As someone who started watching this channel a while back, one of the best things has been seeing you two getting into the world of cave exploring. I remember watching the first time you went into the cenote down there and Gus talking about that urge to just want to see what's around the next corner, and how awesome that sounded. Weird enough, that was a big moment for me, too. I had started watching because I'm one of the people for whom cave diving sounded absolutely terrifying, but getting to watch y'all demystify it meant that by the time you were getting into cave exploration, I could understand what the appeal of all of this was.
been absolutely binging your old videos! not a diver myself, but got here from a rabbit hole of caving and cave diving content. as a florida resident, never knew there were so many caves here!! keep it up fellas. got something special here :)
42:01 Did sailing when I was a kid. We had classes and written tests on knots lol. Theres knots for different parts of the boat/sail/etc, like one knot for securing the mast, one knot for the cable (we dont call them ropes) that pulls the sail in and several for making sure the boat doesnt drift off. I can barely remember 1 or 2 names much less how you do them anymore.
Woody with the flex 😂 gotta love that little guy thanks for the new video you guys are the best. That first 3 minute of poor visability was scary great work gus
Great to see some videos coming out again! On hydration, just to keep flagging the issue, the key is to be normally hydrated, over hydration also has risks (IPO/IPE), which affects swimmers as well as divers.
One recommendation from SSI is to drink even when you aren't thirsty. As a healthcare professional, I would have hoped that they also provide an upper limit for the layman, like x litres/ounces a day maximum. But alas, they leave it open-ended, running the risk of electrolyte removal through excessive drinking, opening a whole new box of issues 😅
I have only recently found your guy’s channel and I just want to say you guys are making want to go diving again but I haven’t gone in years so I think it may be time for me to do the refresher course. But I love your vids. Keep up the amazing work!
The knotty problem of knots at the end had me in stitches. Non-diver here but am always captivated and enthralled by your dives and/or exploration. What lies beneath is truly fascinating. Great job Gus; filming great too. Woody, you sacrificed being warm to flex those muscles in a T. 🙄🤣
I've seen a few of the explorer guys here in playa/Tulum and I assume the same in Cozumel use fingerless gloves, almost like motorcycle gloves with the fingers cut off and then burnt to make them not fray. Great video guys, super fun to see!
Guys, I am one of those people. I’m looking at this and saying there’s no way, no way that I ever going to do this. This does not look like fun to me. Not one little bit. But, I’m glad you all love to do it, and it’s fun too listen to talk about your explorations.
Then looking GOOD!! You must feel a lot healthier and diving must be a little easier with trimx consumption. I’d love a video of before you started your journey and now on the changed in your dive metrics If there has been some? It would be inspirational to get fitter and healthier for everyone and how you feel now energy wise etc. I’d love to know. I know it’s probably not a video many might want to watch but I’d be really Keen to watch! Also wOODY, you jinxed yourself when you said your a fish and don’t bubble I. That episode with the tech measurement machine 😂 I’m glad your okay but the irony got me giggling (now your okay. I miss your crazy octopus hats and stuff! Please wear them! You guys have got me into diving. Never thought I’d enter a dry cave let alone a submerged one!! But they are totally different. Thankyou for the proper guidance and looking for the right trainers etc to know and get the best knowledges possible to start with ❤
You guys make it seem possible that I could go diving and become a scuba certified diver. I hate deep water but enjoy or at least think I enjoy caves and you guys make it seem so enjoyable. I love the content and hopefully I get scuba certified
You guys are awesome thank you for always making me laugh and lose myself in your content I have never dived but the commentary and personalities are amazing keep being awesome
You guys are the best. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, even though I have absolutely no desire to do any kind of diving. It’s fun to see how much you enjoy what you do. Gus, I think it would be wonderful. If you would make that connection between those two systems. I know you can do it. We’ll celebrate!
Jon's a stand-up guy and a badass diver! I nearly fell out of my seat when you guys started talking about him 🤣 It's not everyday you unassumingly go to watch a video and then see your friends pop up 🤣 Next time ask him about evicting crawdads from their toolbag hotel 😁
Long time follower, I saw a video about compressor diving for commercial fishing that yall did a video on and I was trying to find it. My wife is a fillipina and I’m staying here (new baby) and I met a few of those divers. I spent hours looking for that video you guys did on dive talk
Awesome video boys! Question: At 33:13 you talked about not making a new line directly from an arrow because it could move the arrow around. This is just my observation: To me cookies, arrows and also the lines themselves seem kind of "flimsy". The arrows seem just to be loosely tied to the line etc. I am sure that is not as it seems to me (flimsy) but isn't there something more sturdy? Like something that physically bonds and arrow with a line? I love your videos and I love it that you both got into cave exploring.
