Superlink, the Japanese version of energon, megatron is. Called galvatron, when he’s made purple he’s called super galvatron. The arm mounted tank is the remains of his armada body reformated into a weapon.
This requires PE to know of and respect the Japanese side of the franchise.

Both Armada and Energon were made by Takara (and just translated by Hasbro), in Japan there is no "Armada Galvatron" he's Megatron in both color scheme. In Energon there is no "Energon Megatron" he's Galvatron in both color scheme. Hasbro changed it up for trademark purposes, but calling Energon "Megatron" Galvatron is actually correct.
As someone who owns the original energon leader megatron, the core’s transformation is literally identical to the OG figure, wing swivel and all
I absolutely LOVE core Energon Megs and I can't wait for the Galvatron (and hopefully SG) repaint to come out. This is one of those figures that feels like it was designed for me specifically. I've always wanted an new Energon Megatron figure in the small scale, specifically because I had the McDonald's toy of all things and it was one of my favourites before I very immediately lost it. And the fact this new one has basically all the features as the big one with the posable canons and the tank/sword accessory, this is truly a dream figure for me specifically.
Eyy, someone else who had the McDonald's toy. This is EXACTLY why this figure being in core class gives me a hit of nostalgia. I did watch the show, twice I think, and I did like the design, but the McDonald's toy is the main reason I want it.

They could easily retool the figure to have the arm cannon fit over the head, remove the wings and be a legit Galvatron.
Then again, make a SG Megatron, Prime, Starscream, Soundwave, etc.
Might as well since some of those core class guys are really great. Get your money’s worth from the mould.
That's asking Hasbro to have some sense and do logical stuff instead of their seemingly abundant Hasbruh moments.
Besides, Core Starscream in SG colors wouldn't look right... just as the Siege Starscream in SG colors before it ain't look right.

I'm kind of hoping that interest in everything Unicron trilogy begins to fade away again, honestly.
The Univron trilogy is horrid as a whole, with each series getting progressively worse in quality and sanity as you go.

Cybertron: A fever dream that leaves you more confused and brain dead than the first two, but finally with the feeling of sadness, regret, and disgust with oneself you should have felt watching the first two, but only now have begun to feel inexplicably...
@JROD082384 The UT shows suck and out of all tf media, were the most blatantly toy commercials, but there are designs from them that I like alot.
The Tasmania Kid gives me hope that they'll do more Japanese show BW characters and release repaints of their mainline counterparts. We could easily get the RID preds that get recolored into Stinkbomb, Nightglider, Spittor, and Cybershark
I mean those guys were just regular Beast Wars figures, and I'd prefer it if we got them in their Actual Beast Wars colorschemes.

Tasmanian Kid is just the Japanese name for Snarl. Although Tasmanian Kid is obviously named for the tasmanian devil, he's actually a wolverine.
I mean the character’s colors are definitely that of a wolverine. But Snarl/Tasmania Kid’s beast mode is officially described as that of a Tasmanian devil (both in the show and on the original toy’s box).
However the Legacy figure especially is basing itself more on the shape of a Tasmanian devil while the original toy was a bit more based on the shape of a wolverine.
I’m probably the only person in the world who doesn’t actually hate Energon, I kind of like it. Doesn’t mean it’s amazing though. So I’m here for this megatron
When Kid was first revealed, I knew he had to be my first core class and he didn't disappoint. I love how involved the transformation is for his size and the fact that his beast mode poses way better than Leo Prime is both baffling and hilarious to me. Speaking of posability, his beast mode can look up if you untransform the scalp, though it doesn't look great from the side.
I'm so mad about my Tasmanian kid. I was messing with him in the car when I got him, and his foot was very loose and then went flying off. Never found it

The colour's wrong, but I'm fairly certain Tasmanian Kid is supposed to be a Tasmanian devil - a carnivorous marsupial from Australia.
That's the only assumption to make, though he looks more like a Squirrel.

I'm not getting core class Energon Universe Megatron, not a fan of the second installment of the Unicron Trilogy. But I'll get Beast Wars 2nd Universe Tasmanian Kid. He looks neato, name's kind of weird. Sound like a name of a sickkick for a superhero or supervillain. Depends on how you spin it.

