- Rachel Bloom is the star, writer, and co-creator of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on The CW, a TV show that plays on the idea of love and romantic obsession through musical comedy. Prior to creating Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Bloom made hilarious music videos on UA-cam like “F*ck Me, Ray Bradbury” and “I Steal Pets.” Bloom uses comedy and musical theater to explore love, gender, and dating, while tapping into very personal topics like anxiety and depression.
In an interview with Quartz, Bloom talks about the gap between musical theater and real life, letting go of insecurities, and why people in romantic comedies are “generally psychotic”

crazy ex girlfriend is such a unique show. funny, daring and sarcastic. the songs are brilliant!
I have a feeling you and I can be friends
I really like her. She has such a presence of power and empathy (but she's past that point of letting empathy rule her life)
Haha @ those pissed off comments here from guys who feel personally attacked by her...just proving her point
Haven't seen any lol
Hey, this is a UA-cam video with a female comedian, so why are you scrolling into the comments?
Scroll back up and have a good day!
Thanks buddy! I am going to actually take that advice.
Good call

"How we'll win" implies that there's a _war._
"There are some male comedians that are challenged and a little afraid of female comedians. So when the thing they're trying to lay is funny, it fucks with their power dynamic. People in romantic comedies are generally pshFemale comedians because in When the thing they are trying to lay, it fucks with their power dynamic. when the first
Awesome
Not all murderers have bad handwriting
Where can I buy that sweatshirt?
3:33 so we got to humanize
If an all female Ghostbusters stared this woman and Sarah Silverman, it might have been watched.
The actual hell are you talking about, most men like funny women.
A lot of men like the idea of funny women but will go out of their way to scrutinize women who actually try to be funny.
This is in the context of comedians anyway, not just every guy.
@@Holygiant I don't get why regular, non-prejudiced people have to pay for sexist, racist or homophobic pieces of shit that make up a SMALL minorty of people....
@@DarkDekicDuka what do you mean "pay" for it? I definitely have not been fined for being a man.
romantic? comedy?
The show is infidelity propaganda and a manual for being a homewrecker.
ewqdsacxz765 chill it’s just a show
+jar4142, it's actually an excellent sitcom if you look past the infidelity propaganda, but I couldn't.
"infidelity propaganda" is my new favorite crazy-internet-word". xD
Thank you!
LOL, that’s hysterical. Her bad behavior is portrayed as being *very very* bad, harmful, and unacceptable. Her character is supposed to be delusional and messed up and acting badly. Just because a TV shows bad behavior it doesn’t mean it’s endorsing it. If you actually watched it you’d see the deep misery she gets herself in acting like an ass, and how she learns from it. The show is *about* deconstructing the rom-com type tropes that this kind of behavior is cute & ok in the name of “love” or “destiny”. Literally the whole point is that it’s not.
@@ewqdsacxz765 What the hell do you mean by "cheating propaganda"? Are you saying the show promotes cheating?? (If so, have you even watching...) That the show revolves around cheating??? I don't get what you're implying.
