Hi Monica, thank you very much for your kind words. I'm a 'non-arty jargon' type of person, so hopefully the way I personally think come across ok to everyone. Paul 🎨
Do you work with different consistency paints? *Leave me a comment* , I would be interested to know, and if you would like to learn more about do's and don'ts in watercolor, this is a great video to watch next: bit.ly/3515DG0
🙏 I never got a proper art education, especially with watercolors, and now I’m in highschool with 0 clue how to paint using watercolors. You sir are a lifesaver.
Thank you very much, don't worry thought, I may have been painting for over 40 years, but I never went to college or art school either, I'm completely self-taught by learning through my own mistakes. 😉
Good Morning from Orange County CA! Thank you for this video, it helped me alot. I just discovered your videos on birds and am sooo happy. I love painting them but mine are not nearly as realistic as yours are. Now that I have your videos to learn from I know I will improve. Thank you again, love your quiet sense of humor. Have a wonderful day Paul.
You are so welcome Elizabeth! What a lovely comment for me to first to read after filming for much of the day. I'm pleased that my video here are helping you learn this lovely medium of ours, watercolour! Chat soon and keep those brushes wet, Paul 🎨
Hello I found your channel as Paul Clark gave your channel a shout out this morning in his video. Looking forward to painting more nature inspired paintings.
Had a light bulb moment when you said that you used the thickest color when finishing. I think I have been adding thin color over and over. Instead of thickening subsequent layers.
Hi Donna, you can build up your colour gradually using the same mix and consistency, as long as the previous layer is dry. That's the beauty with watercolours being a transparent medium, because you can build up the layers gradually, avoiding trying to lift off more concentrated paints when we make an error. Plus layering watercolour is the tried and tested method that many artists use, it's what watercolour is after all, all about. Paul 🎨
Wow this is the only video that really explained really well! Thank you I will be testing this 👍

Thank you for watching Becky, I'm glad to have been of some help. Paul 🎨
