Magic Product Review - Cube In Bottle by Henry Harrius

- Today I review Henry Harrius's latest release of Cube In Bottle. The title of it says exactly what the effect is. In this effect a Rubik's Cube ends up in an impossible location, a glass jar. It is permanently in the jar and can not be removed unless you break the glass. The impossible object can then be given as a gift to the spectator as a reminder of the amazing effect. There is a lot of hype around this product. Watch the review and see what my opinion is on this release.

I pre-ordered. Hopefully, it comes this week. Now sure how exactly I'll use it, but I felt compelled to buy it at pre-order price. Especially because I like all of his products I've previously bought. I think, as with most "tricks" the key is making sure you have the wording of your routine done well. The best magic is emotional and involves making the magical moment a metaphor for something in real life.
Thomas you are a man after my own heart. I totally agree around the importance of scripting with making the magical moment emotional and a metaphor for something in their life. It packs so much more of a punch that way. I think cube magic may initially look visually cool but it can be heightened with the right scripting and how that is applied for a broader meaning. I think if you have purchased other Henry Harrius products you will not be disappointed. The quality is good and the effect is great. I too purchased on pre-order and am glad I did. I ordered one (taking forever!!). You bring up a solid point. Combine this with other cube magic as a closer. I'm curious what other effects people are using to combine with this? I do have Cube to Chocolate. That could work for sure as opposed to just performing CIB alone. I was actually thinking of doing the Jay Sankey effect, Fan Mail. Where you and a spectator sign their each pieces of paper (Tyvek) and they switch places.You can joke at how your signature is worth a ton and offer to sign the cube, etc. Just throwing ideas out there.... Anyways. Excellent, honest review. I love watching you my friend! And the tunes are fun too!!! :)
Hey AD Great to see you here. Oh I had the exact same issue with delivery. It seemed to take much longer than most releases. I like and had not thought about Fan Mail as an effect to combine with this but it is such a great effect and definitely could be integrated. I personally like Venom Cube by Henry Harrius as it just seems so impossible. Of course it is a bit expensive but a strong piece of magic.

Hey Jonny one question in the signature version can you still give that cube away or will you be giving away a gimmick every time? because I agree with Jorge that would be the strongest version Thanks and nice review :).
Great question. You will be able to give away that version with the actual signed cube in the glass jar, and you are not giving away the gimmick. You will be able to perform the effect again but you will have to purchase one of the cube in bottles which range in price depending on how many of them you purchase. The initial purchase is where the highest cost is and the refills I think are pretty affordable. Hope that helps.

You can do that, but there are angle issues. You do not want anyone behind you and best to have people to the front of you. They don't have to be directly in front of you but a slight distance and in front of you is ideal. I hope that helps.

I feel this effect is too bulky with the bag. It immediately reminds me of a vanishing bottle trick and raises questions to those skeptics who may question the bag. I find "Magic gift from Magician" seems cleaner to start and end with. But to each their own! I use a bag already in my show with Astonishing bottle, so doing another effect with a bag feels repetitive in performance.
R. Trainer, you raise a really good issue. I really like the way that Magic gift from magician looks. I think ultimately it comes down to one's prefrence between the two. Magicians gift is a little more affordable for essentially the same effect. However I think I prefer the method of Cube in Bottle by HR a little more and find relatively easy to perform. Both of these effects for me are ones that I have to really have the right gig to perform it at. It is too big to carry around for walk around and really is more of a in place set.
