What a great band
Maybe it's just me? Maybe not? But Is anyone else simply floored by and in awe of the fact that this collaboration and the resulting material exists at all?? Like, here's this thing that I absolutely love...and that thing came to exist because two other things that I adore collided into the other's respective universe unexpectedly by accident or sheer dumb luck and set forth a chain of reactions. Startled by some unprecedented variable, the Universe accidentally dropped it's deck of cards right in the middle of an active hand that had begun to be dealt and now the whole process has to regroup and begin again. A completely different trajectory has now been set in motion that in no way resembles the original.
Im just pointing out that none of the music that we are enjoying right here, right now should have ever come to fruition. It should not exist. Ya'll realize this right?!
The only reason the music that we are hearing right now came to be at all is basically because two dudes kissed on stage (maybe there was some junk involved but whatever, yall get my drift lol) in a volatile, conservative country. Risking possible arrest and/or detainment, the group fled the country, resulting in the cancellation of the remainder of their tour.
The friendly space they sought to gather themselves and rest didn't belong to a stranger, but a friend...Still, they weren't supposed to be here. They were supposed to be on a stage somewhere else.
The bigger picture, when ya step back from something that has happened, just blows my damn mind...Especially when considering the spread of consequence. Something so trivial, the kiss between two band mates on stage, has now affected SO MANY PEOPLE. Some got their future show canceled with no real chance of a make up date, ever...The rest of us got this album and we weren't supposed to get anything at all. Another possibility could have very well resulted in TBL being detained and never ever seen again lol...Maybe even subject to the outcome of possible negotiations for their release.
Blows my mind, for real.
What country did TBL even have to escape anyways? The story is pretty interesting to me lol
