Fuli and kion likely did love each other, but not in a way that they were both attracted to one another, but to where friends share a loving bond between them. As for when they met Rani & Azad, Fuli and Kion found someone to be by their side, as their mate, but still shared a bond of love they had as best friends.
Kion liked fuli but she did not have a way to express his emotions

I know many were wanting kion a fuli to end up together but it wasn't going to happen since not only were they different members of the big cat family but also different worlds. Kion was of the royal family and Fuli was one of the subjects, along with the biggest thing was kion was a lion and fuli was a cheetah. They both likely loved each other in a way that best friends share with one another but found another who they could share their lives with though still loved each other since they were best friends/family.
I have proof that it should have been a thing.
1. Kion gave Fuli second in Command but he could have given it to Ono or Beshte but no. Kion trusts Fuli more.
2. Fuli was the most worried about Kion than any of Kion’s friends, she was the only one to calm him down when he was out of control. She was the only one to suggest Tuliza to Kion when he was out of control.
3. They knew each other since they were kids. And Kion just met Rani and Kion and Rani hated each other at the beginning.
4. Fuli and Azaad just met and they just magically fall in love?
So yeah those are all my reason why they should have been together. Try to change my mind.
Sometimes love at first sight is real so you should believe it

I mean you could be stubborn so i doubt i can promise that it can change your mind but i’ll try.
First off: rani was becoming closer and closer to kion by the hour in their time and 10 minutes in our time. She confessed at the end that she saw kion as a literal reflection of her.
2nd: she is that one character that’s identical and pretty much meant to be, for the main character
3rd: they smile almost all the time when they’re with each other.
4th: they lead the exact same way and also know what they can say to comfort each other
My final point (which kind of goes back to my 2nd one): they literally have the exact same way of how they live, both are royalty and loyal to the life long task bestowed upon them. They lead a group that defends their respective area, both can lose their temper if things go wrong. Both were born a leader, and it’s as they both sing, we’re of the same pride. Because they same so relatable to each other in pretty much every way. For rani it was her parents that she lost right away, and for kion it was his grand pa instead of rani with grand ma. If she wasn’t chosen to be queen, she would’ve remained leader of the night pride till the tree of life cycle ends, she’ll defend with strength and respect for the circle of life. Kion does that too
Bonus point: both are lions, it makes no sense for them not to fall in love when they’re pretty much alike. Mean while fuli is just that caring bff of kion, and if I remember correctly, fuli was pretty sassy and angry/mean to kion in ep 1 of season 1 as well.
extra bonus: it’s a cheetah and a lion, 2 completely different types of catlike creatures. There’s no reason just like irl, for 2 different race’s to fall in love and mate and such.

I was already a little annoyed at how stereotypical you sound and not getting what we mean by fuli and kion being together and their love but I was going to respect your opinion about it until you brought up races..
I feel the true reason they did not end up together was because they were different species. If Fuli was a lioness, than she more than likely would have become Kion's mate.

Well yes Fuli and Kion might have known each other longer BUT kion was just a cub, and of course it's normal for kids to have a crush but Kion felt something different with Rani even if they didn't know each other long, or Rani might've been headstrong and mean when they arrived but it's because she didn't had full trust on them yet, but when queen Janna died kion was the only one that comforted her when she was crying, kion was there when Rani doubted herself about being queen and kion was there to comfort her. And then when kion doubted himself as leader of the lion guard Rani told him that he didn't need anything to make him a good leader, he already showed true leadership with his guard.

The reason the Night Guard came in the last season is to show that Kion x Fulli isn’t gonna happen. So they brought Rani x Kion. They also gave Bunga x Bungu, and for some Azzad x Fulli. There is a reason, you can ship them but it doesn’t happen.

I like to believe Kion and Fuli were a thing between the time they were kids and the time they grew in the season 3 premier. But they drifted from it due to the responsibilities of their Guard duties and fear of judgment as different species.
But Fuli remained close to Kion and always defensive of him, supporting him and believing in him even against Rani herself.
