Many thumbs up for this music, which is sublimely beautiful, but the arrogant hubris of the poster is appalling. What does your catholic bible say about the sin of pride? You, sir, are in desperate need of some lessons in humility, just as your savior taught.
On the contrary, what’s appalling is the supreme arrogance of those who believe they can fully appreciate this quintessentially Catholic work even though they’re not Catholic. How did you become so diabolically arrogant?
If we are to follow your reasoning (and the POV of Norvis Ordo Watch, et. al.) the turning point for the Catholic Church was Vatican II. Have any Popes since then been "real?" And could anyone raised in the so-called "Catholic Church" since then be a true Catholic? If so, then there probably aren't many truly Catholic people left to fully appreciate this music. Well, I suppose the rest of us will just have to get what we can from it.
The conductor who conducts the Gregorian introitus in this way shows how little he knows about Gregorian chant and how it should be guided. Otherwise he is very good indeed.
The author is being funny, not hateful! It's his sense of humor! Catholic art (music?) is superior to all non-Catholic art? That gives the game away. Bach, anyone? The (Protestant) Bach is inferior to No One! 😅
J.S. Bach ascended to the artistic heights in spite of his wretched Protestantism, not because of it. The glories and profundities of J.S. Bach are thoroughly derivative of and dependent upon Catholicism. None of it flows from the monstrous heresies of the monstrous philistine Luther. (Note: when I speak of Catholicism, I’m talking about the actual [“traditional”] Catholic religion, not that rabidly anti-Catholic religion spawned during Vatican II and practiced and spewed by Antipope Francis and his fellow wolves in shepherds’ clothing leading their demonic Novus Ordo Antichurch.)
Astonishing arrogance from you. Bach's musical taste and ability was infinitely superior to yours or anyone else's today. For you to place yourself on his level--or rather, drag him down to yours--is deeply perverse. Have you no shame?
I'm sure people who have faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and God and believe the scriptures ( the text of this work is Psalms and parts of the New Testament ) and understands music will appreciate this more than any Catholic who never reads Scripture and has little knowledge of music. Jesus told his disciples not to shut up people who speak well of him, Catholicism is one of many Christian traditions and Christianity is about a Person, Jesus Christ and not a denomination you should study scripture and become more enlightened, Jesus Christ doesn't deny anyone who really wants Him as their Messiah
It would be better to leave these controversies alone than Mozart's music, which hopefully has a longer and more honorable fate than Pope Francis, a pope wanted by the modal freemasons to whom Benedict XVI was too inconvenient. The same freemasons to which Mozart belonged, because Mozart was also a Freemason and like all composers had to make a living, writing music for the Catholic Church as well.
Francis isn’t an actual pope. Popes must be Catholic. But as a pertinacious and manifest heretic-indeed the most public heretic in the history of the world-Francis has abundantly proven that he’s not Catholic. Indeed he’s shown that he hates actual Catholicism with the white-hot hatred of a thousand burning suns. Hence, for example, he seeks to completely obliterate the actual (“traditional”) Roman Rite. Therefore, because Francis isn’t actually Catholic (recall that baptism is a necessary but insufficient criterion of actual Catholicism; one must also hold the actual Catholic faith), he can’t possibly be an actual pope. One cannot be the head of a body of which one is not a member. Recognizing this is a matter of logic, of seeing objective reality, not of legal authority. One need possess no legal authority whatsoever to simply recognize reality. One need not be a traffic judge to recognize a speeder. One need be a traffic judge only to convict the speeder. But the factual reality of speeding was pre-existent to the legal conviction. As for Francis, any future legal judgment will simply be an affirmation of the present reality, which is this: assuming he ever actually held the papacy at all, he’s long since ipso facto fallen from office because of his pertinacious and manifest heresy spitting in our faces daily. Much has been spoken of the dangers of not following a true pope. It’s time to speak of the dangers of following a false pope. We must, at last, pull our heads out of the sand. We must finally get real, really real, no matter how uncomfortable the demonic really real reality of Francis really is.
Here's a 'Jeremiah Alphonsus' who claims the current pope is not a real pope but who somehow believes Mozart represents 'actual Catholic belief'?!?!? Does Jeremiah Alphonsus have any clue of whom Mozart was?!?!? Nuff said
Mozart was a free mason ; but nearly all free masons in Austria at that time were catholics. Johan Sebastian Bach was a protestant and he composed the most beautiful mass ever. Had a very interesting concversation about composers and religion in Leipzig with a protestant minister...
It's really amazing how many Protestants love to sing Masses in choral societies. Do they realize they are singing what they have rejected, or what their forbears have rejected? Apparently not.
Perhaps that's not the point to them personally. I'm an evangelical, for example, and I enjoy listening to mass music, though I don't agree with it doctrinally. Don't Catholics sing "Amazing Grace," which magnifies grace rather than works as the way of salvation?

Most likely it’s how he dresses. Looking slovenly is fashionable in this shamelessly degenerate, rotting age.

I have two comments about the quality of the video upload, and neither concerns the music-making, which is excellent. [1] The lip sync is off by 200ms. [2] The reverberation of the final chord is brutally chopped off. Is there any chance the the video can be re-uploaded to include the reverberation of the last chord?
No.
Who performed Mozart's divine music so divinely? I was looking for the conductor, the soloists, the choir, the orchestra - I didn't find it. I hear them, I see them, but I don't know who they are. They do good deeds in secret, as Christians should.

