EPISODE DESCRIPTION:
Do you have questions about setting up the dramatic play center in your preschool classroom?
Are you looking for ways to make your dramatic play center more engaging and deepen the play and learning?
Or maybe you just LOVE peeking into other teacher’s classrooms.
If any of these describe you, then you’re in the right place.
This episode of elevating early childhood is part of a series I’m doing called Learning Center Tours where I draw back the curtains on each center, so stick around until the very end so you won’t miss a thing!

When I was a preschool teacher we used to do the first six weeks or beginning of the year study. We also did something Calle guided discovery when we taught children how to play appropriately with the toys and where to put them when they were done
Hi Vanessa! I noticed the amount of dramatic play furniture you have in this video is minimal. I love that! While you have a stove/oven/sink combo (with microwave!), I have a separate stove/oven, a separate sink, a refrigerator, and a very tall piece of furniture to hang dress up clothes and it holds bins on the side for puppets/dolls, dollhouse furniture, kid's hats, etc. This all has to fit in one area of my classroom with a small table and chairs along with at least 15-20 other pieces of furniture in a very small, narrow room. I'd love to get rid of some of the furniture to save space!

Hi Vanessa 😃👋
I’m literally sitting in front of my computer watching your pacing guide video(which is the best thing ever for me) when I saw this video posted.
Thanks so much these videos here on UA-cam.
Your channel is one I can actually learn something and adjust to my own instructional strategies.
Ps… my prepared environment is for 2-3yr olds.
That's awesome!
This year instead of dolls I have put Bocchetta dogs and cats with dog beds and bowls. They are really engaging with it.
I loke your atitude!
Hi, you may have talked about this before but im new to your podcast and jjst tuning in here. Just wondering how many children in your room?
Great tips! Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Prek. Thank you soooooo much for this video. Last week, I told my room leader that we have to do something about the dramatic play corner, and we have too many things. Looking at your video, I see that we are very unorganised, and this corner looks so messy. I will follow your example as your dramatic play corner looks neat and tidy. Thank you again
You got this!
Hi Vanessa! This is SO helpful. I also love that kitchen playset. I'd like to budget for it for the future. Could you provide a link?
I can't find the exact model any longer on Constructive Playthings, but here is something similar at ChildCraft: www.schoolspecialty.com/childcraft-see-thru-kitchen-center-1491193 They also carry a nice one at Lakeshore.
Hi, I was just wondering if you had a link or knew the name of the bins you used for the food? Thanks!
They're from IKEA, not sure if they still carry them or not.
How often do you clean/ sanitize the toys ? Just curious.
Great video! This is exactly what I need!
Can you please share a link to the bins at Ikea?
I looked on their website and could no longer find the exact same bins. However, any plastic shoe box from the dollar store works too. :)
