- The PCT journey continues! After leaving Tehachapi, we face our hardest stretch of trail yet. Big climbs, extreme winds, big water carries, and high temperatures! We are exhausted after these few days, but more lies ahead. Cheers!

It makes me so happy that Cheryl is present here. I love the movie and I’m reading her book right now, and I can see her there, through that heat, pushing to get to Kennedy Meadows where Greg was waiting for her. I am so inspired by that woman and proud of her, she was the one who made me interested in the PCT. I didn’t even know it existed before I saw the movie. And now I am so inspired and proud of you guys, I really am. I see Anna and I wanna be her friend, I see you and I wanna be your friend. Thanks for this content. Thanks. I wish one day it will be me there, free at the PCT, pushing and pushing, and getting to the goal.
The movie Wild is why I started following hikers on the PCT. Thanks for taking the time to share your journey.
Thank you for following along!
2012: Discovered long trails @ 63 yo; read Wild. 2014: hiking the PCT. 2024: still making miles. Luv the backcountry!
Congrats on your steady progress through this section. Love y'all's sense of humor! Assume by now you're enjoying a a delightful zero somewhere in the Owens Valley. FWIW, the southern boundary of the Sierra Nevada is Tehachapi Pass, although recent thru hiker custom gives that title to KMS. Cheers!
Thank you for the kind words! We are actually about to enjoy a zero in Bishop! Great timing! Yeah from a thru hiker perspective KMS begins the Sierra. Still feels very deserty after Tehachapi. Cheers 🍻
20 mi water carries are not fun. I hope Anna's feet are ok? It's been so hot in the desert here for several weeks now. Not long until KMS! Your vids are very enjoyable! Thank you for sharing your trek with us. Take care☮️
That was a tough stretch of trail 🥵. Anna’s foot is getting better every day. Thanks for following along! Cheers 🍻
Another awesome video! Thanks for the time and effort you put into making these videos and sharing your journey with us! That EXACT stretch full on handed me my ass in '21. Glad I'm not the only one!!!
Would not hike that section for fun 😂. Very much enjoying the Sierra now! Thanks for following along!
I am not a hiker but love your videos. I am 68 years old and living vicariously through you. I did appreciate the reference to “Wild” as I read her book. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for following along!
T>WP can be rough. Maybe v early morning & late night hiking 🤷♂️. I’ve lucked out & never needed that during my 2 transits. But I’m ready. I do carry an umbrella for portable shade.
U guys are beasts w/ all that food & water.
That stretch of trail kicked our butts! In the Sierra now and we’re definitely not missing that section 😂
Cheers to ice cold town beers!
Received! We’ll make use of it shortly. Cheers 🍻
Impressive to carry all that in the heat! I've really been enjoying following your through hike. I hope you will have more reasonable weather, shade and plenty of cool beer ahead!
In the Sierra now enjoying all of that! Thanks for following along. Cheers 🍻
Enjoying your videos. Can you bring us up to date on how you two are doing with weight loss? I’m going by memory here, but most hikers start seeing an issue with not getting enough calories at your mileage.
That’s a good idea! We might include that in a video soon!
4:34 -- I guess it FELT like Day 46.
Haha the days are all blurring together!
Thank you
