I hope you guys go back and watch this video to see how much better your production quality has gotten in less than a year. Seriously something to be proud of.
I just started playing like 2 weeks ago. This is my home course as I live like 10mins from it. So cool to see you guys on it. Wish I could catch a round with you guys and get some pointers!
@Bennybass paul (actually hannah) has been vlogging for a good while now and the humor comes out there too. I dont think it was all Brodie but i can definitely agree a little bit
Man, so many fun courses in VA. As well as The Grange, I love Loreilla, Hawk Hollow & New Quarter as well as Elk Creek. Newport News, Bayville, etc. are a bunch of fun, but not quite the challenge & variety of the others. A lotta fun golf in VA. Awesome to see some fresh DG content :) Thanks a million.
I'm also with The Grange and New Quarter. Both worth the fee. I also quite liked the original layout of Bedford County aka Falling Creek. I haven't had a chance to play the new layout (live in TN).
Foundation catch phrase; “Oh my gosh you see that flutter.” “Foundation fun rides!” “Hunters beast crew.” This course for me was an 8 I’ve not often had to use switch back to get to a hole. It’s gorgeous. Great video, thanks again be safe!
I was lucky enough to be on a work trip in Roanoke when this course first opened and it is as good if not better than all the classic mountain courses in Colorado. So well designed and maintained.
"What do you have to say about that? "Turn the camera off." Just 3 guys on the course. Not really but awesome. Random dude in background has no idea the world's best player is sitting 40 feet away. Banter and trash talk is almost as entertaining as the golf. Outstanding. Surprisingly cool audio of discs flying by.Thank you Hunter, Zach and Paul!
Pretty new to the sport, but have been following Mr. McBeth for a while - always good to see him playing a non-tournament round. Hope you guys are keeping safe.
Wow! I'm from Tennessee and while I was passing through Virginia on a trip I stopped by and played this course! I'm a big fan of it and I'm glad you guys showed it to everybody.
Yall should do a video of paul giving zach tips on backhands.. just a thought. I think anyone who struggles with backhands could probably learn something from it.
18:50 Yes!!! Blockhouse Sunnyside is something special in my opinion. I had a conversation with Jay Yeti Reading the week before I moved to VA and I asked him what courses I needed to checkout in VA, and The Grange (Blockhouse) was his first recommendation.
@@FoundationDG, off 15 north of Leesburg and just short of the Maryland state line. It's on a Christian ministry property called Freedom Center. www.freedomcenter.us/FCSite/discgolf.htm
Right in J C's neck of the woods! Mayflower is a great course, alongside greenfield (same area) it's the closest course we have that is "championship level" that can be driven to in a day. it's one of my favorites in VA. But I may be biased a little bit.
I read most of the comments and I don't see any mentions of Waller Mill. Paul, I think you'd love it. Tees could still be improved, but the surfaces are big and level. Also, it's beautiful and you'll love the lines! Totally underrated.
I liked this video a lot. More of these would be great. Paul feels about that course how I felt about Vision Quest in Minnesota. Pretty fun course and its got some fun gimmicks but something about it just didn't really feel like it was super worth the trip out to play it. Blue Ribbon Pines is slightly closer to me than Vision Quest and I'd much rather play BRP any day. But Vision Quest is still good and I enjoyed playing on it, just wasn't up to what I thought it was going to be.
If you guys take the day and drive up to Northern VA, the Biscoe designed “Clark’s run disc golf course” is a championship level woods course. Well worth the drive and could be part of the “best course of VA” series if that’s what you’re going for.
@@gregallie0519 Looks like a nice course! I just really like the diversity and elevation at Walnut creek. Havent played another course with that same feel.
Have you guys played at Randolph Park in VA? It's the best course that we have locally in my opinion (New River Valley). Would love to see you guys out there sometime!
It looked like a fun course. Kind of challenging looking. There are a lot of courses that could be #1 in Va. The most challenging one I've played in my local area is Giles Run where the old Lorton prison used to be. Virginia jus has so many courses, picking a #1 would be hard. What makes it #1, being hard, long, challenging, short, easy, beautiful..................... I would love to see Foundation disc golf to come play some of the courses in Northern Virginia................... LOVE DISC PERIOD......
We would love to have you all out here at Lake Marshall. Owner Gary Hutt is anxious to have Paul play the course and see what he is trying to build for the DG community.
Coming from a place where our even best courses have pretty average astroturf teepads, I am so jealous of all these "bad" teepads I see in videos from the US and Europe. The few times I've played on actual concrete teepads, boy, what a difference it makes! I hope one day good concrete teepads will be the standard at my local course, players have even offered to pay for them, myself included, but courses on public land mean lots of annoying regulations :(
Traveling from the Lynchburg area I would go to Timber Ridge Farm. The Whorley family are just awesome people. Not going to be peoples favorite course but it’s a fun farm course.
You should do a choose the others shot type Mabie have Paul in it or not, basically the idea is hunter would pick a shot/line for Zach and Zach would choose the disc that would go with that line, or if you had Paul join he would Mabie pick the disc for Zach if you wanted to make it interesting.(I put names in the description of the challenge for ease)
Trapped inside I've been watching (and posting) a lot of disc golf videos. I've seen a lot of Brodie's stuff with Paul and Hannah as well, and the camera work has room for improvement. One of my favorite things to do is to travel and shoot videos on different courses. There's a lot that goes in to making a good video on any topic. That all starts with being a good camera person. Paul McBeth is actually pretty good as I've seen when he took the camera on some of the Brodie / Hannah videos. The problem is of course, he's so good, he should be throwing and commentating, not shooting video! Editing is the final component and where you can fix a lot of problems. I'd be happy to produce a video next time you guys go out and play, and you can just concentrate on playing and not worry about shooting or editing! At any rate, great content, and I'm glad to be able to at least watch disc golf if we aren't supposed to be playing it in Northern Virginia. PS: Come play Bluemont when you get a chance!

I understand where Paul is coming from (he is providing the pro level assessment). But there is a big difference between a pro playing a course, and everyone else. A course that would challenge Paul would not be fun for 99% of normal disc golfers because they would be shooting 20 over par and would take like 3-4 hours to play. The lines would be so ridiculously tight you’d be hitting multiple trees every hole. When Paul says several of the par 4s should be converted to par 3s he’s right from a pro perspective, but that would kill the fun for many players because it would take birdie out of the question-in my opinion, a birdie should be hard, but if you throw a perfect drive you should have a look for birdie. On a 450 foot par 3, that’s not really possible for most non-pros. I personally love the course the way it is, but I also see Paul’s point of view. He’s not wrong, but he was just expecting something from the course which it wasn’t built for. You could make the argument that most people should play from the white tee pads and they should make the blue tees harder, but I’m not sure how much sense it makes to put time and money into maintaining pro level tee pads which are only playable for 1 out of 200 people that come through the course.
