Moja interpretacja to to jak ciężki czas był w czasie wojny zmagania Polaków getto, Auschwitz, ucieczka, walka, wybawienie, podsumowanie okrucieństw, każda nuta każdy głos chóru opowiada o stratach i cierpieniu. Czuję jak bym tam był... dziękuję
Słuchałem prawykonania na "Warszawskiej Jesieni" i wiedziałem, że to będzie przebój współczesnej muzyki klasycznej. To jest muzyka tchnięta iskrą Bożą
Wspaniały kompozytor i urzekający swoją skromnością człowiek.Daj Boże tej Ojczyżnie tak pięknych a wielkich ludzi.

Moim najlepszym utworem jest Bolero Ravela , jak bardzo się ucieszyłam, słuchając wczoraj wywiadu z p.Kilarem, że i on ten utwór ceni najbardziej....Exodus bardzo mi go przypomina - rondo . Ale Exodus oczywiście piękniejszy.....Szkoda,że już nic nowego nie powstanie.
Fenomenalny....niezwykle...ogromny...majestatyczny...

This concert was performed in one of the chappels of monastery in Polish city Częstochowa, in a place called The Bright Mountain (in latin it's Mons Clara), during the 22nd edition of Gaude Mater Festival. It was a special event for the composer's 80th birthday.
And yet, they managed to cough it to pieces.

Anyone who knows dealing with sound willing to remove those coughs? Looks like this is the only Exodus performance available footage in UA-cam. Also, there seems to be a delay in the audio.

Произведение чем-то перекликается с Глассом, закольцованные повторы просто-таки вводят в транс перед кульминацией.
Один из ярких примеров, когда классика берет лучшее от 20 века. Получается практически шедевр.

What a fascinating composer Kilar is in whatever of his compositions one is listening to. In this work one can visualise the biblical exodus with its weary progression and occasional confrontations. Good performance here but why cough in the quiet early bars.?
I expect the coughers are still coughing during the louder bits ... we just don't notice them there!

I have a question, In the melody Kilar is refrencing a traditional jewish klezmer. Which klezmer song is he using? Any Polish folk know which klezmer exodus is based on
No one knows that and I am afraid even Kilat did not care about the name of the song. He only admitted he had taken it from some recording offered to him by Peter Lilienthal - director fo "David", while Kilar had been composing music to that movie.
Had this music been written in 1966, Stanley Kubrick could have used the first part of Exodus in the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

It seems once a film composer, always a film composer, or at least a composer of music that is more filmic than classical.

Strange that Kilar never considered composing a Bolero......
That is exactly what he had done in this piece of music. He said: "I used the from created by Ravel because I felt that it was mine and I had to do it. I wrote Exodus and I told my story in it. Whatever anyone may think about it, that is of no importance" :)
I like to say that the first movement of Shostakovich's 7th is like Bolero except it's about Nazis, and Kilar's "Exodus" is like Bolero except it's about Jews.

Bywa, że człowiek nie zakaszle przez cały dzięn, ale poczuje suchość w gardle akurat tuż przed koncentrem. Ludzie chodzący do filharmonii są bardziej wzajemnie wyrozumiali

Niestety rejestracja tego wykonania pozostawia wiele do życzenia. Zdecydowanie lepiej wybrać wykonanie z 1985 roku (Polskie Nagrania Muza) lub z 2006 (DUX). To jest po prostu słabe (źle zarejestrowane, bo potencjał wykonawczy jest, ale nie może się przebić) i nie oddaje temu dziełu sprawiedliwości.

Zgadzam się. Sam powinien wyjść przy takim kaszlu.
Wyobrażam sobie reakcję Karajana, który nie dość, że orkiestrze mówił co mają robić, to i czasami odwracał się ku widowni i ją pouczał jak słuchać muzyki.
Súhlasím s tebou - tiež ma nasiera, keď to chcem počuť. Ale - čo keď je to práve jubilant? Zgadzam się z tobą - ja też byłem nasiera, jeśli chcę usłyszeć. Ale co, jeśli to po prostu jubilant ?
