ive played 33 years it takes its toll on youre fingers and youre back and youre mind as well I cant say enough about mr scary still shredding it his unorthodox playing his prowess geez what a beast who cares if hes sloppy its not a concert or some shit like that hes noodleing with his own creations I love it much respect
Lynch's playing has gotten to a point of abstract space bound with hints of the past. Its awesome. Space blues moving forward. A la Hendrix. I luv it! Kamikaze guitar forever!
A la Hendrix Lmfao !!! He not even a spec on a picture of JIMI Hendrix ...period and don't come back with some stupid bull shit ....
@@roadwarrior4080 quit spouting stupid shit. One of the things I learned to admire about George was that he always pushed his own spectrum, like Jimi. He was comfortable making mistakes if furthered where he wanted to go. That is amazing.
@@mwbrada when you try to put George's name next to the man the started it all and was a complete package entertainer supreme, wrote all of his own music and lyrics came up with so many studio ideas that paved away for others "that's spouting Stupid Shit" and tells me that you know squat about where it's at when it comes to music, George was a damn side man for a band that Did have a little success but when that died which didn't take long, he was nowhereville Lynch because why ? Because he was never that level of talent, yes he could shredd but that really means nothing in the scheme of real music and besides so many others are better at it from his era and I know because I was in the middle of it....
George Lynch has an amazing style that nobody can copy . he's still a monster and back in the day you didn't want to even try to play his stuff. the man is a legend
This guy is truly one of the best guitarist in history , tone style technique is unmatched
In this clinic he demonstrates a whole bunch of weird ideas he has. Avant garde!
I agree , and George always puts those awesome Lynch- licks on all his work. Unique player 🎸
George can still rip it, decades later! WOW!!!
You haters have completely missed the point, from a musicians perspective... he is playing based on the moment... very organic. If you want to hear him play it exactly go listen to the record. Like his hero, Jeff Beck, he has evolved into a producer of SOUND. He’s already proven that he can be a gunslinger. He’s keeping himself interested and inspired. If 10% of the audience gets it, well that’s not his problem. Real musicians understand this, I’ll have to assume that many of the comments here are by people who probably can play the 80s version better than him - but have yet to have had their first original idea in their lifetime thus far.
I happen to love what he’s playing here. Sounds like a soulful human being, not programmed. So good for me 😊
Yeah love how in recent years he’s slowed his playing down and become more Beck/Hendrix orientated. That’s not to say he can’t shred any more, it’s obvious he just prefers going back to the root of his playing style. He’s not the only 80s shredder who’s done this, Warren Demartini on his last tour with RATT obviously played much different compare to his earlier days, much more soulful, even Paul Gilbert’s denounced shredding and prefers to play melodic bluesy stuff.
The mans an animal!! Very melodic and still one of the best!
Humanity dissapoints me when some people dont get what George is trying to do. No any other guitar player is at George's level. He is the one and only
I wholeheartedly love this George!!! Love love your passion!!! You rock!!! 🎸🎵
Genuine dude...and Monster player...Liked him since 1985...
This guy is a genius....his recent work with the band KXM just too good 🔥🔥... being able to witness him is a privilege 💫
Geez ...you trolls are brutal. The guy is in his mid 60s. It’s not like he sits around polishing his 80s techniques.
He’s done lots of great records. Go listen to them.
Many guitarists in their 60s are just as good or even better than before though. So it's fair to comment on how bad this sounded. Even some simple things was bad sadly.
@@SLO7HProductions "Many guitarists in their 60s are just as good or even better than before though." That statement is pure conjecture and wholly debatable.
Much also depends on how quickly this shindig was thrown together and what amount time he for advanced notice to even practice these old songs.
I'm sure that a lot of copycats could've played e.g Mr. Scary closer to the original recording, but very few (if any?) could've composed an instrumental of that calibre themself. George Lynch was heavily improvising much of the stuff here so obviously there's a lot of room for mistakes when one doesn't play it safe. And I respect him a lot for that by the way. A lot of guitarists sound boring when they get older, but not George. He still has the zeal.
