Navy diver chiming in. I appreciate what you guys do as far as emphasizing safety, understanding physics, and experience as well as sharing awesome adventures like this. I cannot wait to explore like this when diving is no longer "work". Love to see you guys get stoked about diving.
Though I love scuba diving, I know cave diving is above my skill and comfort level, and I appreciate you guys providing some of us these windows into the unknown. Thank you and thanks for keeping it real.
I did wreck diving on my way to master diver and that's scary enough with all the potential dangers. You would never get me cave diving though. Bugger that with a cricket bat!
@@joshuacrooks3363 are you doing a nitrogen narcosis profile dive? That death isn't dangerous on itself you're just very close to narcosis depth so your dive depth profile is important around that threshold
It was a pleasure working with you guys! All of our content (including my behind the scenes videos) are now all live soo you know what that means!? we need to plan another one!
✨Josh?!! Oh my goodness it’s such a small world! I’ve been watching you for quite some time now. You did a fantastic job on this short doco! I can only imagine how breathtaking it must’ve been to experience this dive. My only experience is scuba diving the great barrier reef when I back packed Australia for three weeks~ I was in my mid 20s and had the time of my life! The giant clams were absolutely gorgeous, yet once you tickled their lips, they quickly slammed shut. Something I’ll never forget; a trip back is definitely on my bucket list. Take care Josh I hope your and you’re beautiful little family are healthy and doing well😊 🕊♥️🇨🇦🙏🏻♥️🕊
Not a diver, definitely not a cave diver, but I have watched EVERY video/short you guys have posted. Great content, thank you for the hours of entertainment and education. This type of video is a great anxiety fix. LOL
Wow, I've never seen what a "Halocline" looks like, where the water seperates fresh from saltwater, but here it is at 18:00 mins--incredible! Amazing filming!
Just breath taking. The only bummer is that I feel like there is a countdown timer for me to build the skills and get full cave certified so I can experience these spectacles before they are polluted or destroyed. I heard Robbie on Speaking Sidemount with Steve Davis, and he just seems like a gem of a person to have as a personal cave guide. World class cave explorer and a scholar to boot, like the warrior monk of cave diving. Great video guys, although I believe you when you say the camera can't do it justice.
This video is breathtaking. I can't even imagine what it is like to see it in person. You guys continue to expand my Bucket List. At this rate, I will never die... 🙂 Thanks for sharing this amazing experience.
I love you guys I pray for you that the Lord keeps you safe and brings you home to keep telling us wonderful stories of adventures of yours and others. I have a anxiety of going underwater or even in caves so this just gives me an adrenaline rush. to think somebody has the cahones to be able to do this is a beyond my understanding.thank you again for incredible entertainment be safe out there.
I would love to see more footage from this dive specifically!! What an amazing cave & the music was spot on!👌I was so confused at one point in the Halocline 18:35 whether Gus was right side up or up side down with both stalactites & stalagmites! It looked like a reflection. Now I can better understand when you guys have talked about how someone can easily lose their sense of direction! This dive was pretty spectacular! Thanks so much for sharing!
This is the most incredible movie you've made. Not just the cave but the whole trip. The part about the camera not able to catch it all is perfectly understandable. We've stood on amazing peeks in Colorado. Look at pictures later, you don't get the scope nor color, etc. You've on a different level now.
What is crazy by the formation we can assume that place was one day dry, and at some point got filled with water... nature is amazing the best thing we can have, such a great video.
Yes during the last ice age the water levels were about 100m lower. That's when all the decorations were formed. Then it filled up again and we can dive it. My favorite is where you can see how water has flowed along the floor and walls, little terraces of mud where water has flowed from pool to pool. A lot like the Pamukkale terraces in Turkey but on a miniature scale.
Woody I've been in climbing situations where I knew the camera was just not going to capture what I was seeing. That was in daylight on a clear day. I think you did a great job, I felt like I was there. People talk about going to space but our planet has so many great places that are still not fully explored and I am so glad Robbie took you to that cave system. It was truly another world. Thanks to Josh too, this was a wonderful video.
Great video, very enjoyable. The background music during the 4X4 drive was more suited to a 1950's cowboy/western movie, but hey, the rest of the vid was spot on! And if you get to see the dive shop dogs again, give them a pet for me - they looked like nice doggies. Great work, Gus and Woody - and everyone else!
