I was out of the house on vacation when this video came out but I... remembered... to come back to watch it.

Wizardry to the Power of Three uses memory to have your characters cooperatively move along a board. Very tough and interesting.

I feel like I could watch this on repeat. Your videos are so, so good! Thank you for all the hard work you put into these. Definitely want to try some of these out.
edit: btw your description needs updating

Thanks! I’m not sure this one will get too many views - memory games aren’t something all gamers love. So I’m glad it’s appreciated!
Do you mean the description for the UA-cam channel? I’ll take a look.

@@AdaminWales No, this video's description mentions racing games.

@@AdaminWales I always view memory games as a less serious way to hone and maintain your ability to remember things. Memory is something so many people take for granted.

Fantastic video. A brilliant run down of the variety of memory games out there. I didn't know many of them, and now I want to buy half of them!

Great video as usual. I had a hunch you were working on this topic when I spotted Memoarrr! and That's Not A Hat on your shelves in a previous vid. The latter is interesting because it features bluffing, and can have a similar feel to Cockroach Poker. I enjoy Memoarrr! too. Which of all these memory games did you particularly enjoy?

I like all of them really (not so keen on Panic Island). Deja Vu, Gigamon, Magic Rabbit, Bee Alert are all great, but really depends on age of the players.

Great video! Da komm der Wurm raus and Gold are favourites here. We find it such a shame that memory mechanics are so easily dismissed out of hand.

Have you played Trio / Nana? It's a twist on pairs. You have to find 3 matching cards, and you can ask to see other players' cards. Very interactive and enjoyable.

Just discovered this channel and am binging this is really useful stuff! Have you thought of making a video on political games like quo vadis?

It’s a good topic. I probably haven’t played enough of the big hitters to make a broad enough video though. I love Zoo Vadis!

Not really sure who's the audience for these memory games. I think most people don't like this mechanic.

It really depends on who you are playing with. HABA, Zoch & other family game companies make MANY games of this type - so they obviously sell very well. It’s not the BGG audience that’s buying them - it’s a much lighter, more casual audience that buys these games, but I think it’s pretty large.
I do agree that most strategy gamers seem to dislike memory mechanisms.
      I really enjoy them! :)

I think it's best to avoid the term 'most people' because it doesn't really mean much here. You don't have to make a game that 51%+ of people would like, you can be very successful with a game that *enough* people enjoy. Clearly there are enough people that enjoy memory games because this video just listed a lot of them!

Popularity on BGG can be pretty deceptive. I have a pretty nerdy playgroup and even for them games like Terraforming Mars and Cascadia were a bit dull. Most of the games they like are unpopular/unknown party games, but they're legitimately tons of fun. I'm increasingly suspicious of what's popular for all forms of media.