Truly THE MOST VIABLE GUITARIST FROM THE 80S ERA MONSTER HANDS DOWN
George Lynch is awesome...He keeps going for it,digging in and stretching out...Respect!
George has taken care of himself and we are all benefactors...❣️🔥🤘
The master ... sharing his art with all - brilliance: thought. creativity, technique. Mind blowing at how great George is and how much he's accomplished
He is Mr. Scary....................His passion and fire breathing, explosion soloing, is in a class all its own. If you never saw him live in the 80's or the INCREDIBLE tour of 1995 you trolls have no clue....................
Randy Rhoads once said that George Lynch is a incredible Guitarist, and keeps being awesome!!!
The tapping solo that Randy Rhoads does in Flying Again, George Lynch said that he made that up and Randy Rhoads ended up using it.
Honestly this is impressive.
George is a great guitarist,and unique,he is a master
Loved it live and just listened to it again and still love it. He is one of the nicest guys I have ever met and took as much time as anyone needed during the meet and greet.
Wow....I've always loved Lynch guitar, but he's so genuine and honest in his dialogue with the audience. Makes me love his work that much more. Thanks for posting!
Very cool that he can get so abstract within the old songs. Lynch's style and tone has really kept evolving, and still extremely recognizable
Idiomatic, creativity, style, technique….. King!!
Absolutely fantastic. Love the realness of this. He is saying he was not in the groove but I thought this is the best I've heard him play. My new favorite guitar video. Thanks for posting this!
Awesome George. I've always said, if I had one guitarist to listen to the rest of my life, it would be George Lynch.
Thank you George for all the music!!!!!
I see people ripping George in the comments. Before you make a judgement send us a video of you jamming when you are 63,or just look at all the garbage we hear on the radio now.All the new bands are lucky to even play a simple 3 chords. This man shreds beyond belief.
One of my favorite 80's guitar players, much love to George💪💜
Living Legend....!!! thanks for the upload.
Solid man. Solid character. Solid list of just musical achievements embracing a very wide set of genres, any one of which would not fit in the back pocket of most of the guitar player world right now.
Best tool for any guitar player beginner or lifer whether musician or weekend warrior. Humility.
Any underappreciated comments - maybe you just really need to get a cookie and sit down.
Thanks and kudos to George for continually putting himself out there for decades.
His playing always had attitude... love it!
Look at him playing with his fingers like that now! He's trying to go beyond where he was even if it means being outside his comfort zone. He'll be like Jeff Beck with that great fleshtone you get from fingerstyle.
I will always love Lynch!
George is a super brave improviser and when he hits an off lick or a bad note, he doesn't even acknowledge it. He immediately takes another chance.
And yes, his playing is a little rough around the edges but that's because he's constantly trying new ideas and pushing his own limits. The trade off is well worth it though. Besides, a bad note for us, is a cool, exotic note for Lynch.
He is so creative. You see that kind of approach in some jazz musicians only. I put him second in my list because of Jeff Beck.
Great stories!😂😂. I could listen to him talk all day. Great post
george is great love this
Lynch is a MONSTER on guitar as much as anybody great ever was...
This is awesome
Since I first heard of George in the early 80s, I’ve been s fan. I good portion of modern playing is because of him. I appreciate that he has consistently stayed in physical shape, even in his 60s. I’m 60, and I play obsessively, and I work out obsessively. Not bad traits, although I will never be as skilled as he, but I can say with pride, I’m in better shape than most 20 year olds. Luckily, I’ve watched my health, as the Coronavirus almost did me in. Do yourself a favor, just something physical every day, and you will thank yourself when you turn 60.
Still has it’s moments, and i know how it feels to drive 3 hours to a gig and not feeling the groove, or feeling off. A great lesson I learned from that is no matter how bad u think u did, someone will still appreciate it. Afterwards, feeling depressed, frustrated, etc., a girl came up to me and said it was a little rough but was interesting.
One of the best is all times , and very underestimated. .
George is hilarious. I could listen to him talk for 3 hours!
