- This video shows how to use the new pad page re-assigning feature that was added in VDJ8.5/2021 b6017, which lets you redefine what your pad page selector buttons do
It also shows a little cavecat with locked pad pages and the pad page drop-down on some controller - and a trick to get around that if you prefer to do so

As i write i have v8. 5-64 b6067 version of vdj
I use pioneer ddj sb3
I am only getting the fourth pad which can be reassigned but not the rest of them..
Is it a problem with my controller?
What can i do about it. Before this i had reassigned all the pads as per my convenience. Now not possible. Pl help
I don't own a SB3, so I can't test it, and I'm not sure which pad pages are locked on that controller
But what happens if you create a new pad page and assign the selector buttons to that in the mapping (like I do with hotcues near the end of the video). Does that help?
I want to get rid of fader cuts on my Numark Platinum FX and replace it with STEM on VDJ 2021 but it is locked.
Yes, that is probably locked on that specific controller.
From the VDJ hardware manual: "A hardware/internal mode in which Pads perform a on-beat Crossfader movement pattern, simulating Scratch"

Hey brother I m having an issue on vdj 2021 my hotcues and not showing on my hotcues section .. it shows only on the poi only if there are hot cues saved ,, need help .
Hard to diagnose based on 1 line messages like here on YT. Maybe try asking in the VDJ facebook group. I'm there too and ready to help and so are a lot of other users and some of the developers

It's only there if your controller supports it
damn why doesn't it work on my Pioneer
I does on almost all slots on almost all controllers - including Pioneer controllers :)
@@klausmogensen8691 Thank you very much for your response, but okay, so you have no experience with the problem. I had also tried it manually in the mapping, but then the LED lighting reacted very strangely. pad selection button does not light up and the pads themselves are off and sometimes all white. Do you happen to have a map of a pioneer where you did this so that I can compare. I have a pioneer DDJ-SZ myself
@@dj-skip No, you shouldn't change the mapping for the pads. That should simply be pad 1, pad 2 and so on. It's the pad pages that needs changing if you want the pads to be something new

Hi Klaus good video! However The remappings don't save on custom Mappings on my DDJ 1000srt. It works when I am using the factory default mappings. This is a useful feature I wish I could get it to work on my custom mapping on my 1000srt. Please could you help me out?
Well if you remapped how the pad pages work, then this feature can't really work I guess
