Always interesting to see the kit of others. The 300 PF +1.4 TC stays on my camera for walkabouts - wonderful versatile lens for the nature photographer. Will certainly try this combo with an extension tube this year! Looking forward to seeing the particulars of your diffuser😉

Thank you ! Yes the 300 PF is a fab lens ! Probably one my best lens purchases ever ! So versatile. Do try the extension ring, not many people use that trick but it does wonders with long lenses, for proxyphoto. At very little cost too ! But do not buy any of the super cheap Chinese ones. Stick to brand names or Kenko

The morning was lovely. Happiness itself, it seemed, hung above the ground and, reflected in the diamond dewdrops, beckoned the soul of a passerby to itself ... The forest, shrouded in morning light, was quiet and motionless, as if listening to my steps and the chirping of the bird brethren, who greeted me with expressions of distrust and fear ... The air was saturated with the vapors of spring greenery and caressed my healthy lungs with its tenderness. I breathed it and, looking around the expanse with enthusiastic eyes, I felt spring, youth, and it seemed to me that young birch trees, roadside grass and cockchafers buzzing incessantly shared this feeling of mine. “And why is there, in the world,” I thought, “a man crowding in his cramped shacks, in his narrow and cramped little ideas, if there is such scope for life and thought here? Why doesn't he come here?"

Thankyou for sharing your video very informative, I noticed you briefly showed a set up for photographing a flower which was sitting on a round photo background was this hand made or bought, it looked ideal for using with stationery early morning butterfly photography 😀

Hi Jim ! Thank you. everything is DIY like many of my solutions for macro. The support is made with a pair of clamps and the round photo background is simply an out-of-focus photo of flowers or vegetation printed on an office printer. I mention those in my other video on background isolation. The use of hardware store clamps is also decribed in my video on orchid photography

Thanks I have just found them, I’m going to try it out, and also get a pack of multi colour micro fibre clothes, spray them with random patches and use as a background I will let you know if they work.

I saw in some previous videos that you use Meike MK320 flash but you change it and go with Godox TT350 on Z6. I am thinking to buy new flash and my choice wold be one of this two. Which flash is better in your opinion as expirenced user for macro photography? Keep going on... 🤙

I really miss my 150mm macro from my canon cameras, its such an amazing piece of kit. The new Sony E mount sadly don't have any.

Yes 150mm as a focal length for macro can have its advantages, quite versatile. Why not use an adapter for mounting Canon or other lenses on a Sony mount ? I am not familiar with Sony, being a Nikon user

Hello, what iso are you using with the 300mm, extension ring, and x1.7, pretty high I guess?

Most often when I go out on a hike I carry a small backpack and I have two Cameras, the Sony A7RIV and the Sony A7RIVA, it is a joy to have two Camera that works identical ! Most often the Lenses are Sony 14mm 1.8 GM, Sony 24mm 1.4 GM, Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical, Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 65mm 2.0 and Sony 135mm 1.8 GM, with this set of Lenses I can cover many (most) kind of different types of Photography, I have two spare batteries and several spare memory cards. If I go shorter hikes and the car are close by I have two backpacks, or one backpack and a shoulder bag, then I can also have Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8, Tamron SP 300 mm 5.6 Adaptall-2 and the Sony 200-600mm 5.6-6.3 G Lenses, I sometimes bring my Novoflex carbon fibre Tripod system. I NEVER use flash for nature photography !