I have a weird nostalgia for Energon Megatron, because while I hate Energon, I think the design is good (Even though its OBVIOUSLY Galvatron) and I had the Mc'Donalds toy of this guy, so having him in core class is weirdly nostalgic to that Mc'Donalds toy.
I have never understood why they decided to make Energon the core class. if they had made the Armada Megatron the core class, they could have later made a leader class Megatron/Galvatron who used the core class as the cannon, saving resources to focus on the figure itself.
Speaking of this galvatron/Megatron, he's such a mixed bag.
As a toy, he was way better than an Energon toy had any right to be. he had pretty good articulation for the time, some really cool auto-morph features, and was canonically still Galvatron, as calling him Megatron was a dubbing mistake/decision in the english dub.
As a character, he sort of ruins Energon. He literally brainwashed the interesting plot points out of the characters.
Demolisher was still abiding by the truce from the end of Armada, and hesitantly defected back to Megatron. When he is mortally wounded saving Megatron's life, Megatron thanks him by reformatting him, while brainwashing him to remove any of that interesting character conflict.
Starscream was the same starscream from Armada, resurrected by Alpha Q(uintesson) but lacking the resources to do it properly, so he was amnesiac and sort of a ghost, able to phase through stuff at times, but other times corporeal. He had a sort of Dinobot II thing going where he clearly acted in a way that his former self would be appalled by, but any interesting ideas for that was wiped, because Megatron mind raped him into being a blindly loyal stooge as well, to the point that when Galvatron falls into the Unicron Singularity, Starscream flies after him.
Energon Skorpinok was a spy sent by Alpha Q to infiltrate the Decepticons, and was apparently the rebuilt form of his home planet's most Noble warrior. Lol, can't have that! Immediately brainwashed into being Megatron's footstool.
Tasmania Kid in the beast mode looks like he’s seen some terrible, terrible things (EXAMPLE: reading a Five Nights at Freddy’s fan fiction).

Is it weird that the color scheme for blue Galvatron makes me mad? I don’t know if it’s the combination of colors or that it looks unfinished but when I look at him I feel upset for some reason. (No offense to people who like his colors)
I have ordered the Tasmanian kid to go alongside my Lazer optimums prime, since I started collecting Transformers last year it’s is my first Beast War figure, also my collection have not theming and I imagine a story of some sort with the random characters as the cast of a TF show with the most random

Energon megs is a pretty accurate small sized version of himself alt mode is right cannons are right so they did a good job making what he was. I really liked the tazmanian kid as well they did a good job with these two cores.
It's just too bad about the HEINOUS posability.

I hate to admit it but Energon was my introduction to Transformers. Had a DVD of four episodes including Megs' return and I'm sorry but when this one was up for pre-order i couldn't help myself.

They are 2 nice figures. Now you are not that wrong with Galvatron. In Superlink (Japanese Energon) he was Galvatron since he appeared on the show, even when he changed colors. In Micron Legend ( Japanese Armada) he was always Megatron even when he changed colors. That made much more sence, he was Megatron, died, and got reborn from Unicron as Galvatron, not like dumb they did on the American dub. Armada Megatron becomes Galvatron by changing colors... then it happened again in Energon, unexplainably was reborn as Megatron again (with Galvatron appearance) then became Galvatron... BY CHANGING COLORS AGAIN!

I tried to watch SuperLink. Keyword being "tried". The dub (Energon) is incomprehensible garbage In which I couldn't tell who anyone was talking to or what the fuck was going on because the script was completely and totally fucked, So watching it in Japanese... And holy shit I was bored out of my mind or actively wanting to strangle the kid appeal character (Ironhide/Roadbuster). At least I know that my hatred of that Fucker was one shared by most people who suffered through that show, because both iterations of the figure shelf formed about as badly as Legacy Blitzwing is doing right now.
Anyways, Galvatron. I think the design is neat, I just wanted it in Leader class. It would've made a good replacement for that shattered glass figure that was just the Siege Megatron With extra bullshit to fake a flying mode.

