so barcode’s character is actually just a fan of a novel featuring damon and finn! in the pilot the author dies (in the news scene) and it seems the characters have come to life into barcode’s world. i love it since it’s giving me hannibal vibes!

bc he isn't the original writer he is a fan of the novel finn and damon the original writer is killed? and it's what was mentioned in the news scene bc probably started modifying the script after he recieved it by someone knocking on his door seems like damon from the novel came to life as shown in the last scene where bc and jeff meet. this is an original script not adopted from a novel. we don't know the airing date they won't start shooting till late this year early next year and air arround mid year as jeff said he wants to use more time to refine the details on the script and focus on pre-production

Barcode is a writer too but he is not famous. So he is an anti fan of the novel "Finn and Demon" writer. Coz that writer is famous. But Barcode also got dreams of Damon whenever he read that novel. He wanted to hate Demon but the writer wrote it in such a way that it's neither the proper villain nor the proper hero. Now the writer somehow gets kills while leaving the unfinished novel. Now the finished version of the novel that was not posted yet comes to Barcode's door. And Barcode tries to change things there, which leads him to face the negative sides of Demon as the portal between fiction and reality is very thin. So somehow the reality starts to get mended with the fiction and it'll describe how the actual author got killed too.
[That much I deciphered from trailer for rest we have to watch the series, also Jeff said he wants to keep the story secret means it's going to be huge]

Barcode is playing unsuccessful writer and becomes anti fan of “Finn and Damon” author. “Finn and Damon” author was died the night of novel’s script got dropped off at his door. He was panicked and frightened so, he’s trying to get rid off the script. Everything else will leads to why characters are real, why the author is murdered?
