Into the Cosmos (2014) - Ian Grom & John Mapes
"Interweaving music inspired by Holst's Planets, Radiohead, Tron and a variety of other interstellar type music creates a fantastic palette of colors and sounds specifically designed to be performed for a younger ensemble. Smart/simple voicing's, range considerations, and technical demand factor heavily in the scoring process to ensure the smaller ensemble will sound full and create the wonderful character required of this type of music. Conceptually, the show is meant to take you on a journey through space and remind the audience of the wonders of space and how small we really are in this universe. The show seeks to reignite our fascination with the unknown and explore the wonderful sounds that we have come to recognize as the soundtrack to the cosmos."