Do you guys know about the "Expedition Bjurälven" project? Cave exploration in northern Sweden. Only possible during the winter months when the flow is low.
Beautiful work. When watching these videos I wish I could see the stats. Like I want to see how many bars you have left, what depth you are at, what your deco is looking like etc... If there is a way for you to superimpose that information after the fact looking at your dive computer history it would be pretty awesome to see.
Hello, would it be possible to make a video about improvements made by DAN after Woody's accident? I am really concerned about this topic and i have a doubt that in case of emergency you can rely on them.
I know you mentioned hydration in this one and in your last video about Woody's accident, but I would love to hear a full analysis from y'all's perspective about what happened and how it could be prevented, similar to your other reaction videos.
Do you believe that starting this channel has played in a role in you progressing from cave divers to cave explorers? id imagine that without the following and the connections you've made as a result helped you make the jump sooner than you would have? thanks as always for the content :)
When the Navy numbers spaces, its odd numbers to the starboard side or (right when facing forward) and even numbers for the port side or to the left when facing forward. There is an odd number of letters in right and starboard and an even number of letters in left and port. That is the easy way to remember it.
I would love to come to Cenote El Diablo. However I would rather go with people like you guys who have been there before who have actual knowledge of the cave system I'm cave certified and everything.
I would be interested to know what survey they are looking at for Aerolito. I have personally swam to the EOL of the Road to Chankanab passage. Other than Rob Neto and maybe Michael MacDonald I doubt that any older survey is correct.
Question: Does anyone know how long edd sorenson will continue to offer courses? I would like to learn from the best. But I don't have the training to start yet.
Where can we get the tshirts you guys are wearing 😩 I’d love to get one as a surprise for my partner who is obsessed with you guys - we’re from Australia. Can’t find them on your website 🧐
I've been in cenotes in Mexico, with guides and was very scared. Gus and Woody are so fearless, never mind drowning or getting lost. Imagine all the potential wildlife in there? I'm such a wuss😂
Hi guys, I love your channel. Will you do a reaction to a cave diving tragic story told by a channel called "occurrence". She's a young lady with very few subscribers and a new channel, but her voice is like music and she seems to do some research. If I knew how to link a video, I would, but her channel only has about ten videos so you can find it in ten seconds. It's worth your time!
its so unfortunate Florida is Florida, I'd move there in a second otherwise (i know this isn't florida, cave diving as a whole looks like a blast and florida is the closest option to me). This looks like tons of fun. Really jealous you guys got to meet both Edd and Mike.
One thing I'm curious about (I am not a diver, but I'd like to this looks amazing) is how you go this deep without pressurized gloves? Does the body real hold the capability to maintain shape even at these depths? Or are there hidden clues to this with the air/mixture PSI? Its fascinating that open skin can be exposed in such deep environments
Hey guys, can you perhaps explain why the first couple of minutes you're in zero visibility but then it clears up, is there flow deeper in the cave and not at the entrance or is it just the soil around the entrance being mud and the rest of the cave having less sediment? Just curious, you were talking about the first explorer and I just wonder if there is a particular reason you would 'expect' or hope for visibility to clear up the deeper you go? I mean, I can't imagine many people being thrilled about exploring caves where it's always zero vis.. doesn't really seem appealing to me :) So there must be a reason there was an expectation of getting better visibility, but I wonder through what process? ps Woody keep it up, if not to flex on camera for us then do it for your health and longevity.
Yes. It is not uncommon for zero viz near the surface because you’re standing there getting all the equipment on and disturbing all the silt. If the cave goes then chances are the silt will stop at some point. It’s like the ocean, sometimes you are in a beach and you keep walking and walking and the water doesn’t seem to be getting much deeper, but if you keep walking chances are you’ll find deep water. Same with a cave, just because it’s silty now doesn’t mean it’s silt all the way to the end, you just have to go in and see. Sometimes you get like 100 feet of zero viz and then it opens into clear beautiful water. There are also holes sometimes where you go in and don’t see anything anywhere and the cave doesn’t go, but you can only confirm that by going in and feeling your way around the cave until you find the opening.
Thank for the explanation! Exploring in zero vis to me would seem the ultimate level you can reach, heck if I could hear traffic from a highway above me I would be afraid the ceiling might collaps and some 18 wheeler might come crash on top of me 😂 This was an excellent video, thanks for sharing this with us! @@DIVETALK
Gus's labyrinth, thats epic
He's embarrassed, but it's actually a great name
Gus new nick name

