DUDE! Thank you so much!!!! I've been a woodworker and cabinet maker for a couple decades now. I've never messed with CAD or CNC. Thanks for making these! I feel a lot less trepidation about using my new Shapeoko.
Awesome Video!! I’m going to download these and keep them!! I just bought a Shapeoko 3 XXL, and I was a little worried about learning new software. This video series has gotten rid of my apprehensions. Thanks
Love the videos just bought the xxl still playing with it, i was playing around in design mode and was using the move screen found it useful for centering text if you have several rows. If your wood is X600mm x Y400mm put in your text then hi-lite it leave your dot in the center of move and on top line(X) put in 300 it will center it for you. keep the videos coming
Thank you for making these videos, a great help. I'm a newbee to cnc but would like to make a poster board with the letters filled in. Using a sharpie tie wrapped to the z axis. How do you do that with carbide create?
Great video tutorial. I really want to get a Shapeoko but the single greatest downfall for carbide create (for me after having been messing with it for a few weeks) is that you cannot scale shapes the way you can in easel (after having created them). It is beyond annoying having to keep on changing the scale by typing in a size in order to figure out the exact size I want. Just let me drag it around and scale it and I can type it if I want. This is especially painful when you are wanting to only move it just a little bit. Moving it around takes 2-3 seconds. Typing in the 15 different sizes I could make in that 3 second period now takes minutes. Not efficient at all. Take the arrow for instance...being able the freely drag and scale it lets me see it as I move the mouse for only a second or two and see several options, but rather you just have to guess, type, decide if you like it...guess another scale, type, then decide and so on. Lots of wasted time when designing. If there is a way to do that and I’m missing something please let me know. If not, if carbide 3D could add that feature that would be amazing! May still get the Shapeoko but use easel to make the projects and then just export the gcode to carbide motion. Again, very informative video and was helpful in learning carbide create.
I've been following your videos a bit now. This series helped out quite a bit. I have a question regarding importing files, that people have "shared." When you open the file or import it into Carbide Create, can you reduce (or enlarge) the project size to match the size of the material you will use? Example - a typical "flag" project, with an emblem/seal inside the striped area of the flag, is imported into Carbide Create. I don't want to make a full size flag, let's say I want to make it on a piece of wood about 7" x 15" (just random sizes I picked) - is there an "easy" (read: beginner) way to do that?
I am watching your videos expecting to buy a CNC soon but trying to learn Carbide Create first. I did download the Carbide Create program, the latest version 446 I think. Question 1-it looks nothing like the one you are using. Any ideas why? Also can't figure out the curve thing..Watched that part several times but can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks and keep up the great videos.
Hi Ben, just like to say what a good channel, i am struggling as a newbie to CNC, i am trying to trim a vector image in create to fit the design but no idea how ...any tips
With the glitch you pointed out regarding the “T” in Cowart being cut short in the preview...has it ever happened where the preview showed the glitch and software did not actually cut the letter correctly as well or has it only ever affected the preview views?
because most of the cnc world uses MM. And its what i'm used to and prefer. If you plan to advance your skills, its better to start off in a language that most will use later one. That's my thoughts.

glad i can help!
Have the XXL being delivered today. your tuts are the best. thanks for taking the time to do this!!!
Thanks for the kind words! Your in for fun and frustration! Looking forward to seeing what you create!

Awesome! I’m glad they helped!
Great video as usual Ben. Thanks for helping so many newbies like me.
Glad it helps Terrell
Excellent training. Great flow of application very logical in use.
Glad you enjoyed it

I think that move thing is meant to move the center point of your design to a set of coordinates you input.
Carbide Create should have measurement input options for the alignment tabs. Sort of like an offset setting for the alignment option.
Thanks ! Great stuff.. 1 Question ..after making name box is there a way to arc the name ?
Thanks for making these videos. Very helpful
Glad they helped!

Yep. One of my biggest gripes. Email carbide 3D and tell them that. If enough of us complain maybe they will add the feature.
great video again.

easy, just select all the vectors, then click scale, and drag a corner (this keeps everything proportional) and make it larger or smaller. and done!
@@MyersWoodshop Thanks, Ben!

They’ve done some major updates since
Thanks, Ben. Have you done a video on how to stack text?
i'll add that to the queue :P
great info!
thanks jarad!

Like size it smaller?
Im new aswell ;-;

I haven't had that happen. There is g code checkers out there that you can double check to see if its going to come out right.
Great video HOWEVER the sound was so low you couldn't hear it properly
So what program would you recommend to send the g code to the cnc. I am leaning towards the millright carveking
carbide create if you have a shapeless.
Is there a place for a list of a quick key stokes for carbide create. ?
i'll post it up on my site in the next few days www.myerswoodshop.com/blog
Tutorial content is excellent , but the volume needs some help!!
They updated my video editing software to a new version and it had some audio bugs!
Is there a way to change tool path directions? ps I am not all the way threw the video yet.
nope.
good video but the audio is very low and the intro comparatively is very loud.
yeah, I use filmora and they updated it and it has some bugs. sorry bout that.
Just wondering why you are using MMS When mos of your followers use inches

Set to inches it would help for what your doing. Truss me
personal preference I guess.
I watch a lot of you tube video about cc and vectric and non of them use mms
