It took all of them to fail to finally realize that the only reason people listened to their group was because of Malin. She should have been a solo act all along the others really did nothing for her except get in the way of a larger career she should of had.
They all wanted the spotlight but none of them had the natural Talent Linn had and she felt the jealousy brewing. You watch their interviews over the years and all you see is them push Linn into the background. You listen to the demo's and Malin's voice was beautiful and shining on them and then in the final mix of the songs Malins singing role is reduced and over saturated with her sisters not so amazing vocals and her brothers giving themselves little raps or things to say.Those songs sucked and never did as well. They should have taken a hint that the only songs they had where it topped charts were the ones Malin sang 95% of the song and the rest of them were just in the background. She lost interest in music because behind it the group fought often. They were all being selfish and unrealistic about their own talents. Then made up excuses as to why Linn wasn't around as much. She had enough of the drama of the group.
Clive Davis really did try to push Malin into a solo career but she saw it more as a betrayal to her siblings especially Jenny who always wanted to be the star singer (without the star singer vocals). It sucks because she would have done so much better with real producers and song writers creating material for her. This poppy reggae stuff was like a fraction of her true vocal capabilities. If you listen to Lapponia and Every time it rains you can hear her vocal brilliance. Such a tragic shame.

You atr 50% right, but the truth is that Malin herself did not want fame and she was shy person, other members of group never wanted to push her back, she wanted herself, she was suffering from some kind of psychological and maybe biological problem, i adore her and reed lot about her, i recommend to you to read more about linn
@@imangenerous3321 You are right! She said it many times over and over in her many interviews during the mid 90's that "She wanted to sing, but she never wanted to be a singer".. Clive Davis forcing her to sing "Every time it Rains" was the last straw.. From that point in 1998 she began to fade slowly until her last appearance in 2002.. Malinn was my crush during my teenage years.. Her image and songs brings back happy memories 😥 I'm hoping she will agree on a reunion with Ace of Base, but that was a wishful thinking since she was traumatized by FAME and never wanted to do anything from it..
To those who believe whatever is said on media is always true are just so naive. Of course things need to be said in proper way so that it shouldn’t damage the reputation of the band.
For exmpl, the band said Linn was camera shy, really? Think again and observe in almost all the videos she’s most comfortable around cameras and she has a star quality. It’s obvious she wasn’t camera shy. On the other hand jenny was dying to be in the spotlight ever so. if you watch many videos you can see the pattern e.g. the signature face expressions of Linn was copied. Overall the body language and everything is all reflective of how desperate she was to be in the place of Linn.
