yoo I don't even dance but hearing you talk about the differences between timing and rhythms was really interesting, also love that you show off lesser known rounds, that judge demo by henry link was one of the sickest rounds I've never seen before.
This episodes are really insightful because when I watch dance I never focus on just one specific thing like rhythm or flow. I feel like this is really helpful to understand dance at a deaper level. Also i felt like i was back at school in music theory class at the begining of this video 😂
GG WAB. WADDUP DOC. This was a light grenade man, i mean i recomended an exercise to a friend that dances but kinda gets off beat, so i tried to help him, snap to the beat each 1 count, regardless of what he is dong after that and i noticed how he changed his whole dance, and today i started playing around with rhytms accenting each count separately and Just like you said IT CHANGED THE WHOLE GAME UP without even touching a thing inside my arsenal and the best thing is that it gave me a space to listen to the song while im dancing, fdsklfjdskljflsdjflksd making the beat killing even easier. This was too much to take in and imma work on it before even watching another one of these. THANKS DOC. Ill be spreading and preaching your teachings.
I remember not too long ago I was watching a old tutorial from JRock breaking down the different timings and hits. Same concept just different methods of explanation.
He’s right about the notes and their subdivisions… once you understand it, you can flow through time and freely create phrases that tell a story…. Freestyle in dance is a lot like musical improvisation… it’s all in the groove
@@metalspalace - absolutely. And I appreciate your videos… I’m a musician but I started by dancing as a 2 year old … I focused on making music but now I want to get back to moving… it’s all connected and I really like your videos
Wow this was amazing. I'm really trying to get my rhythm (timing) on point this has helped me alot. Its something we all should do correctly. Music gets lost in movement its not all about the tricks and blow ups, intelligent and passionate people about dancers will get this video new or experienced. Great video from start to end, now I got tabo stuff to work on and metal dropping bombs lol we all need to get to work... Will shakes help for the 16th notes because I can shake and do different speeds bit like bopping andre going fast and slow. 16th notes are bit hard for me
This shit is fire bro, I love this🔥 I'm learning a lot, whole time I'm watching everyone dance I'm tapping my fingers in different notes and being amazed lol
Thank you so much for this video it helps a lot, I'd really like to know more videos like this to understand rythm, and to understand better the music The part when you talk about the actual flow and rythm within or upon the beat is difficult for me to understand by the way 🤯
gold channel bro , i was a contemporary dancer all my life , just started expermenting with hiphop and i'm telling you ,your channel helps soo much and i founded info that legit, i didn't found anywhere else ! keep spreading knowledge bro and wish you too the best ! thank you
Have you read/heard about the Kybalion? These principles (Rhythm, flow, correspondence, mentalism, etc) are the underlying principles of the universe. Love the channel bro
I have a natural ability to automatically find the tempo in music and it helps wit me saying on beat and "beat killing" when I don't kno the music, but I've always had trouble with rhythms because I developed the right side of my body for dance way harder than I did my left which was a rookie mistake being self taught, now my left side is less flexible and sometimes less powerful when it comes to quick twitch which disrupts my rhythm sometimes but ur explanation Def helped bro, appreciate wat u doin for the culture bro💯💯

This is why you need more subs. So many dancers need to hear these gems you’re dropping
People should get into syncopation, it’s what separates basic rhythm from advanced and creates groove as far as music theory goes
Ggwab
yo thanks for putting me on Link ... that was fire
Link is OG man come on 😭
Yeah link is the truth

Yo Metal!! I was going through some old footage and I think we battled at Claim to Fame 8 in 2018.

You have no idea how much you're helping the community man. Your work is highly appreciated, count on that
This is the correct approach. It's okay to not know timing, now let's learn!!!!!
slim’s freestyle with steezy is good example
hey Doc show us how you dissect a round. Never seen a high level dancer analize other battles.

Has anyone got an example of someone dancing in 16 counts?

Honestly when you connect to music feel it, it ant even no need to count, when I hit beats I don’t count the next time they show up, just feel it 🎶