I wouldn't say energon is the most hated show but definitely is the one of the least liked media to come out of transformers and it at least is better than Kiss Player , Beast Machines , Earthspark , Age of Extinction and The Last Knight .
Also I can see why Hasbro went with Tasmania Kid over Snarl seeing how Kid technically had more media attention than Snarl .
I've not seen it, and I do hate Beast Machines, but even I have to say that it being better than Beast Machines is a Suspicious claim.
Energon megatron isn’t bad it’s enjoyable for what it is and might look good next to tidal wave but it’s the wrong colour of tidal wave. Snarl is a very pleasing figure to fiddle with and has a scalping feature
I mean the posing is really bad, and the Transformation is really boring, which is pretty much all I ask of Legends figures. Have a fun Transformation.
At first I was mad that you called him Snarl seeing he made no appearance and BW2 is a funny comedic show, that weirdly, with it's sequel predicted ton of stuff in the franchise, but when I heard that you had OG toy I am ok with it, I guess I am jealous you had BW TF toys as a kid

I had basically all the OG Beast Wars Toys growing up, and I knew I was going to trigger people with that.
And I will fight you on that. G1 Megatron being a gun makes him so unique compared to everyone else. So many people are Tanks, Only Shockwave is also a gun.

As someone who likes Energon Megatron. Megatron is Galvatron and Galvatron is Megtron. They are the same person. Why he chooses to change his name back and forth in the unicron trilogy, I will never know. but honestly give me a Legacy Galvatron retooled and repainted to Engergon Megatron/Galvatron.
It is one of the most silly things about that Continuity, and the fact that it keeps happening is baffling.

Anyway as everyone's already said, Tasmania Kid is a Tasmanian devil. Though he's a lot lighter of a brown than a real Tassie devil (since those are normally really dark blackish-brown), at least from what I've seen the few times I saw one on the side of the road.

I'd tend to agree, but the Snarl is quite fun.
I feel the face sculpt of snarl suffers just as much from zero color break up. If they'd have painted the teeth at least, then there'd be some geometry for the eye to read into.

I love the Energon Megatron mostly due to the original figure, that is a fun and big figure (sucks in the show like almost everyone though). The wing thing works a lot better on the original for the silhouette. The way the shoulders are done is bad admittedly, but he does enough right for me to enjoy it. My personal gripe is the the sword wasn't stuck into the tank with a 3 mil peg like the guns have so you could pull it out and give him the tank on one arm and the sword in the other.
Someone just pointed out to me the Sword Tank thing was something from the actual show, which blows my mind.
@@PerspectiveEndEverything this figure does is straight from the showz the only thing it's missing is "Hyper Mode", that's where the shoulder guns would point down and the wings would extend as flaps and guns folded out. Sounds cooler than it is.
1:48 kind of interesting cause that's the opposite for me. I discovered this character while watching the Beast Wars 2 series and I didn't know he's called Snarl until recently when I was watching Chris McFreely's The Basics on Snarl video. I call him Tasmania Kid cause Snarl didn't exactly appear in much media other than comics and Tasmania Kid being the Cheetor of that team is just my personal definition of the character

Not really no. Some videos I can be, like this one might, but only just barely, it'll probably produce like 2 to 3 dollars more than the two figures cost, if I just did one of them, that would have probably been a little more financially sound, but these two together are like the cost of 1 deluxe.
So anything more expensive than that, and it still costs me more to make the video then I get out of it.

Energon was the first transformers related show I ever watched so this little megs is perfect for me
When I first watched Energon, I literally thought that Megatron was Galvatron, so I was confused as to why they called him Megatron. I also thought the series was connected to the G1 continuity, despite knowing even as a kid that Energon was a continuation of Armada. That’s how confusing this Megatron design was back then.
God I love both of these figures. Tasmania Kid/Snarl looks really fun and I’m so glad Energon is finally getting rep in Legcay. Yeah Energon may be the weakest bit of the UT, but it still had some pretty dope designs and I’m glad they’re finally getting new toys in Legacy.
Though for Energon Megs a larger figure at say Leader class later down the line would also be nice, especially if it can let the shoulder guns actually hinge down instead of needing to be partsformed to do so.
Has no one been able to find any United figures in store?
I managed to find the leader class figures and some of the deluxe class guys in person so far. No luck with any of the core or voyager class blokes in terms of recent legacy stuff

