one answer.
Castro doesn’t even have the same flow or style though. Plus cas’s output isn’t high enough to match these guys. Also, the fact that these guys can freestyle live shows that they must at least have some input in their bars.
I've seen a couple videos of these old heads, and honestly the little I've heard is better than 99% of the mainstream rap I've heard for a few years
“Four-man down in the four-door
Four-by-four with the four-wheel drive engaged” hardest bar I’ve heard in a while
Crazy Bar yo. Been quoting it since I heard it.

I love the mexican feel to this song ☺ every track is completely different from the last
That's not Mexican that's a Dominican/Puerto Rican vibe..
