I love the way Cory interacts with the crowd. I love smaller venues like that!! The new album is fucking amazing start to finish in my opinion!!! You get a little bit of every Corey from every band! I’m guessing Midnight features the original version of the lyric, and he altered it to use for Black John in 2013. He does that kind of thing a lot, like how The Pessimist in 2010 had that “half-alive and stark, raving, free” line, then Slipknot used that same lyric in Custer in 2014. But then you dig a little deeper and discover Corey actually wrote that lyric for a completely different demo song all the way back in the 90s or whatever, and just reused it twice.
This has a very 80's Fright Night/Terminator vibe. I know I have heard something else that sound similar, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe Halloween since Corey is a fan. It's a cool song though.

I felt the same way about CMFT. I really enjoyed songs like Everybody Dies On My Birthday, HWY 666 and Culture Head but the rest of the album just didn't really do it for me personally but CMF2 has been right up my alley and I've had a blast with it