I have tazmania kid and he’s super fun to mess around with in robot mode, even the transformation is fun.
The show might've been 🗑, but the Energon toyline was top tier. The Decepticons were anyway. Few standouts being Slugslinger, Mirage, Demolishor, Sharkticon, the Terrorcons, and on the Autobot side of things, Landmine was awesome. Plus those energon weapons could all combine into a giant bustersword. They even did wierd stuff like Snowcat that came out good.
Were the Autobots Bad? You called out the Decepticons Specifically.
@@PerspectiveEnd they had the combination gimmick where one formed a pair of pants and the other a torso. So they had long legs and small arms. They could be either or.
I'm glad I'm not the only who realized the beasty boy was the actual best core of this line.
I have the Megatron just because I had the original, I paid more for the core one bought the Original for $7 at flea market. My core Megatron's knees keep falling off whenever I transform it. Don't regret my purchase but might not get the repaint unless they fix the leg tolerances.

Ugh. I hate thinking about Energon. They ruined Armada’s top tier finale just to give us 51 episodes of the most repetitive, boring slop.

@@PerspectiveEnd Galvatron was brought back from the dead with the stated goal of resurrecting Unicron. At the end of Armada he literally died in a final battle to prevent exactly that, the motivation makes no sense for his character. They also brought back Starscream as a mindless zombie completely ignoring all of his characterization in Armada. The repetition comes from them resurrecting Unicron twice, once in his own body and again as a ghost possessing Galvatron. Both of Unicron’s awakening scenes were punctuated with him stomping someone who looks like Shockwave to death, it was impossible to ignore how redundant it all was.
I personally hate these lazy tail weapons that dont even try to look convincing. They are just an excuse to not finish designing the translation. The only acceptable tail weapons are the one that actually transform like for example dinobot's sword and shield that actually looks like actual weapons.

@@PerspectiveEnd partsforming a lot of the time ruins good transformation designs.
My favorite part of transformers is the transformation and seeing how they managed to engineer it. But any time partsforming is involved may it be a tail weapon or different part of the alt mode it feals like the designers have cheaped out on that part and cheated by partsforming . Which kind of ruins the fun of the transformation. Any cool and complex transformation just feals undermined by having mandatory partsforming be part of the conversion. That's why I always appreciate when a figure has the partsforming be optional.
Legacy United Tasmania Kid is officially Tasmania Kid instead of snarl in the same way that Commander Class Magmatron is a Beast Machines figure instead of a BW Neo one (basically, no they aren't)

@@PerspectiveEnd I'm referring to how he was originally released in Beast Wars Neo and then later released in a different country in beast machines, very similarly to how beast wars snarl was originally released as snarl , and then re released in japan as tasmania kid. I'm just saying that to me, this guy is a beast wars figure as snarl, and not a beast wars 2 figure.

I have both of these. Snarl is on my Beast Wars Shelf, Galvatron I'm not sure. he's not in the candy bowl with the other core class so he's either lost un the either or he's already in deep storage

"Blue Galvatron" is hilarious. If a couple more colors had been correct, it could've been a passable Marvel G1 comic "Galvatron II", fugly green cannons being powered up much like that fugly green Matrix that came with Takara's release of the G1 toy color Galvatron. Ehhh. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ Anywho, others may have pointed it out, but that crappy tank sword gun wannabe MMPR Blade Blaster is the leftovers of his Armada/Micron Densetsu body. Why's it black and mahoosively shrunk down? The world...will never know.
Tasmanian Kid/Snarl...could've "put the Taz in Taz-Mania, down in Taz-Mania"...and of course it makes Kingdom Rattrap look like shit, that iteration of Rattrap WAS shit, doesn't take much to beat that thing...except maybe ERcee.

If you could pick, what character would you want to see in core class ? And why?
You know you're destined for mediocrity when you and beast machines Cheetor only get core class reps in the toy line solely for the fact that their series was dog shit. Nothing wrong with core class as they are a cheaper (ish) way of getting transformers figures, but compared to the titan class cybertron metroplex and the commander class RECLINER PRIME, that's unfortunate. Energon is the butt of the unicron trilogy and it shows. Now that I've said that I'm betting there will be a voyager Ironhide with Kicker leaked or something to prove me wrong, or a galvatron repaint I don't know I won't buy a single one.......do whatever Joe Hasbro, just no more beast machines or anything. Unless it's jetstorm.

