Hi, I’m new and just found you and your beautiful animals. I just saw your last two goats have their babies. Poor River did have a hard time but so happy you were there to help her. Her baby is BEAUTIFUL too! I’m looking forward to seeing more videos to come. Thank you
hi I think a great name for your buck would be Danube. After the 2nd longest river in Europe. Or you could call him Rio which is Spanish for River. As your title said he was huge. Always a buckling being hard on the mama.
What a beautiful BIG baby boy. Poor Ruver had her work cut out for her. Thankfully you were there to help. Could you maybe do a recap video of all the babies born the year and their momma's? Are you keeping any of the babies? It would be so hard to choose.
Definitely! I have been meaning to, but kidding season has just kept going and going this year. 😅 We are keeping just a few, and we made some major cuts with our mamas too, so a recap video is definitely in order!
Maybe you could name him after a really big river?😅❤ Your channel has been a blessing to me. You remind me that there are so many ways to have a homestead and still put my kiddos first. I'm hopeful that soon we will be able to start our own adventure.❤❤
I am surprised that you don’t put molasses in a bucket of water for the newly delivered moms. It helps with stress over hard deliveries and it also helps to restore blood glucose levels that often drop during the stress of delivery. Just a country girl’s suggestion. Beautiful babies by the way.
I show it in some videos, but not all. Our ladies LOVE their molasses water! They typically try to knock it out of my hand as I pour it in, which is why is rarely makes the cut for videos. It's me holding back a crazy new mama as I try to pour her water in her bucket. 🤣
I saw your post and thought "HOLY SMOKES! You have a very big herd!" LOL. Of course your kidding season has to end with a bang. Congratulations, friend. River is beautiful. That baby is HUGE for River's size! What a pretty little boy.
I agree! My daughter...not so much. She thinks that clearly the baby from River should be named Lake. 🤣 She'll probably win that one though. Lake is a pretty cute name.
I really enjoy your channel and I very much appreciate your approach to labor with your goats. Do you have a video, or would you consider making one, about your herd and how you got to this point with them? I’m curious about how you have such varied coat patterns in your herd. They are beautiful. Do you have many bucks to give you such variety? What are your goals with your herd and how long have you been raising goats? How many do milk? That might be asking a lot 😅 Anyway I love your channel 💛
I just found your channel River’s baby boy being born and the 2 baby goats 🐐 born a day or two before. I’m live in McPherson,KS. In the last couple of years I have been watching Willow and Reeps. I think it’s called. The first Goat 🐐 video I started watching watching was Blue Cactus Dairy Farm out of Arizona! When they lived on there first ranch and now I have sure been enjoying there new videos and there traveling with Derek delivering the baby goats 🐐 and the one Buck they sold and there was 2or3 mom goats 🐐 that they were down sizing. I can’t wait till every thing gets done for them to be able to move to the OZarks Mountains 🏔️ there going to love 💕 it there I do understand it’s still going to be awhile before they can move I’m just Excited for them.
I have 2 goats (mama and daughter) that have trouble delivering their babies. The one has had a buckling twice in a row so both times we've had to really pull to get it out. HUGE babies. Poor mama had to have meds. I'm seriously thinking of switching bucks for both does even though both parties are of similar size. These particular girls always have singles. besides genetics do you think food also plays a part in the size of these babies?
Oh man! Sorry to hear you have had problems in the past. I think diet can definitely play a role in the size of babies. We typically don't offer ANY grain to pregnant mamas because I've always worried about birth size. Clearly sometimes that helps, and sometimes it doesn't.
It's so funny to see her next to all our other goats because she is by far the smallest. It's crazy to see how different the various breeds of goat can be!
River's baby is so handsome! She really struggled to push him out and I'm so glad you were there to help her! Glad Mama and baby are doing well!
Thank you!!!

Thanks so much!!!
Bless her little cotton socks ❤
My human son took close to 3 days to deliver.
I’ve subscribed today. I need some simple earthy input. You’re it.
🤞🏼
Oh GOODNESS! 😳 I can't imagine labor for that long! You are a rockstar to go through that. Thanks for subscribing!!

Those are such excellent names!! Thank you!
I love goats and especially nubians! I don't have goats anymore nor do I live in a farm. I miss all the spring births!
We love our nubians! And I always look forward to the births, right up to the middle of kidding season. Then I'm ready to wait until next year! 🤣
Beautiful and BIG boy❗️🩵
He sure is!!
Poor mama! I felt every contraction-I’m exhausted!🥵
Me too! She did so amazing, but WHEW! what a workout.

He’s almost the same size as she is 😂
It’s a wonder there was any room for her tummy lol
Seriously! How did he fit at all?!
He must be an origami goat 😂

Mississippi 😂
That's a great idea!!
Great idea! Mississippi or Colorado . Or Hoover, because he tried to dam up the river😂
Haha Hoover 😂😂
Rio Grande
Adorable baby. He'll be ready to ween in a day or two, lol..Awesome looking babies again this season. ❤❤
Hahaha, seriously! He's gonna be bigger than his mama in no time.
That's a really pretty buckling! Congratulations River! 🎉
He is super cute! 😍
Considering the number of lasses born this year seems only fair that the last one of the year is a handsome lad 😍
Haha, so true! I just wish he hadn't been such a chunk! 🤣
@@NewDayFamilyFarm Who was River bred to?
Oh my lord he’s huge 😊subscribing

I think the same thing every day! How did we get so many?? It's like chicken math with our goats over here! 🤣
@@NewDayFamilyFarm It dorsnt help that they are so cute!!
@@maplewoodhomestead2017 SO TRUE! 🤣
Hey Bekah… he is beautiful!!! He needs a big name! Great job, River! My sympathies for such a hard labor.

@@NewDayFamilyFarm I have a nephew named Lake
Congratulations River !!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
She's a champion mama!!

I LOVE both those channels! They are both amazing goat families. Thanks for watching!
❤
Thanks for watching!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!! ❤️️
That was awful. I had such agonizing births I empathized totally, and couldn’t watch😢 I had 10 lb and 10 I/2 Lb to deal with. Dear Dear River❤
Those big babies really do make labor so difficult!

Poor baby. 😢
I know! 😭 She did amazing though!
I would call him Titan or Hercules
Those are both excellent!
👍❤️🇮🇳
Thanks for watching!
Did you get River from another UA-cam goat family?
Weed Em and Reap has a goat named River too! Our River is actually named for a Doctor Who character though. 😁
You could name him Clint Walker after the actor.
That's a great idea!!
@@NewDayFamilyFarm Clint was huge and gorgeous!
Instead of a Doggery you have a Goatery big time...want do U do with all the goats...❤❤❤
We LOVE drinking goat milk around here, and our mamas supply us with fresh goat milk each morning. We love them so much!! ❤️️
She's not big hard to see her pregnant
