Some people have believed in Jesus, but they haven’t gone very far from their old lives. They’ve stayed close enough for the enemy to still have a foothold. They are still influenced by ungodly friends and things that have dragged them down. They are still engaged in a lifestyle they should have repented of long ago.
For example, how many generations have been destroyed by drugs, sex, and rock ’n’ roll? It’s amazing how each successive generation acts as though they’ve discovered it themselves. The fashions may change (or sometimes don’t), but they get into the same things that previous generations did.
We need to obey God. We need to commit the nonbelievers in our lives to the Lord. If they’re going to come to Christ, they won’t come to Him through our compromise. In fact, it will drive them away.
Sometimes we think we can reach people for Christ if we just do what they do and relate to them on their level. Then they will believe and think we’re really cool. But no one has ever come to Christ that way. Nonbelievers come to Christ because Christians living genuine lives before God aren’t afraid to let their lights shine.

That lady is so lovely! I lived in Saitama for a semester and MOST adults I talked to (mostly employees, shop owners, etc.) had the same friendly/funny vibe (students at school were also extremely nice, it's just a bit different). I felt so welcomed! I lived along the Tobu Tojo line and I felt like every single stop had something special to offer. It's beautiful and unique in every city. Even if you're only visiting Tokyo for a bit, I'd recommend taking the Tobu Tojo line from Ikebukuro and exploring the cities along the way :)

Learning more about Saitama the region really informs me more about Saitama the character from One Punch Man. From the penny pinching to his laid back attitude, him living in tokyo but still trying to find every deal and coupon he can to live cheaply, the fact that everyone else in the story underestimates him. Its like he's meant to be emblematic of the region through his personality and character.

My in-laws live in Saitama! I visited them in April and had an amazing time in Kawagoe. I can't wait to move there next month.

I lived in the Yoshikawa and Koshigaya area in Saitama for several years. Though there isn’t much to do in Saitama besides shopping, there are numerous beautiful places and people were very nice.

As we watch Pharaoh try to manipulate Moses, we see a picture of how the devil tries to manipulate us. This is the anatomy of a compromise.
What did God tell Moses and Aaron to do? He told them to put three days’ distance between Egypt and themselves and then offer sacrifices to Him (see Exodus 3:18)
However, Pharaoh told them they could go and offer their sacrifices to God, but they needed to do it in Egypt.
Pharaoh was trying to force them into making some concessions. He was saying, in effect, “If you don’t want to worship the gods of Egypt and have to worship your God, then go do it. Just don’t go very far. Stick around.”
Maybe you’ve seen this trick before, perhaps even in your own life. After you give your life to Christ, the devil essentially says, “I didn’t want you to do that, but I will concede that you have gone over to the other side.
Let’s strike a deal. Don’t get too fanatical here. Can we still have a little fun together? You don’t have to give up all your old friends and lifestyle. You can still believe in God. But be practical.”
That is what the devil does with us: “Go ahead, but don’t go too far. You don’t have to believe all this stuff.”
Moses, however, said no. He knew they had to go.
Some people have believed in Jesus, but they haven’t gone very far from their old lives. They’ve stayed close enough for the enemy to still have a foothold. They are still influenced by ungodly friends and things that have dragged them down. They are still engaged in a lifestyle they should have repented of long ago.

In the traveling and hospitality business we make distinctions between travelers and tourist, being called a tourist is usually negative because tourists are usually disregarding and not mindful of the foreign cultures they visit.
Travelers are the ones who seek to learn, act accordingly and respectful in foreign cultures.

I studied abroad in Saitama and it was a great place! Not too far from Tokyo and packed full of cool things to see and eat.
I love sashimi, I have even eaten basashimi in Kumamoto. But I’ve never seen its preparation and found this was such an interesting video to watch. I love your videos anyway, and love this journey through Japan. I plan to return for my Japanese acupuncture studies but hope to do a 3-month tour before that and your vids give me lots of ideas of places to visit. Visiting Saitama and that lovely lady’s restaurant would be so worth it. Thanks.

I'm glad you enjoyed raw horse since it has such a negative stigma outside of Japan and Italy although I think South America they produce it.
By the way I had to warn you that carp/koi ARAI style sashimi should be very careful about it, it’s not about freshness. As in ALL the kinds of fresh water fish eating as raw, origin of fish must be known and carefully examined for possible parasites. In this case carp was farmed in safe environment, so it’s ok to eaten as sashimi style, trust me on this, I’m Japanese and working at sushi shop.

As a Japanese man who grew up in the REAL countryside of Japan, Saitama being called countryside does sound a bit weird. I mean, Tokyo citizens, including celebrities and comedians, often publicly mock them and some TV shows feature the debate since it’s located right next to Tokyo, and Saitama takes a massive advantage of and leverage that as a marketing strategy these days. The same goes for the statistics; votes from the Tokyo citizens carry much more weight than those living in other parts of the country.
The real countryside is not even recognized to begin with. I’m jealous of Saitama, constantly showing up at the bottom of such rankings.

Visited Gyoda once, lived and worked in Misato-Shi Saitama for 5 months, when I was over in Japan. It's honestly a lovely place. People are nice.
I wish we had a sushi restaraunt that served sashimi straight from a live fish in a pond in the back in Los Angeles. For those new to sushi or seafood in general, if fish is fresh, it doesn’t stink. Thank you for the great video!

If it only takes half an hour-an hour to commute from Saitama to Tokyo then that doesn't seem like a bad place to live at all. You get the countryside while still being able to go to events and do things in Tokyo.

People in Tokyo have a particular view towards Saitama. There is an expression in Japanese, "Dasaitama". "Dasai" means, in plain English, not posh, or out of fashion. People in Tokyo always think highly of themselves. It's a bit like North-South divide here in England, or England-Scotland divide here in the United Kingdom. But, I would like to visit Saitama one day, as I am a fan of Saitama Seibu Lions Baseball Club.

I lived in Saitama Prefecture from 2016-2020 and it was an absolutely amazing place to live. Still the quiet and calm atmosphere of the countryside, but still close enough to go into Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures when you want to as well :)
So it's like visiting the suburbs that used to be old farm towns where most people work in the city. Pretty awesome place!
