  • The Bachelor of Science in Urban Technology at the University of Michigan is a first-of-its-kind degree in an emerging field focused on rethinking how cities are designed. Students learn to create apps, launch businesses, and design services and organizations that address critical urban challenges such as climate change, equitable housing, and mobility.
First-year students participate in a spring term Cities Intensive where they learn to analyze the different systems that make up an urban environment, including water, land use, transportation, and more. As part of the experience, students visit several cities to study different issues on the ground, see developments firsthand, and meet with local experts, practitioners, and change-makers.