Gus you’re looking amazing!!!
Looks like fun Gus! Great to see you surveying and laying new line!
Hey Gus, no one is fast forwarding through anything! There’s a reason why we are here watching.
"Gus' Labyrinth" sounds so cool!
Gus and woody are looking amazing man. You guys rock keep it going guys ✊
I can't wait to start cave diving next year because of you guys videos
Woody you're too funny. You always manage to make me smile with something silly you do, so thank you.

It’s a pleasure to see you both again!!😊

I love watching your videos I'm moving to Florida in a year or two can't wait to start diving it's always been a lifelong dream
Keep hitting the weights, Woody. I love pumping iron myself. Awesome video, guys!!
Great footage, love seeing the exploration process and listening to the commentary about it.

look at those massive guns on the woodster, keep getting those reps in 💪
I dived in this cave with Mike and German several years ago. It's awesome!!
Amazing footage and I always enjoy the videos. I’m gonna stick to the skies and leave the water to you.
That'd be so cool if you could connect the caves. The new name for the two systems should be Gus' Cave.❤👍
hahaha nah...not even close...so many amazing explorers worked on those systems before I got there
Anyone else, think of the movie Twins, when the bicep flex started? Going to rip the DT t-shirt

You are Amazing both of You ! And Funny ! Thank you so much!
Great video Gus. Looking good Woody, guns!
W video and I love the woody flexing intro lol
God I love these two. So funny, and I learn a load of stuff.
Can't wait for the extended version!
Gus, Woody, mornin' ✌️ Edit: it could be the lighting, or it could be Gus uses better laundry detergent 👍😁

You guys are awesome & hilarious! 😂 Much love to u guys!
I don't know a thing about knots but what I know is that you guys are nuts 🤣
I use the knot in Sheck Exley's book blue print for survival. Very simple knot.
I'm early!!! Hi from new zealand. Come dive here !
also congrats on the weight loss. Almost didn't know who I was watching 😂
hahaha Gus' Labyrinth. Without the backstory it goes from a funny name to a cool name lol
Woody can visit Muscle Beach in Southern California!!!!!❤
Omg there was coral in that cave!!! i mean dead coral but still coral, thats crazy. 15:28
Question: Does anyone know how long edd sorenson will continue to offer courses? I would like to learn from the best. But I don't have the training to start yet.
Not sure. But he’s still teaching.
You found well casings.... that's amazing, talk more about that.
When y'all get out , do you go find the top of the well?
Gotta do a collaboration with Action Aventure Twins!!!! Epic!!!!!
After watching this I sure hope I should bring Caramel Creams to the DT meetup in Bonaire! 😉

And what about your ears?
Water pressure only affects gases. Blood and bones and other tissue don’t feel the compression
Its not like going to space where there is no pressure. Liquids evaporate at a low temperature there so your eyes and mouth would bubble away

I love diving Cenotes!
woke up early to new dive talk and day off... im about it
Finally another video!!
Can you do a video on cleaning your equipment
Regarding your concern of the Line slipping away from the Arrow, maybe this is the time to practice some real Knots that can prevent that?
Nah