God this channel really makes me want to to dive caves, but I can't afford to travel the world like this so I'm happy to live vicariously through you guys.
This is one of the great things about technology! Even 'simple' things like haloclines used to be hard to capture on camera. Now, we get to appreciate the beauty of caves in HD. I also like the advances in 3-D imaging that allow caves to be mapped and modelled, so non-divers can do things like virtual exploration. Plus those combined with other geophysics sometimes allow explorers to find new passages and caverns. Plus answer a lot of other important questions, like understanding the hydrology. There are a lot of places with haloclines, and there are risks that if too much fresh water gets extracted, aquifers become saline. So being able to measure that depth and volume is a huge help for water conservation and management.
"Impossible to convey on camera..." That's why it's a magical, special place. Nothing truly awesome is ever fully conveyed in words or images. You had such an experience. Your awe is what you shared with your viewers.
I've only snorkeled in lakes and the coast. Swam past the forth break and rip tides behind every break on some diagonal waves kept me out for fourty or more minutes, no jacket, and thought I was going to die, for real. It was staying calm and not giving up saved me. I ended up next to a trunk of a tree in the lake and looked up to see a Christmas tree of lures, down about twenty feet in green water. In a cove about 15-16 water moccasins swam under and over me a couple sliding across my chest and back. Theres more stupid trick from me on one breath, but " remain calm" was the key in all situations. I would definitely do cave diving.
That divide between the salt water and fresh water was really cool to see through the recording. I’d imagine it’s even more surreal to witness in real life! Don’t think I’d ever have the guts to cave dive (or open water dive) though so thank you for sharing. Maybe VR technology can let non-divers experience this one day!
Such a chill video! So fun to see Protec Tulum again. It's where I learned to cave dive from Kim. Spent plenty of weeks there since then (and at the taco stand across the road 😁). Planning to go back next year.
Incredible video, as always! ❤ For some reason the music in the beginning really stood out to me and it was an absolutely perfect “pirate fantasy” vibe!
What an amazing cave! Thanks Gus and Woody for bringing us w u. Also, it must have been super hot for Woody to be only in a T-shirt and shorts 😂 love you guys!
Him just describing the route got me all excited to continue watching. I am by far not experienced (and certified) enough to do cave dives myself but I am definitely going to. 18:20 Fresh water above salt water 🤯
WOW! Just wow! Amazing. Really cool how you caught the halocline on video, and I think I can understand what you meant by the video just couldn't do it justice, that room looked enormous! You guys keep diving and filming and I'll keep watching and training towards cave cert, Cavern is on the horizon already.
Along with everything else, thanks for finishing the shot of the dogs exiting the room at the beginning . Dog people and camera people get that and appriciate it 😊
Wow! That was beautiful ... and the music you put behind "Woody Cam" in the cave blended so well with that ancient cave in that part of the world ... hauntingly beautiful mix of visuals and audio ... Well-done! And that halocline was amazing! I've never seen that before ... so bizarre! Thanks for the video!! - Muddypaw 🐾

My three favorite cave divers in such a beautiful cave giving me the closest thing to cave diving as I can ever get. What an awesome adventure. And let me not forget to mention my favorite videographer in the world Josh Cantù. For you Josh, so glad you got the experience to hang out and travel with these guys. On top on working I’m sure you learned a ton from them because you were with some of the best. Woodie I’m sure was a hoot. Mike is so knowledgeable and professional. An experience of a lifetime. Safe travels guys. Looking forward to the next video from all of you guys.
Thank you so much lacy! Yes gus and woody are hilarious at all times and i felt the responsibility of capturing it for you guys but also missed so many amazing moments! It was awesome hanging with them and i hope i can continue to work with them!
This video has gotten me so excited! I got certified in Florida for cave diving in July and I am now heading down to Mexico in December to go cave diving. I can't wait! Love the video guys! Keep up the good inspiration
What a sight to behold, I'm sure it was incomparably better to see in person. Part of me wants to get cave certified, but I know very well I am not cut out for it. I've recently had the privilege to go on a few guided cavern dives for open water divers near cancun and Playa del Carmen and that was already mindblowing. So many amazing experiences I'll never forget in my life. Be it cave diving or cavern diving, diving there is someting I'd recommend for every diver to do at least once in their life.

