- Introducing the Impulse Cooktop, also known as: the highest performing stove.
Deposits for preorders are live today (save $500 on early orders): www.impulselab...
In designing the Impulse Cooktop, we had three goals:
1. deliver a phenomenal consumer product and experience
2. make it easier to cultivate a climate-friendly home
3. refuse to compromise on the quality of your everyday life
So we built the Impulse Cooktop to be the best stove out there, and we think we've succeeded (believe us, we've tested a lot of stoves).
Here are some highlights you can look forward to:
state-of-the-art proprietary temperature sensors in every custom-built burner
12.8” LCD screen
removable, magnetic knobs
10 kW peak power (that's approx. 72,000 BTU/h vs. 18,000 for the best gas stoves)
3 kWh integrated battery
flexible wiring, runs on 120V or 240V connections
Discounted MSRP: $5,999 (not inclusive of applicable duties, taxes or rebates/credits). The Impulse Cooktop is eligible for the 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit which equates to an expected $1,600+ refund. Depending on income and location, additional federal and local credits may also apply.
The Impulse Cooktop is unlike anything you’ve cooked on. Reserve your's today at impulselabs.com.
This DJ gear looks amazing!
😅
Its fire ❤🔥
Turnup dude!
I thought that and came here to say that
i swear some drunk dj in a house party might actually accidentally burn their hand while trying to cue a track
The magnetic knobs are an awesome idea.
They're great, but far from original ideas. Bosch/Siemens/Neff have had similar knobs for years.
@@Ambroos very true
And those other brands also have a completely flat top to make, cooking and cleaning easier.
@@Obtuse94 yeah, I have a feeling this is really for the Americans who aren't ready to let go of the past. In Europe at least this hob doesn't really solve any problems. My Siemens has easy controls, happily blasts close to 4kW into a pot and has a pretty good temperature sensor for frying. And that's just an affordable mid-range model.
Hope they sell replacements 😂
I hate that knobs are becoming a lixury but love that manufacturers are starting to understand that making everything touchscreen doesn't actually feel good to use
@tesla
@@jonathanfoster4202😂😂😂
They always knew and they don't care because touchscreen is cheaper
@@benjaminproton7800 it's also more expensive to repair, so they can get even more money
As a part time DJ who loves to cook, this is perfect !
cook? you mean boil water?
@@thebirdhasbeencharged *cook water*
As a full time dj this is awesome
Why am I watching a stove ad?!
Sick!
the moment he took off the knobs = Me really satisfied!
WOW!! The magnetic knobs, the built in battery, the lights and the temperature control... now this is crazy!!! Love it
Saw you guys on S³. Wonderful engineering!
#2 this.
Also just now coming from that video
This seems sounds like a 4 burner version of the Breville ControlFreak. Your competitors are cooktops like the Thermador Freedom, which offer full surface cooking and are flat for easier cleanup, but they don't offer the temperature control. If you made a 36in version one with larger recessed burners/coils for easier cleanup, I would instantly buy.
The standout part here is how beautiful it is, extremely function, and just oozes class with the led screen.
I think they have the glass burners separated from the metal back to reduce the likelihood of cracking from glass damage, which is the most common way these cooktops fail.
In that sense, they're competing with the durability of a natural gas cooktop, which doesn't really care if you drop things on it because the entire top surface is metal.
For the price of 5~6 control freak, you get 4 instead, idk sounds like a meh deal
@@jasonqqBut the battery won't last forever. The high heat output is dependent on the battery, especially for 120V installations. With 120V, if the battery runs out you're splitting 1500-1800W across four burners. Not much of a concern for home cooking so long as the battery is working, since the high heat is really just to get things started, long cooking will merely simmer.
My point is, it won't be maintenance-free for decades like a decent gas stove. It does use a battery to achieve it's performance. I'm not sure how long it will last for daily use. Maybe decades. But the battery will eventually need to be replaced. In 20 or 30 years, will a new battery be available? Will it be a custom job so expensive that it will be better value to buy a new stove? I don't know but I'd accept the risk for twenty years of great performance.
Be in a civilised world and use 240v and not have blackouts.
What an incredibly awesome product. I cannot wait to buy it. The temperature control is what I want!!
Fabulous equipment!
Improvement suggestion:
Connect two of the hot plates so that one long pan can be used to cook things like long fish.
Please release these in Australia
Or long griddles. I make pancakes quite often and wish I could use very long pan to make tons of them all at once
You can do that - it should just work!
these startup products usually never escape the launch country unless theyre super popular unfortunately, just look at framework laptop, they still actively stop you from buying it outside of certain countries
really cool concept especially the quick boiling and the magnetic knobs especially.
i guess you can still put a wide/long pot on the cooker, even if it's bigger than the hot plate
should work, metal conducts well + induction might work for a bigger range than the plate's circle (but don't quote me on that)
Yes! Exact temperature control for a burner. I love it!
