Samsung Phone's have a feature call adaptive battery; once it learns your usage patterns ( usually a week or two) your phone will last a few hours longer.

for anyone concerned about the screen on time for the 22 series , i suggest using adaptive battery as the phone will learn from your habits when to use more and less power, my screen on time has been progressively getting better every couple days and iim now at 6 and half hours on the 22+. great video though Shevon your personality shines through and your videos always feel super comfy

i am struggling to get past 3 hours of on screen time :( i've had the phone for about 5 or 6 days now. my battery drains so fast

@@Tktroy yes. Got the device yesterday. Just a problem for me though to adapt to this huge screen and ppi. It'll take a week or so I guess. Loving the 120hz display. Just one thing no back cover and screen guard in the box.

In my opinion, Shevon's content is up there with Marques Brownlee's content. He is top 5 content creators in the tech space for sure.
Marques Brownlee said he got 9 hours on screen time on regular s22 and david day and half on s22+ 😏, all jokes aside Shevon did a great video and showed us his real world usage, conclusion is he is a heavy user. Hes going to carry battery pack on android, as apple will have better optimization for battery. Glad he was very open and honest about his experience despite it dying early in the video. Regular folks will get by without a problem, glad he was able to try it out and experience that camera and everything is has to offer I love my s22 but understand its flaw and accept its not perfect but good enough for my needs.

used to be iphone fan boy bra this s22plus is so good i also use note 20 ulrta and iphone 13 pro my main sim on the s22 plus i used pixel too but samsung is just better

I've been thinking about the Pixels too but they're not that available here so maintenance repair could be an issue if ever something happens to it. And the way I'm seeing it, the S22 lineup has got more features from Google than the latest Pixel themselves! lol
@@mr.smigol8769 i actually considered pero since mag-major upgrade ako from my iPhone 7 Plus, mas nakita kong mas sulit kung mag-S22 ako. i'm glad na na-highlight yung widgets sa android kasi nga interactive kesa sa iOS na pang-display lang, laking tulong pa naman nun sakin. downside lang talaga is yung battery pero di naman ako heavy user liker Shevon. i believe, preference of use lang talaga siya. hehe let me know ano mapili mo! they're both good phones! hirap mamili.

Nice real world experience, some things I noticed and my experience on my regular s22:
1. Myfitnesspal has always burned my battery on all my phones on android. The app if not restricted in background usage will devour your battery. Even cronometer does this battery drainage not sure why.
2. Widgets will consume battery more than anything as its getting information from wifi or bluetooth, or gps or emails/apps and constantly syncing the information.
3. Video calls will drain my regular s22 by like 20-30% per hour.
Out of the box is around 6-7 on screen on time, battery saver + dark mode 8-9 screen on time. If you fine tune your apps usage in background (device and care battery, tap on apps you want to change) you will save more battery without affecting how you want to use the phone. I can tell your phone shooting videos and cameras burned the battery quickly because GOS affects it.
Overall great video s22 is great device as it can be configured to last much longer but its not like iPhone where everything is set for you, this is good representation of someone who justs uses the phone from out the box without any tuning.
6-7 is amazing, most people won't be using video calling or the highest brightness or 4k video etc, my mans needs a 13 pro max for his heavy content usage!
@@MrDamburger That or just use magsafe chargers or just two phones. Best bet he does charger and two phone combo. Better safe than sorry edit US update gave me two more hours screen on time so now its 8-9 out of box 10-11 battery saver+dark mode (without widgets or video calls).
S22 plus really has strictly average battery backup. I upgraded from my S21 plus and that phone gave good backup. 7-8 hrs SOT even after 1 yr of purchase.
S22 plus, 2 weeks in, the phone always dies off after 5-6 hrs max. Since I work mostly outdoors, now I have an additional concern on my head whether the phone will die or not. Really disappointed. I'll most certainly switch to iPhone 14 pro max when it comes out if it's battery is as stellar as the 13 series.