i stay in playa for 3 years between 2005/2008. I had the chance to dive with robbie. Unfortunately as Robbie said yucatan peninsula is going down. real estate, golf, hotel etc... Robbie continue to be the guardian of the intra-mundo. always glad to see mike young in your video. cheers and be safe gus and woody.
I just finished binge watching this series and i just wanted to say thank you guys. With this level of quality you guys could have easily put this behind a paywall which i would have payed lol, but instead you gave us all a little more perspective into what the cave diving world is all about. Been following you guys from early days, its awesome to see how far the channel has come along
That is absolutely amazing I could literally watch y’all cave diving for hours and I like woody and Gus y’all are so genuine and honest I’m not a cave diver but y’all’s videos are just amazing keep up the great work guys this channel is all I have been watching for a week straight 😂 when I get home from work I just turn on dive talk and watch it until I go to bed y’all stay safe and keep up the amazing videos
Absolutely beautiful. You guys looked like you were floating in the halocline. At first I thought Woody was above water. Then saw, Gus?? ahead and it looked like he was floating.
Not a cave diver but I've done a bunch of the guided cavern dives down there. Absolutely love the environment most of the time. So beautiful I wish I was young enough to go full cave. But the one thing that freaks me out in a couple I've done is when there's total blackness below. You mentioned that in the video and I got shivers. Not sure I could ever get used to that. Something in my lizard brain just doesn't like it. I've marked the ones in my log I never want to do again. You can see some beautiful things in the cenotes without leaving the cavern zone and with a floor underneath you.
Honestly im new to the chanel but i have been BINGING you guy's content. Actually watching you has sparked my interest in diving (open water) and acquiring those skills. Diving has always been an intrest but watching your content and how "easy" you make it seem with your reactions and all of the safety tips you highlight has really made diving seem like a realistic and achievable hobby.
This is absolutely breath takingly mesmerizing. It is truly amazing what mother nature is capable of producing. Can't even imagine how many cool caves like this are in Mexico!
That was gorgeous. I haven't seen your guys' diving videos before, just the reaction videos of when things have gone wrong for other divers. That is so beautiful, but is a little scary to me. I would like to give that a try but we will see if that ever happens.
I love this channel. Even though I don't scuba dive the information is so helpful. Getting over my fear of water, y'all make me wanna learn cave diving so bad.
I came across this channel a while ago probably was recomended since i was watching ocean related videos a lot and i dont know why but the charisma wih you both and how real you are and unapologetic just made this cave diving talk so interesting to me….i never scuba dive or never mind cave dive since its a combo of my biggest fears of drowning and claustrophobia but i watch this all the time and even on repeat…i now know so much technical stuff about diving that i just see it as general education and dont know if i will ever need it in life😂….thank you for creating this channel and i might send u a treats box if u still accept them….😊

Can't even imagine how many cool caves like this are in Mexico!
very enjoyable to watch !! much respect to you !!
I’m loving this series , I want day 6, thanks guys
That was gorgeous. I haven't seen your guys' diving videos before, just the reaction videos of when things have gone wrong for other divers. That is so beautiful, but is a little scary to me. I would like to give that a try but we will see if that ever happens.
Waiting til the 27th is a form of torture 🥺🥴🤣! I love the videos!
18:21 that was trippy idk what was going on 😂. I, glad they explained it.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing
I love this channel. Even though I don't scuba dive the information is so helpful. Getting over my fear of water, y'all make me wanna learn cave diving so bad.
That footage looked amazing, I can't imagine what it looked like in real life!!
I love how the dogs just ran into the store like they had somewhere to go and someone to see!!!!!
Guys... this was super cool!! So beautiful and other worldly!
So awesome thank for taking me on your adventure 👍
I came across this channel a while ago probably was recomended since i was watching ocean related videos a lot and i dont know why but the charisma wih you both and how real you are and unapologetic just made this cave diving talk so interesting to me….i never scuba dive or never mind cave dive since its a combo of my biggest fears of drowning and claustrophobia but i watch this all the time and even on repeat…i now know so much technical stuff about diving that i just see it as general education and dont know if i will ever need it in life😂….thank you for creating this channel and i might send u a treats box if u still accept them….😊