It's so beautiful, I would actually clean this after every use
Wow. This is musical dj instrument. Cooktop. Technophiles and audiophiles will kill for it..never seen such tech in cooktop.
10/10 Best cooktop stove in the world and in history never seen something quite like it..
Gorgeous looking stove! Analog combined with technology - love it!
As an Engineer I have to say: I love it!it is the answer to the question: What is the best technical solution for a cook top? 👍👍👍
The knobs are Just “Wow" ❤❤❤❤❤
the magnetic knobs was fantastic. wonderful idea
Man, this is awesome. I'm so glad your video showed up in my recommendations feed.
Would you ever consider an OLED screen? I feel like an LCD screen detracts from the sleekness and high-quality presentation of this product, especially at such a premium price.
This is a bit of a video production factor (e.g. dynamic range). In person it's significantly reduced.
Factor for LCD vs. OLED is temperature -- it has to work if you leave a hot cast iron on top of the screen.
@@sam_damico Thank you for the reply! Temperature concerns make sense.
When the day comes I have my own kitchen, I will strongly consider your stovetop.
tf u want an oled for a cooktop for?😂
@@Noproblem396I guess for darker colors so it looks sleeker maybe
OLED burns out over time, LCD lasts a lifetime
The fire is beats dude
@@p0xygenfire is the beats dude
This actually looks like an innovative product. Probably out of my price range, but excited to see where this may be going!
Any chance you could make a modular burner so you could purchase any number of burners and use them anywhere there is 120v or 240v outlets? Examples in RV’s, Tiny homes, small apartments or extended stay hotels? Not really needing a display (could use a phone/tablet app that won’t get food spilt on it instead) but like the magnetic knobs and the degree control.
thanks for the comment - you're not the first or only to request a form factor like this and it's certainly something we're keeping in mind
The magnetic knobs 😍
I never thought I'd want to buy a specific stove
The Magnetic Knobs are Standard at Neff Inductions Systems for more that 4 Years. And you only need one Knob because the top of the Knop is touch sensitive an you can Choice one of the 4 Fields or put two seamingless together
Thanks for pointing that out. A friend of mine has had a stove with similar magnetic knobs for years now, so I don't quite get the excitement for those in the comments.
Amazing product, finally a unit that has enough power.
Would nice to see a model with downdraft ventilation!
Downdraft ventilation is horrible in terms of efficiency and cooking is worse than 2nd hand smoke. Always opt for a strong overhead ventilation system.
The lighting is awesome on the stove tops & the magnetic knobs are brilliant
Y’all should make single burner countertop model
Been cooking on medium high, the middle plate on an induction hob for years. Does the job innit
I think this video could do a better job explaining the batteries and what they can be used for
Do they provide power if a 4 burners are on?
The most important question is how good is the heat resistance of that LED and all of those electronics, because i have seen to many fancy kitchen ideas that had a really bad heat ressistance and would simply cook themselves from normal use.
Looks beautiful, nicely done!
This looks so futuristic. Love it
Looks amazing.
Looks nice, but why the battery? Makes it unnecessarily more expensive and resource intensive.
Agreed, anyone who needs to cook in an outage is going to have some other backup source of power for everything else in their house. The battery is just expensive ballast to fluff the price.
*This is SPECTACULAR! Awesome Stuff!*
This is the future i want !
this beet boutta be lit 🔥💯
I really appreciate innovation like this!
But how do you get 10kw out of a wall socket?
And why would i need a 3kw battery?
I live in germany, i haven't experienced power outages more often than like two times within 28 years and not a single one within the last 10...
Also, instead of a huge ass display, i'd prefer a smaller OLED one!
I think you’ve answered your own question there. I think it charges up its battery while not in use, allowing you to get higher discharge rates during cooking than you could otherwise get out of the wall. But that does mean you can only do 20 minutes or so at peak performance.
I’d love to get a two fase version of this cooker with a smaller battery (I’m in the Netherlands)
A pot of water boils in a minute, 3kW can theoretically work for 20 minutes at such a high power.
My question is, can that battery boost the power for short periods of time if I don't have 10 kW connection in my outlet?
To charge it slow but discharge it fast.
i am german too. there is no household outcome which can serve 10 kWh
Now ,
I want this
this is awesome. can't wait to own one! 😆😁
It would be nice if you'd produce an induction stove/range as well as just the cooktop. We're not set up for separate devices. Of course, it'd probably be tough finding a place to hide the battery in a combined unit.
So sleek. I love it.
Ohhh good, I so want this now in my new house
Beautiful, but the controls and panel need to be remote mounted so they don't get continuously dirty or even damaged.
Love it but not sure the temperature control justifies the premium over a normal induction hob which can do all that too!
It's beautiful! Can't wait to pick one of these up
My guy was cooking up some fire beats.
Really nice. Here are two reasons I can’t buy it. (1) my existing cooktop is 36”. (2) I have a drawer under my existing (gas) cooktop, and the thickness of this unit would cost me the use of that drawer. Any chance you could do a version where the battery is a separate piece and connected via cable? That would make it easier to find a place for it.
