Normani is a great performer, like Beyonce. Normani could dance and deliver sass. Not only that, but there aren't many mainstream pop acts that go all out for their performances so Normani stands out even more. Most of the time, we get pop singers who will do simple movements with their legs and hands every other 20 seconds of their performance. Normani delivers a solid performance throughout the whole song.
But Blacka Magic is right. Whenever she performs, she's never singing live. You don't hear her singing over a back track. There's just back track. How do we know This?
Fifth Harmony was notorious for not having breath control. Normani did not have great breath control. Could she have improved? Sure. But you're really gonna tell me she's dancing around, arching her back, kicking her legs in the air, skipping through stage, jumping, and doing a shit ton of choreo, and her voice doesn't even get pitchy? Like if a girl jumps, you'd hear their voice rise and fall.
It even happens to Beyonce. It has nothing to do with technique or fitness. If you jump while singing, squat down and kick your leg forward, you will hear your voice change.
I'm rooting for Normani, but girl can't sing live. If she sits on a stool, yeah she could sing. But she can't dance around and sing simultaneously like Beyonce could.
