I recall listening to this song for the first time in my early 30s when I came home on a Autumn evening and never knew that this hidden track was there. I sat in my truck thinking about past relationships, my childhood, and the pain I was holding onto for years that night after going out with friends that Saturday night. After listening to the last song on this CD I saw extra tracks playing and I never let it play through after listening to it countless of times. When the hidden track played I was in a state of amazement and release. I automatically burst into tears and felt the weight on my chest lift and my heart started to open and feel happiness and peace for the first time since my youth. This was the turning point of my life and to start the change that has been going for the past 20 years. Music is healing and allows us to reach deeper into ourselves to find ourselves and to heal. I'm so grateful for this song and the time I found it, and for AFI to release it to evoke the event I had and to inspire others. Blessings and love to who reads my testimony, and I hope that you find your inner peace and tranquility.
I love this extra track, hidden track... I was getting a tattoo and my artist was playing this album. We arrived at this song. It was a beautiful time for me. The song was perfect.
I first heard this entire album at 16 heading to my dads place while on a bus. Talked to a brother and sister with their Italian cousin, we traded Off Spring and AFI cds, this album was my first introduction to AFI. Kinda miss being 16 now, school was all I worried about, not a job/rent/life
Every time I hear this/these songs imagine these scenes. 4:29- A woman in her late 30s/early 40s leaving flowers at her husband’s grave on a gloomy day. 4:47- As she leaves the cemetery, we then cut a boy near by, writing these words down that are being spoken. 6:09- Another scene, Davy years later, is by a lake reading the same poem, thinking about what these words mean to him now. 7:22- Next scene, an older gentleman is sitting by a fire place reading the same poem. It’s the same person in all three scenes, reflecting on his life.
@@Seanny1039 Haha I'm a guitarist I know that I was just pointing out that its usage here is sexy. The way it clashes with the key, how it's mixed really fluidly, how it kinda drags you into the chorus as opposed to the first chorus happening after a silent beat. It's one of those tiny decisions I love way too much lmao
This is my life; this is a turtle (How did an effort wig appear?) Disco name: Rita National (My prize to dance appears) I'm turning graceful; dad inferno (I'm ready to dance on; loving this song) Dennis Thatcher's so unnatural (I rate minor/low)
Full song in its entirety, …but home is nowhere and the song after the long pause and after the spoken word can be found on its own if you search this time imperfect.

I bet it happened during the Spring
I got it with Answer that and Stay Fashionable in the 90’s.
So much chills from reading this comment. Love to you
Hear you. Love this.
8.00 onwards takes me back about 20 years... I've missed this tune.. so many memories
37 years old. Man this takes me back. I wish i had an old AFI shirt still
Sing the Sorrow is one of the best albums of all time.
I haven't heard this song in forever. it's like I fell in love again
With meeeee?
This takes me so far back, to so many memories I lost. Death is a midnight runner.
finding the full version of this song again at 26 feeling helpless and alone during very despairing times sure is a mood
This is my life
*THIS IS A TURTLE*
how dare you
Absent of grace marked as infertile

This song changed my fucking life... fit like a glove, it fit and I couldn't quit

Wow, I was fifteen and this tune was always my favourite from the album.

remember when I first listened to this, fell in love with it...
Love them always! I love how each album they grow..
From 08.00 mins has been delled on Spotify... Sadly .. its the best bit of the album..
Absolutely haunting
The second part of this song should be released as a stand alone song.
In our cancer of passion you said “death is a midnight runner”
the spoken poem is beautiful if you really listen to it
Spaghetti
Doesn't matter how many times I listen, I still need to look up the spoken word
The guitar thing at 1:40 is sexy
I like how it goes "vwvvWEERRRRvvv"
Lol, if you’re near a plugged in guitar slide your hands up and down the strings it’s called a power slide

@@HedeccaTamer Jade, at least in the 1999 to 2006 eras, was super creative with his guitar playing.
@@HedeccaTamer Yea it's like he slid a chord instead of a single note.It did sound great,Jade is very underrated.

"...but home IS nowhere"
1nothingmater, can you please enable this video to be played on mobile devices so all AFI fans can enjoy this on the go?
gs
gs?
It's on mobile now, I remember certain songs used to be restringed on mobile
nostalgia trip
anyone know where to find the full lyrics to this ?
I know it's been 8 years but you need to search for 'This Time Imperfect' for the second half (after the spoken word bit)
All of the lyrics are in the booklet. Buy the fucking album!
@@sheepdavis it has been 9 years since my comment and by now i know the lyrics by heart, even without the booklet
Is this the full song or two or more combined?

I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them fall away.
Schism?
@FairFuse yup!
This is my life I am a turtle
It’s turtles all the way down
