So my friend Mats, who is a true collector, was at this party that i came to. He just looked at me and smiled when i got there. ”I have found this song that i know you are going to dig”,he said, we had a Psychgarage band together). He took me upstairs to the stereo and of course it was this gem..and we still love it (this was late 90:s)
Hello 🥁 mer "So Long Sad Sack" is garage rock thunder. I can only imagine how fun it must have been. Too bad this song didn't make its way to America in 1966. It's my opinion that it would have entered the charts, possibly cracking the top fourty. It had hit potential. 1966 was one hell of a year for garage bands, garage rock in the US. The Dayaks would have fit right in.
Just for the fun of it....they wrote the song in the tramway on their way to the studio in early '67. From Uccle, south of Brussels!
Belgian freakbeat garage masterpiece
says it all.