Back in the 80's it was about utilizing and exploring new fx, gizamatrons, new amp and the dawn of digital recording. This is George doing his thing raw, dry, and naked without all the 80's reverbs deleys and harmonizers. I like the new George without all the fluff... and far less hairspray.
I've read all the comments below but George has had such a positive influence on my life that I won't say a bad word about him. By the way, listen to the stories he has to tell later from the road that make this well worth the money for the audience! People with younger nimbler fingers don't have that good shit!
Great !!! Thanks !!!
Lots of negativity here, sure he ain't playing like 1985 George but I still love what he does, his heart is in it.
When you get in the late fifties and sixties things aren't as important as you think
It was his style that led the way, and not his playing proficiency. Lots of guys like Lynch were covered for a bit by recordings and we gave them a pass live. UA-cam has made that harder to do.
A lot of commenters above saying something like "you can't do it when you're 60".
Steve Vai seems to have slowed down a little bit and gone more into the studio stuff, but he still for sure nails it live.
When someone has great style and they're not perfect live, it's no big deal. There's no need to cover for them. There are a million better players than Jimi Hendrix who nobody will remember anything about. I choose hendrix.
George was my idol back in the day, but he’s even better now. More feel, ball out player.
Mr.lynch is the bollocks! I couldn't stand dokken, but he is pure fucking class! He just oozes the 80's style of playing! Splendid!!!!
God, I miss the 80s!!!!!! The music and women were so fucking bad-ass!
Last I heard, George was agnostic. Nothing wrong with that, each to his own.
He's not as polished at times in his later years. Age and attitude gets us all at some point.
I thank God for this man and his playing.
A true icon. Helped me as a young person/player through alot of hard times.
George always kills rock man...
George is George, love him or hate him but one thing's for sure that if he wasn't in Dokken at the time, the 80's would have missed something important to the music at the time. His work with Lynch Mob and his solo stuff is amazing. It's hard to recreate his feel, yes maybe he isn't very technical but he is the one who's feel is hard to reproduce. He is in his 60's now, doesn't have a care in the world and is a world known superstar of the guitar. I met him years ago and he spent a lot of free time talking to people and listening to others play and never had one bad word about anyone at the time. Mr. Scary!!!
I love George! I think it was Picasso who drew a circle on a napkin and wrote his name for a journalist who asked him for it...he then said that will be 1 million dollars. The journalist was in shock, but it only took you 5 seconds...yes but it took me 50 years to get here. Oh and BTW, for you who complain of his playing, he plays better than any of you on his shittiest day, sry, but he is world famous and one of the most respected guitarists ever, and you aren't sry...
Seems like a cool dude. Well spoken..
your breaking my heart george you use to be a master my favorite just one of those I guess your still in my eyes the best always a fan keep rocking george I'm with you man
Still one of the best guitarists of the genre and the era. Killer licks and nice and crunchy. I am a huge George Lynch fan, and Dokken was ok. I will admit it, if I could listen to Dokken and just cut the lead vocals out... I would prefer it. Don was an ok vocalist, but the band was killer.
Some of his best work was solo with Lynch Mob. Still listen to both Dokken and Lynch Mob all the time.
George notes always sings rock on
Beautiful Playing!!
thumbs up to the sound and/or lighting person
George is a monster. Such a cool, thoughtful dude.
Lynch the Legend!!!
Anybody know anything about the old Marshall Plexi he's playing? It has that George Lynch tone :)
He plays what he wants and enjoys himself, fuck the critics.
I hear you George! Your improv never ceases to amaze me. Even tho this is a little roughshod but I can dig it technical difficulties aside.
I liked it
"On the record there's like nineteen guitars." Haha!