@@MrDamburger 5-6 hrs Max. Average is lesser. I have had some days like the one in video where battery died in the afternoon. Never with S21 plus though.
I think there is something up with the camera. It absolutely burns through the battery. My friend's s22 plus also does the same. Both snapdragon variants.

I've been using the S22 (Snapdragon 8 variant) for more than 2 weeks now I can see the difference (after my battery learned the patterns of use) lasting for way longer. Close to 6.5-7hrs SOT. At first playing CoD it used to get a bit hotter than I'd like, but now it's a smooth experience. The only thing is that I'd recommend to try to phone in person first, just to see if the S22 is the right size for you at 6.1` or S22+
You're right, my S22+ was frustrating to use after moving from my iPhone 12 mini... The battery life was terrible... I've wanted to return it after a month but Then it it improved, like i was really amazed at the battery performance, now it actually lasts a day w/ 6-7+ Screen-On Time.
I think the added touch of seeing my home, Toronto, in your videos just makes it that much better.

I really don't like it when a phone dies on me when the day isn't over...I'm using the Xiaomi 11T and that keeps me up and running a whole day including the evening till around 10 ish . Batterlife is the most important part of a smartphone for me ☺️

i have 11T pro and it stays way more then s22 plus i charge it full at 7am before i go to work and last with me till 10 pm just like yours .. I've never ever worried abt my phone die .. a good battery life in the phone jst gives u a peace of mind

Always switch between the two. At this point they are on par. Only difference is iMessage. If all your friends are on whatsapp or something comparable then literally the same. That front facing video on here tricked me I thought it was his professional camera.

unrealistic to expect a battery to last that long with that type of use. There isnt a apple product that lasts all day with heavy use either, We put unrealistic expectations on these devices....
His iphones usually go for more than 7hours screen on time

I consistently get more screen on time on my 13 mini. Kind of odd considering Samsung’s battery is often a selling point. Bought my mini for the size, but the battery is better than I’d thought.
Samsung's tend to improve after a couple of weeks tbf. They learn your usage patterns and optimise accordingly.

Adaptive battery takes about 2 weeks to a month to get used to your habits before the battery works correctly.

Good video, your content grew on me. Android battery life is terrible, that's one thing I wish they would fix on android based devices. It boils down to those pesky background apps that no matter how many times you close them, they suck on your battery like a vampire at a blood buffet.

To expand your battery life considerably; I've found that the main power sucking culprit is the news app section of your homescreen. You can go into your phones settings to turn it off. Plus going into your apps individually in their app settings and turning off their data so that it stops them from running in the background, turn on dark mode.

For the galaxy s22 battery, don't worry about it because for me at first, my galaxy s21 didn't have good battery the first few days but it got better. It just needs to learn your battery pattern.
Edit: I didn't know he was using it for a few weeks now so my bad. Also, its kinda weird to be getting that type of battery life on the plus variant but it isn't unexpected because of the 8 Gen 1.

Can't speak for the +, but the S22's battery life is abysmal. It's worse than my S10. 3-4 hours of SOT after 3 weeks of use.

I have the s20+ and the battery life sucks when you're actually using the phone and it's got a bigger battery.
The only suggestion I'd make is more of a balance between specifications and content.
I want everyone to know…I make UA-cam videos, so I know first hand how much work goes into one. Shevon’s stuff is NEXT LEVEL when it comes to how much footage, composition, energy, and editing is required for a video like this and I can see that a HUGE portion was done without a camera man. I was STRESSING OUT about how much time and thought has to go into a video like this - and the composition of each shot. Just. Wow. Jaw on the floor right now. Battery life is poor on Samsung despite having a larger capacity.

Don't be afraid it all depends, what your usagd is like with your phone, I think the reason Shevon's S22+ didn't last long was due to his heavy usage and if he had adapative brightness on or not, I think for a power user the battery is bad, but a lot of people aren't heavy phone users like Shevon or others who work in such a fast changing industry like tech.
Samsung might improve battery life through updates so keep your head up!

The whole video is clean, I subscribed on this video and it’s first one I’ve seen from you. I must say though, the Bluetooth was on the whole day which kills the battery fast, shouldn’t matter but it does help.
