@@clarkchambers9992he's quite a controversial character , not shy by any means I agree 100% alterior motive for saying the ridiculous. Perhaps it's so obviously an opening homage to the beatles he considered it an absurd question who knows....who cares either lol
In the late 90s a chunk of MSP fans weren't at all happy with this album. Not heavy enough I guess? But whatever, I think it's ended up being their joint best album, along with Everything Must Go. Bradfield's music artistry had really developed around this time and the songwriting felt more mature.
I think it's a very sterile album. Very depressing, a bit pop-like. You Stole The Sun repeats its lyrics so many times it is torturous. Tsunami seems like a chart pleaser. There's nothing here that's a banger. I say this as someone who loved this album, and still likes it, but after exploring the Manics back catalogue, Generation Terrorist and Everything Must Go smoke it.

A critic described this album as "music mapped from the Welsh landscape". This song in particular, always makes me homesick for Wales.
Easily one of the best songs I have ever heard. The whole album is killer.
Absolutely agree with everything you said and didn't say also
Killer? I always presumed they were pacifistic, - unless you're one of Thatchers boot-boys that is....
Some people deserve a kicking.

'Never say goodbye, drift away and die.' That hits home.
The very best of James Dean Bradfield's voice. Love this song. Brings me so many feelings and memories every time.
This always makes me miss you Donna Louise love you Donna now and forever ❤❤❤😊
was always my favourite track of the album. Didn't listen to the album for 5 years and boy this is a banger!
Brilliant song off a brilliant album 👍😊
2023 and still masterpiece 👌
2024 as well
This song is so underrated it's unreal. Also it so reminds me of the Beatles. My dad loved this he said "if the Beatles where still here. this is it"
Yeah I get/hear that too, opening sequence is almost a beatles homage awesome track awesome lyrics from an awesome band
James is on record saying he dislikes the Beatles
@@steffanhoffmannDid he? Then I instantly don't trust his taste in music/I believe he has another motive for saying this.

This is a classic song the manics are the best band around and still rock
James dean Bradfield is so underrated
No he's freakin not...he's very much rated
He is not popular... but I think everyone who knows him understand that he is pretty unique.
They're not underrated, the opposite if anything
IMO this band is one of the GREATEST 🙌 of all time

Got to be my favourite Manics song...should be way better known
Incredible voice Blown away killing melodies!
very good song. remember me of good times
What a song,what a voice.
You can’t be bothered to decide whether you live or die or just forget about your life...never say goodbye...drift away and die........
It’s so applicable to my being - thank you the Manics x
Easily their best song!
I love it ❤️
Yes I am.
Amazing band

Ha - I'm a non-standard Manics fan I suppose. I loved this and I loved Lifeblood, perhaps even more - at their melodic best.

I stole this album from some random person's house, along with lots of other things, during a house party c. 1999
The chorus screams ABBA. I just can't think which song was it...
The winner takes it all?