As an European, I have absolutely no idea of what temperature he was setting
Love how this is hitting the DJ algorithm
This is amazing! Pricing is the only factor from being affordable
As an induction stove and thanks to the integrated battery, our product qualifies for the 30% battery tax credit through The Residential Clean Energy Credit - this means signifiant savings off the MSRP. Depending on your location and income, there are additional federal and local credits/rebates. Learn more in our FAQs: www.impulselabs.com/faqs
This is what I came to the channel for.
My consumer path;
Watched the s3 vid. Glanced at you site. Saw the price. Finished the vid. Searched for the channel for more information. Started the vid playing while I scroll the comments.
No audio of the text, ill have to play it again to gain the context. Doing something like dishes RN so ill move on to something else.
Can you put it in celsius so that it makes 100000000% more sense?
"But, but, its just a induction top. And I WANT IT!?"
Bro dis camera setup lit af
This is such an outstanding concept with very finessed execution. Putting big batteries >>inside
we definitely have plans to launch additional home appliances beyond this first cooktop, stay tuned :)
10Kw power boost, 😳 Holy moly.
i would love a range like this but without the expensive battery, dont need it in Germany where stove are connected with 3phase 400v
I like stove very much.
dude the CDJ 4000’s are such an upgrade
truth
i want a mini version for my van
This scrams Dyson quality nice!
this is beautiful
Nice design hope you succeed
I sure hope you can change the units to Celsius
Chef by day, DJ by the night
Wait this is actually a game changer
absolutely amazing
Design finally meets function!
very nice. pity I wouldn't be able to afford the food to cook with afterwards though
Nice DJ set just need to put the records on
Man those knobs 🥹
For the same price I could get a whole kitchen with a stove 😂
So many things give me pause on this, cannot imagine the reviews will be good for this unit.
Same
"I love complaining but I don't actually have anything constructive to say"
@@edenassos for one lithium ion batteries so close to the cooktop. 10kw capacity despite a normal 110v outlet only carrying 1.8kw capacity. This would require the battery to put out 8.2kw continuously, which would not only drain it incredibly fast but is also currently not technically possible from a li ion batteries that size. Magnetic buttons would most likely require magnetic flux sensors to read the position of the knob, which is very unlikely to work in the presence of such a strong electric field as put out by a induction cooktop.
Hope that's enough for you.
@@edenassos I did write an entire paragraph to respond to you with my concerns. But it never got published. I think they have a filter in the comments stopping any criticism from being shown.
@@edenassos c.ritisi. em seems to get not get published in the comments.
A thing of beauty.
Omg, looks sick!
I see the future of cooking
People get more excited on ease of cleaning than other technical features.
Looks cool but in reality i wonder how actually well itll do in a professional kitchen environment the backup battery seems cool but usually in a kitchen i place hot stuff all over the place and heat degrades lithium ion batteries faster i wonder how much is the battery replable imagine the battery puffing up and then cracking the induction part
Long term vision of turning appliances in our homes into grid-scale batteries is so good. Hope you will one day share where the idea came from.
Why not induction? Induction is not just to heat up fast (which it does), but also cools down fast.
I don’t know if I would make scrambled eggs or throw a party there 😂
every DJ's dream stove
It's awesome
#please don't sold-out
I'm impressed
Even tho I can't afford one right now but I'll save this vid for later
I want one
I love your idea. i would really appreshate if you would make a lower cost one and also tap into the asian market.
I'm sold 😂
Looks very interesting.
kinda cool but also many questions.
really like the magnetic knobs idea. its 1000% better than touch controls but I also don't think they can get to be as tactile as normal knobs.
like with normal knobs I don't need to look at the to know the settings.
also really don't like the placement but that's more a general problem with modern stoves. why does every stove top needs knobs on the top nowadays?? i don't want to have my hand anywhere near a pot filled with boiling and sometimes splashing water.
it also just takes away room where u can put stuff.
also a big question. can u put hot stuff on the screen area?
Take your kitchen into the 21st century, fantastic! 😎
imagine getting hacked through your coming stove lmao
Now, I have too many options. It's either this or 3 Breville control freaks or 3 Vision Infinity Cooktop
do we also have to sync it with our phones and agree to a shady privacy statement
I love the magnetic knobs, clearly you understand that nooks are difficult to clean! Oh wait nvm the burners are raised :/ super close to being the perfect product…
A-lot of what keeps the raised gas stove burners somewhat clean is the heat. I don’t think there is heat down by those LEDs
Precision temperature control needs to be a standard for stove tops now. Too many people creating toxic chemistry experiments with their dinner around the country every day because we use the “low, medium, high” system.
What is the purpose of the integrated battery? Outages aren’t a thing these days
I wonder where it's made.
DJ Chef: Now watch me cook
I... want it