Sublime
Many thumbs up for this music, which is sublimely beautiful, but the arrogant hubris of the poster is appalling. What does your catholic bible say about the sin of pride? You, sir, are in desperate need of some lessons in humility, just as your savior taught.
On the contrary, what’s appalling is the supreme arrogance of those who believe they can fully appreciate this quintessentially Catholic work even though they’re not Catholic. How did you become so diabolically arrogant?
00:18:10
If we are to follow your reasoning (and the POV of Norvis Ordo Watch, et. al.) the turning point for the Catholic Church was Vatican II. Have any Popes since then been "real?"
And could anyone raised in the so-called "Catholic Church" since then be a true Catholic?
If so, then there probably aren't many truly Catholic people left to fully appreciate this music.
Well, I suppose the rest of us will just have to get what we can from it.
If your concerns are genuine, you’ll begin by studying here: novusordowatch.org/start-here/ If not, you won’t.
The conductor who conducts the Gregorian introitus in this way shows how little he knows about Gregorian chant and how it should be guided. Otherwise he is very good indeed.
Kindly elaborate.
@@JeremiahAlphonsus HAHAHA! You are funny. If Bach can "ascend" despite his Protestantism, then so can us, too.
Astonishing arrogance from you. Bach's musical taste and ability was infinitely superior to yours or anyone else's today. For you to place yourself on his level--or rather, drag him down to yours--is deeply perverse. Have you no shame?
Bach actually converted to Catholicism at the end of his life
I'm sure people who have faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and God and believe the scriptures ( the text of this work is Psalms and parts of the New Testament ) and understands music will appreciate this more than any Catholic who never reads Scripture and has little knowledge of music.
Catholicism IS Christianity. All others claiming the name are-like Antipope Francis, for example-frauds.

^^^ Thus speaks a troglodyte. ^^^
Nuff said
Mozart was an actual Catholic. Francis is not; ergo, not pope.
Mozart was a free mason ; but nearly all free masons in Austria at that time were catholics. Johan Sebastian Bach was a protestant and he composed the most beautiful mass ever. Had a very interesting concversation about composers and religion in Leipzig with a protestant minister...
😮😊
It's really amazing how many Protestants love to sing Masses in choral societies. Do they realize they are singing what they have rejected, or what their forbears have rejected? Apparently not.
Perhaps that's not the point to them personally. I'm an evangelical, for example, and I enjoy listening to mass music, though I don't agree with it doctrinally. Don't Catholics sing "Amazing Grace," which magnifies grace rather than works as the way of salvation?
And yet they remain blind to the depths.
@@JeremiahAlphonsus De depth being the recognition of the universalism under the authority of the church with as the head an unfaillible pope, this is the main point of difference betwen protestants of all denominations, orthodox and catholics. As actual fact you are a protestant my friend. A true follower of Martin Luther (who originally accepted every dogma of the catholic church except the authority of the pope - oa in selling "aflaten" for a lettle money all your sins have been annulled)
@@RogerVerhiestIt’s not Protestant to understand that only actual Catholics can be actual popes, and that since Jorge Bergoglio isn’t an actual Catholic he therefore can’t possibly be an actual pope. Start reading the Novus Ordo Watch site regularly. It’s time to get real; really real.
While this conductor appears to be controlling everything, all he is doing is following what the superb chorus and orchestral musicians are doing - as marked in the score.
Not likely. I am a musician, and they are following the conductor. One simply does. The score doesn't tell the performers everything. Someone must hold it all together, balance chords, adjust expression, et. He is doing that.
'The score doesn't tell the performers everything.' Correct.

I fear there is nothing snobbish about this introduction. It is cant and bigotry of the worst kind. Such views have fuelled tension and strife between differing beliefs down the ages. By the way Jeremiah, I grew up a Catholic but have been an avowed atheist since my teens. However, my ears and ability to appreciate beautiful music is as great as any committed Catholic. I suggest you keep your abhorrent views between yourself and your God.
How judgmental of you. Ironic! (Since you no doubt pride yourself on being exquisitely open-minded, and thus exquisitely open to alternative perspectives.) At any rate, as a wretched apostate, you above all others are unable to fully appreciate this glorious Catholic music. Repent. Clothe yourself in ashes and sackcloth. As one totally conformed to this rotting age, like Antipope Francis you’re on the road to burning in hell for eternity.
The age of the audience is telling about the appeal of mozart nowadays 😢
Yes, most youth today are complete philistines. But they’ve been failed by their philistine parents. Such is today’s vaunted “progress.” The true Dark Ages are upon us.
Don't worry too much! Older people are a renewable resource.
This quintessentially Catholic masterpiece is, of course, fully appreciable, and fully appreciated, only by actual Catholics. Hence the infernal likes of Antipope Francis-along with every other kind of heretic, apostate, and heathen-cannot, and do not, fully appreciate its depths. Nevertheless, even a partial appreciation of such sublime works yields an artistic experience infinitely superior to that flowing from any of today’s shameless sonic vandalism. Offended? Whether you think Francis is the pope or not is irrelevant. The person elected by the College of Cardinals is pope. There have been millions throughout history who have not accepted the pope. Their non-acceptance does not make a person pope or not. You’re simply a non-Catholic who does not recognize the person elected by the College of Cardinals as pope. Nothing wrong with that. You’re simply not Catholic on religious grounds. If you say Francis is not pope on legal grounds then you’re outside of the body politic. Francis is recognized by 138 countries as the head of the Vatican City State, who’s head is called the Pope. You may not accept Elizabeth II as Queen of England or Joe Biden as President of the U.S. But they are. Likewise, Francis is Pope of the Vatican City State under international law.
