The american nightmare, but the american dream lives on in the Philippines

The american dream is dying or dead already. The middle class is gone. Everyone is poor it seems. Inflation and recession have devastated us. Food/grocery prices are crazy, fast food has skyrocketed. Rent and housing has skyrocketed and become ridiculous. People can barely get by paycheck to paycheck. Low wages.
There's a housing crisis, a renting crisis, a dating crisis, a marriage crisis, a divorce crisis. A drug crisis, a depression crisis, an economic crisis. Everything seems so hopeless.
The american dream of finding a nice wife and buying a cute house with a white picket fence seems impossible for most of us. Or finding true love, in this day and age of situationships and hookup culture is like finding a needle in a haystack.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
The american dream, the spirit of it, of freedom, love, life, adventure, the pursuit of happiness etc, is alive and well in the philippines for foreigners.