I have always loved his style...even if it is a little dirty or choppy, One of my all time influences.
hell yeah thats just raw playing great thoe , but one of the all time greats
Master
This is exactly I have always said that music in the 90s sucks. The ONLY talent 90s music was the drummer and that’s pretty much it. I’ve lived through the 80s and that was when mu all talent was at its peak. The sound quality , the emotion, attitude, passion, desire, etc. these were the very essence of music and you had no choice but to feel that from every instrument from every band. The players can play damn well and the singers can sing damn well. I’ve been a musician all my life and it’s because the music of the 70s and 80s was sooooooo inspiring because of the music and the amazing talent that produced the music. I am a player of multiple instruments guitar being one of them and I’m a shred-head myself I’ve been a singer/vocalist for well over 30 years . Granted, everyone has their own taste in music and there’s nothing wrong with that at all and that’s part of what makes music such wonderful thing because it caters to the taste of the variety. But as for me personally, I like my music with real talent because that’s what inspired me to become the musician that I am and determined to learn any and every instrument I can get my hands on and to keep pushing my vocals
We all wish we could of had an ounce of his creativity.. how many of you can say you’re responsible for creating an era of music? Whilst still be unique and original?
..King George
God George is just amazing........ lol
I love all the shitbird trolls that obviously have no clue about playing guitar trying to bag on a 60yo shredder revamping something he did before you were born that you couldn't duplicate in any era. :D
Here is to your shitbird trolls comment I was around right in the middle of it all, the guy has totally lost his rhthym and timing and phrasing is out the window, about every 12bars he finds something resembling his former self...
@@roadwarrior4080 quit being such a drama queen ffs lol.... *totally lost his rhythm* I almost fell out of my chair on that one... Point to the area on the doll where George hurt you... XD
@@mwbrada he has lost his timing, phrasing and speed he is slobbering all over his instrument, if you can't do youre heroin and play don't do it ....
@@mwbrada well go on and fall all the way out of youre chair, maybe you hit you're head on something that will knock some since into ya....he can't even play the shit he wrote lmfao!!!!
Zakk has his own guitars now ,I think George hasn't been talking to him lately , lol.
Fucking AWESOME
Can someone tell me the name of the last song he played. I love it but can never figure out the name of song.
I enjoyed this. Grew up loving the way George played in Dokken. Lots of Nasty comments on here though. I understand that everyone has a right to their opinion... And can say whatever they want.... But just because it can be said doesn't mean it necessarily should be said.
I love this guy from day one in Dokken! Nuf said!
I thought George was wearing a dress for a minute there, a new Mr. Scary lololol 😂
However,as someone who has just discovered this guy (i would refuse to take 80's hair metal bands seriously) i actually like his "out there" choice of notes and nothing safe in his playing. What would you rather have, someone playing penatonic safe licks or the malmsteen sweeps.Interesting guy and guitarist,i must listen to some more, recommendations anyone?
I will always be a Lynch fan but I have to agree with some of the comments, lately his solo's are all over the place, and I wish he would limit the finger picking. Having said that he is still an amazing guitarist and his riff and solos are the reason I became a Dokken fan.
I think that is a biproduct of trying to add unique sound to this playing. But yeah, I wish he would use quality sounding amps and less finger picking. Not just pick amps cause they sound dirty or old.
To all the haters, he's playing Mr. Scary with one guitar while the original is layered with several. Relax and enjoy it.
Sounds like a computer game gone nuts cuz you got a lot of bonus
Song on 24 min?
Love George. George is a fantastic guitar player. Maybe take a shower er something. What an honest interview...
The best-sounding Dokken record IMO is Back for the Attack.
Come on George lynch
I've never been a Lynch fan when I was younger and I begin only now to discover and appreciate this guitarist but the problem is that I love it much more when it's Jay Parmar who plays Lynch licks. I know it's absurd but it is just a matter of tastes.
Jay is really, really good. I thoroughly enjoy his play...but George invented this style, the creator.
SHIT SON,,,,,WE ROLLING🎸🎸🎸🎸👍👍🍺🍺🇺🇸😁
Only in his mind the shit he plays nowadays sounds good, too many 80's drugs rumor has it ,he's still finding stash from those days
Strange backing track. Wicked Sensation(17'37") two measures lost on the introduction. And ?
G3orG3 Lynch
Killers shorts!
Nice of George to get dressed for the occasion
give me a break who gives a shit if the man shows up and a t-shirt and shorts.
I've seen him do several Lynch Mob shows in shorts and flipflops here in Phoenix. Only George!
I love seeing George telling the sound guy to turn it up in EVERY single video