The best part about the legacy Energon Megatron is having the Original Energon Prime and Wing Saber tower over him. I feel like the design itself didn’t hold them back, they just didn’t want to put that much into him. The arms constantly getting caught on those pegs are what give me that impression. I mean even without them his poseablility still wouldn’t be amazing, but it wouldn’t be gutted like it is now. Hell even though Optimus isn’t exceptional, he still has far better poseability. It doesn’t help that I paid $17 for this figure since Amazon changed its minimum free shipping price from 25 to 35. I still went through Amazon though because Hasbro has been absolutely killing its distribution. This thing could have been so much better, but they seemingly dropped the ball in every way.
Got Snarl off your recommendation. The transformation takes a few times to get used to the clashy bits. But as time goes on, I enjoy it more and more. He's a fantastic desk toy. Pick up, transform, put down, repeat later. Even if the visible faux jaw in beast mode bothers me a bit.
Prices of core figures in my neck of the woods kinda suck, but I would like a mini Galvatron figure. I think I'll wait for the purple one to come out instead of double-dipping on the mould. Galvy as a jet is much better than the G1 cannon he turned into. I always thought the cannon mode looked daft, even when I was a kid.
I’m worried about the Megatron cuz it might desuade Hasbro from making the other Energon characters

I have to question whose idea it was to make a Tasmanian Devil bright brown and not black like…a Tasmanian devil. Like I know they had a thing about not having toys share colours for shelf sake but I don’t think anyone would be mixing up a Black Tasmania Kid/Snarl/Growler(the Quebecois name and something I think is much better than either) with Optimus Primal.
I’m not sure how you can say that Tasmania kid has a great transformation aside from the arms since that and the backpack make up like half the transformation.
I mean Energon isn't... I mean it's kinda... Ok you win. I'd say only watch it if you don't mind a bad plot and find the 4Kids dub of One Piece funny.
Finally, someone else said it. I've been saying this was Galvatron, but Blue for 20 years and they all thought I was crazy.
God, this figure.. I almost can’t even describe how mad Emthe Core Energon Megatron makes me, not specifically just because it’s bad, but because it’s bad and has a ridiculous amount of weight and pressure upon his stupidly-tall shoulders.
Designers have pretty much said so themselves that this figure and his repaint are a means to test the waters on Energon, and that means if they don’t sell well we can kiss Energon goodbye. So the entirety of a toy line’s representation depends on the success of the shittiest Core Class figure I’ve owned, and of the objectively least interesting designed character in the freaking line.
Am I the only one that feels like they set up Energon to fail, here? To have justifiable cause to say they’ll never make another figure because clearly nobody cares about that toy line? Because that’s what if feels like, and that enrages me because I actually loved the Energon toy line, it was just the show that utterly sucked. I want so badly not a new Energon Snowcat but that all rides on the shoulders of a figure that’s so devoid of a shit given that the sprues are inside the knees causing a common defect where the knees are stretched and pop off from a light breeze.
1:11 it’s 0.01% Superlink is my favorite show I love it so much. Even in the dub, I think this Megatron is peak. David Kaye is giving the performance of a century portraying Megatrons dwindling sanity.

They've been making some pretty good stuff nowadays especially with their titan figure which has to honestly be the most best titan class figure I've ever seen yet it's not even a transformer
It's super good and the tons or playability with it is amazing. And the other figures too like powered convoy are great too.

Jeez, am I the only one here that likes Energon Galvatron's design? I even like it more than the G1 version because a gunship is a much smarter choice for an alt mode than a cannon.

Nobody likes Energon because they watched the dubbed unfinished Hasbro version. 99% would've probably liked it more if it just had hand drawn animation the whole way.
Honestly they looks pretty good and more beast wars stuff is always good but Honestly not to interesting in picking these guys up one I've got no intrest in blue galvatron as I've never seen energon and while I love beast wars, I don't really like the design all to much and I am a but more strapped for cash so I typically buy figures I have a strong connection with or just really like so imma pass

energon as a show was so bad that it's one of the few times the japanese version is straight up better
like sure super link isn't GOOD per se but the plot is streamlined to make ever so slightly more sense (which is unfortunately still not at all)
and the stupid filler dialogue is removed so the characters can say more than "uh" or "we gotta do the [thing] with the [thing]!"
We got beast machines cheetor in Colombia instead. It's not out of this world, but it's decent for what it is trying to represent. And looks incredible next to thrilling 30 tankor
